I'm a Filipino and I love shrimp paste, but never in a lifetime would I ever have suggested to eat pinakbet. I don't even like that myself. When it comes to delicious Filipino foods, that is certainly not what comes to mind. But these ones below do. 1. 'Kare kare' (ox tail). A stew cooked in peanut sauce eaten with boiled rice. 2. 'Sinigang' (pork or fish). Sour tamarind stew eaten with boiled rice. 3. 'Sisig' (pork face). Usually eaten with garlic rice or just beer. 4. 'Chicken Inasal' (chicken). That dipping sauce is typical Cebuano indeed. It is the dipping sauce most common in Cebu that is made from coconut vinegar, soy sauce (alternatively salt), hot chilis, chopped white or red onions (alternatively green or spring onions). This dipping sauce is usually for meat (chicken, pork, beef, etc.) and fish dishes which are grilled, fried, and roasted.
Thank you! We sweat a lot too and are eating all the salty foods and consuming a lot of water. Usually people think not that much salt it needed but I’m glad you know that it’s necessary and important!! 🤗
@@ChaseandShelbs You have to have a perfect (in pinoy meal) bite... since some food is salty try having it with some rice, the rice will minimize the saltiness! Drinking a lot of water due to the saltiness of the food is good for you, it becomes easy to consume the daily required amount of water intake...
Depending on what region/province you go to, each has its own version of pinakbet, adobo, sinigang, etc. In Ilocos (northern Luzon), we use fermented fish (which has a milder flavor) instead of fermented shrimp in pinakbet. Some versions of pinakbet use oyster sauce. If you go to Bicol (southern Luzon), they usually add coconut milk and chillies (pinakbet + Bicol express). Keep exploring and enjoy!
@@ChaseandShelbs yes but the basic and classic pinakbet is originally with fishsauce which is very salty for foreigners. Ilocos are known for its soury and salty taste.
@@ChaseandShelbs But if it's from Bicol area, brace yourself because they are fond of SPICY foods so batting average, the pinakbet would surely be Spicy. There's a common joke that if there's an incoming typhoon, they FIRST put support to protect their chili plants than their houses. Their version of LAING (Taro leaves with coconut milk) is sure to be spicy. The Bicol region is fond of spicy and with coconut milk type of dishes.
Agree with trying the same dish in different locations, especially here in the Philippines, different provinces/islands have their own versions. Keep enjoying our food and stay safe.
Filipino food is always paired with rice especially pinakbet, adobo, kare-kare and more. You eat rice and the other dish at the same time! ❤️ Thank you for trying filipino food! Love from Philippines ❤️🇵🇭
Love your videos! Almost all Filipino dishes are typically rich with flavors and a little salty because they are meant to be paired with rice to balance it out.
I adore shelbs because she has a big appetite and is willing to try anything. Also, she is so down to earth and seems like a genuinely nice human being.
AWH!! You just made my night 🥰 thank you! I’m such a little foodie and really enjoy everything hehe. And I like to think I am, so that’s so sweet of you to say. Much love to you girl! ❤️❤️
You can squeeze the calamansi on the crispty pata sauce. It adds a great flavor. You can also try lechon especially when you go in Cebu, that's where the best lechon is.
With Filipino Food , Filipino always eat everything with rice. Some dishes have strong flavours like saltiness, sourness, spiciness and even bitterness. Rice in away acts like a neutralizer. You can have something very salty or umami by itself and then when you eat with rice, it becomes less salty or umami; it taste just right. You should try out the Filipino Breakfast like Tapsilog (Beef Tapa, Garlic Rice and eggs), Champorrado (Chocolate Rice Porridge) and Taho(Warm Soy Bean Pudding with Brown Sugar syrup and Tapioca). These are also great comfort food.👍👍😎
the next time you order Pinakbet, ask if it has shrimp paste. they could cook for you without it. In our household, we used to have it but as members aged, we opted not to put in some shrimp paste. 🤤
Don't worry guys you're not the only ones that's not a fan of Pinakbet,i also find the shrimp paste flavor a bit overpowering sometimes. Take care guys. See you on the next one. ❤️🙏
@@ChaseandShelbs Actually, in the northern part of Luzon where pinakbet originated, they use "sauce" from salted fish. I wonder how you would react to that haha..
@harrypatter6998 Just like most of the Filipino food, Pinakbet is made in different ways. Pinakbet is my favorite. The one my mom makes does not use shrimp paste, but with fermented fish. Big difference in taste!
