I just llove all Lebanese food but I just don’t get this dish at all how it can be appetising. Soggy pieces of bread soaking in canned chick peas covered in a thick layer of sour yogurt then topped off with a puddle of grease and nuts. I’ve researched all similar recipe on you tube but they all make it similar. I just find the ingredients for this dish a strange combination
It maybe strange combination of ingredients, but it works and people have been eating this for hundreds of year. Give it a try, who knows you might love it like us ❤️❤️❤️
You can use less butter I haven’t tried it mixed with coconut oil? Maybe I will add a tad coconut when I make it today but I add much more pine nuts this recipe barely used any pine nuts! But I love the sizzling butter with nuts on top!! It’s bomb and I haven’t tried it with paprika before… I add cinnamon and pepper and at times a tad bit of cumin as well all over and it comes out amazing! I also don’t add that many garbanzo beans on top and I do less of the liquid. Anyhow I’m about to make it for dinner heheh I’m craving it now!!
Toasting the bread or frying it will give better taste I think. I love this dish. I use eggplant instead of garbanzo