It’s been awhile since I’ve been to the Philippines to visit relatives… yeeaarrrsss. The food still looking delicious though! May I make a suggestion? The last time I visited the Philippines (again years ago), my family and I everyday would find a tricycle driver and ask if they can drive us around the whole day. Maybe try it to make it easier for you guys? If they say yes, set a price right from the beginning. And at the same time, you can also ask him/her if they can suggest any local must see that not many tourists know about. If you guys are having breakfast/lunch/dinner, you can tell them to just come back. Set a time and place. And then at the end of the night, give a little extra tip. It might be worth a try since I see you guys always having to wait for the jeepneys. But please be kind to the drivers! Treat them right, they’ll treat you right back. Have fun and stay safe!!
The food is super delicious haha! We are enjoying it thoroughly! And Aw we love that idea!! Sometimes it’s hard catching rides so that would be awesome! We didn’t realize you could even do that :) thanks for the suggestions! We are having a super fun time so far and can’t wait to see what else we get up too! Stay safe as well 🥰
@@ChaseandShelbs yessss! Good luck! And when it comes to food and if you can find it, my favourite dish from the Philippines (and even here in Canada cause my mom makes it sometimes hehehehe) for breakfast is arrozcaldo/pospas/lugaw (named differently in different regions but are the same). It’s a type of Filipino porridge. Highly recommend! And of course, Taho! This one is usually just in the mornings and the person would be screaming at the top of their lungs “TTTTAAAHHHHOOOOO!” If you ever come across, try thiiissss. And if you do, mix it well cause all the sweet syrup would always settle at the bottom of the cup. 👍
Going there for the first time sometime in November and as a foodie, I'll give that veggie dish a try. ;) can't wait to see more of what the country has to offer food-wise.
It’s been pretty great so far! Just be careful if a fish says shrimp paste.. 😂 we love the adobo, sisig, crispy pata, garlic rice, kinilaw, Bicol express, etc 🥰
I just came across with one of your vlogs recently and I'm starting to love it. The food looks good and yummy though. I agree with Chase that he would try other version of pinakbet maybe it's prepared differently. He's right because some cooks the pinakbet differently without the shrimp paste a.k.a. bagoong. Next time visit the Quezon City area the Timog and Tomas Morato Avenues within the same vicinity where you'll find many good local and international cuisines or restaurants.
Aw we are happy to here that! And yes we always have to make sure to try things more than once. I’m sure we would like it, even if it had just a little shrimp late haha. ❤️ and thank you. Quezon city sounds awesome 🤗
you should observe that most of the restaurants in the Philippines serve food good for one family. which is 3 to 5 persons per serving. unlike in the west food are being served individually. why? it's our culture to share our food together with the family.
We love that about this culture! We love sharing and trying all the things. Some of the noodle dishes and soups are huge and look like they are meant for others lol! It’s awesome.
and by the way, it's ok not to like some of the food in one's culture. i myself don't want some pinakbet recipe. i only eat pinakbet if my mom cooks it. because i know it will not be that salty if it is a home cooked pinakbet.
You guys are so cute❤️ i love how u guys try everything without feeling disgusted, you’re always happy and excited to try out new things which makes your videos so awesome and fun to watch!❤️❤️❤️ pls try streetfoods sometimes like fishball carts, kwekwek, squidball, kikiam etc❤️❤️
Aw that means a lot! We try to be open minded and give everything a proper go :) we really want to find some street food that has a lot of those options but it hasn’t been as easy as we thought :) hopefully soon ❤️❤️ thanks for the recs!
Hello and good evening 😊🌻❤️ Thank you for enjoying Filipino food. And thank you for visiting our country.😊🌻❤️ Regarding the PINAKBET. . It's really bit salty and has strong shrimp paste taste.. one way to enjoy that. Squeeze Calamansi or put the sauce of the Crispy pata and have some Rice 👈😊❤️😊 Dont hesitate to use the different sauce. Experiment..and see what taste will soothe your tongue! 😊❤️😊 .. try eating Arrozcaldo with crispy tofu! 😊❤️😊 Enjoy and God bless! ❤️😊❤️
Hello Carlos! Thanks for this helpful information. We totally think that would help. It seems everything must be eaten with rice so we need to start doing this lol! Experimenting with the food and sauces is so much fun! Thanks for the suggestion, arrozcaldo sounds super delish 🤩🙏🏼❤️
5:02 ..thats what the rice is for. It has a reason a lot of those dishes have a strong flavour and a reason for generous amounts of rice :) Strong flavours mixes well with lots of rice, so lots of rice = filling and more savvy. Thats how I understand it.
YUMMY!!! Watching this vlog is just making me sooooooo hungry!! 🤪🤪 Yes, Pinakbet is cooked with shrimp paste and if you're not used to the taste of shrimp paste, most likely you will not like the dish. I for one love Pinakbet but growing up I somehow developed allergy to salt water seafood, so can't eat seafood from salt water. 😩 But, Pinakbet can be cooked without the shrimp paste and it taste yummy as well. 👍🏼Glad to see you enjoyed the rest of the dishes you both tried. 👍🏼
It was so delicious hhaha! Oh no! Sorry to hear you can’t enjoy it. That’s can’t be fun getting allergies to something you used to love 😳 we will make sure to try it without the shrimp paste haha I’m sure we would like it! Everything else was incredible!! 😍
I love the honesty, I appreciate that. I dislike fake flattery that some people give in order to win the favor of others even when it clearly show on their faces that what they're saying isn't actually what they really think. That honestly irritates me. So it's okay that you didn't love everything, at least you were polite about it.
We totally agree! And thank you! 🙏🏼 That would suck if someone went to eat somewhere we recommended and they didn’t like the dish. We always make sure to be honest with our reviews regardless of if we like it or not! 👏🏼 not everything has to be a win it’s just about experiencing the food and going with the flow 🤗
I rewatched this because you guys are so adventurous with the Filipino food. Lol. You guys are awesome. Makes me proud to be a Filipina 🇵🇭🙏. You guys are so funny with the pinakbet. Glad you tried it. It is an acquired taste but yes the base is either shrimp paste or fish sauce depends how it is made. Hehehhe I love pinakbet so many veggies. Try the balut next lol🐣
Thank you! we appraise that very much. We always try to embrace all the local culture has to offer and we are having such a fun time here 🤗 I think we would like pinakbet without the shrimp paste hehe
Yummy yum yums! 😂 Nice try eating the pinakbet. That’s one dish that I loved eating when I got older. I never liked it when I was a kid. It has an acquired taste. A must try are “guso” and “latü” seaweeds. These are blanched in hot water, drained, and then prepared with some vinegar, onions, ginger, scallions, and tomatoes. These are a perfect match to crispy pata or lechon kawali.
Yeah it was super intense! I don’t think we like shrimp paste lol! We have wondered what the seaweed dishes are!! I love see weed and love to try those! (Chase not so much) 😂
Hi @@ChaseandShelbs . Hahaha. I'm sorry, Chase. LOL Here's how the "guso" dish is made ruclips.net/video/sf-CtGJyiPA/видео.html The latu or lato salad is done quite similarly. Again, it's only a side dish. www.thepeachkitchen.com/2011/03/lato-salad/ Have you tried Cebu's lechon yet? One known place is Rico's lechon; it's a "must try"
In pinakbet all veggies healthy food .okra which is slimey, bitter melon, string beans ,squash, eggplant, string chilli, the strong flavor sauce was composed of shrimp paste or 'bagoong' fermented small shrimp saute in garlic onions pepper ..good combine in cooked rice
We ate things with rice!! 🫣🤪 tbh though I don’t know if it’s our culture but we actually enjoy a lot of the Filipino foods without rice haha! We switch in between having bites with rice vs without, most meat dishes we prefer without rice!
Pinakbet goes well with the crispy pata/pork trotter eaten with rice. That's one of the variations of how we eat it. Some restaurants will tweak pinakbet with crispy pork belly on top. Typical condiments mixed together *Soy sauce+kalamasi+fresh chilli/chilli oil Typical sides/condiments for fried foods *Achara or pickled vegetables *Plain ketchup *Spiced vinegar We put ketchup on our sunny side up eggs when paired with a silog meal (i.e tapsilog, longsilog etc) Silog meals typically served during breakfast. When in doubt, ask a local. Cheers and enjoy!
most of Filipino dishes are flavorful or have strong flavor because we usually ate them with rice and it will complement to that strong taste of the dishes...
Finally, a food that you dislike! Pinakbet is my favorite food but not that pinakbet. That is pinakbet tagalog. I was surprised you ordered that. It is an Ilocano dish but then it was adopted by other regions so there are a lot variations of pinakbet now. That is not something I recommend to tourists because of the bagoong (shrimp paste). It takes getting used to it to like it. Can't wait for your next adventure there in Cebu.
We also didn’t like our last dish in our Filipino China town video! The sate noodles 🤣 we didn’t know it had shrimp paste, I think it would be good without it. We might have to try again haha! More cebu adventures to come soon! ❤️
what you've eaten were pinakbet, pancit canton (noodles), crispy pata (pork knuckles), and lumpinag sariwa (spring rolls of ground pork carrots, turnips, green onions). Pinakbet is veggies in bagoong (fish dip). The veggies in pinakbet are ampalaya (bitter gourd), eggplant, pumpkin, string beans, okra.
You know why the lumpia was salty…….because you ate at Salt😂😂😂 All kidding aside, eat everything with rice and it will help tone down the intense seasoning.
Hahaha nice pun, we like what you did there! 😂 and it’s pretty foreign to us to eat a spring roll type food item with rice but that totally makes sense to eat it with rice so it’s not so salty!!
I love your PI video series. I can’t wait to go to Cebu in June when I visit the motherland. Lol the pinakbet can be too authentic for foreigners but I am glad you guys tasted it. 😍🙏🇵🇭
When the food or "ulam" (any kind of food/meal paired with rice) that has strong flavor. We either eat it with rice to cut down the strong taste or with drinks, ranging from water, soft drinks (sodas), fruit juices (pineapple, calamansi, etc.)
You might have noticed that Filipino dishes in smaller carenderias or eateries are saltier than in casual restaurants. It's because these small eateries cater mostly to locals who are fond of eating rice with every meal. The clientele of casual restaurants are both local and foreigners (expats and tourists) so their food is less salty. The saltiness can be neutralized by rice in every bite.
That’s interesting because we have ate at about 3 or 4 carenderias and we have both agreed they needed salt. Not sure why! Maybe we just got unlucky and aren’t hitting the right ones? 😂 but we just ask for salt and that solves the problem hehe! I love to be able to add salt to things but taking salt away is hard 🤪 but now we know.. add more rice!
Ugh, I wish I found you guys sooner, you're probably not in PI anymore. I wanted you guys to try the plethora of instant coffees that they're known for, to find which brand you like best. Heck, even a very popular US series (House of Cards) mentions Asia as having perfected the art of instant coffee. Nescafe and Kopika are two propular brands there, then you have to figure out also what degree of cream to sugar ratio you prefer.
A good pinakbet is the pinakbet with crispy fried pork in it and a bit of diluted sauce which is kinda like a soup consistency, if you are going to give pinakbet another chance, try the northern Philippines/ the Ilocano version of pinakbet. I hope this helps 😉 Also, try some pork sisig (make sure to mix the egg around if you'll try it), bistek tagalog, pork or chicken adobo, spare rib or pork sinigang, if you like vegetables try some chopseuy, also, try Mang Inasal. There's many more to try 😋

This dipping sauce is usually for meat (chicken, pork, beef, etc.) and fish dishes which are grilled, fried, and roasted.
We loved it! It was so much tastier opposed to plain vinegar and soy. But that’s always still good too :)
Cebuano is very romantic daw po saka masarap food😃
TRIVIA: Please note that due to the heat in the PH people tend to sweat a lot, and consuming salty food is needed to replenish what was lost.
Wow that’s very good advise … maraming salamat 🙏🏻
You're right, all restaurants and areas can prepare the same dishes differently and may use family or regional recipes.
👍🏻
Depending on what region/province you go to, each has its own version of pinakbet, adobo, sinigang, etc.
In Ilocos (northern Luzon), we use fermented fish (which has a milder flavor) instead of fermented shrimp in pinakbet. Some versions of pinakbet use oyster sauce. If you go to Bicol (southern Luzon), they usually add coconut milk and chillies (pinakbet + Bicol express).
Keep exploring and enjoy!
Ohh that’s super cool to know! The pinakbet from southern Luzon sounds like it would be more our style!! 😂
it called pinakbet sa gata. 😊
@@ChaseandShelbs yes but the basic and classic pinakbet is originally with fishsauce which is very salty for foreigners. Ilocos are known for its soury and salty taste.
That’s cool!!!😄
@@ChaseandShelbs But if it's from Bicol area, brace yourself because they are fond of SPICY foods so batting average, the pinakbet would surely be Spicy. There's a common joke that if there's an incoming typhoon, they FIRST put support to protect their chili plants than their houses. Their version of LAING (Taro leaves with coconut milk) is sure to be spicy. The Bicol region is fond of spicy and with coconut milk type of dishes.
Tip: If a dish/sauce comes with a calamansi, try squeezing the juice into the dish/sauce. It steps up the flavor. 😊
Ohh great idea 😍😍
bruh, did you watch the video..? thats what they did!
@@GT-Oldschool Chill O.G.. lol.. They did but not in the sauce.. I mentioned dish/sauce though..
@@jandelayco3130 You wrote “into the dish”, not “the sauce”. Duh.
@@GT-Oldschool IKR!
Agree with trying the same dish in different locations, especially here in the Philippines, different provinces/islands have their own versions. Keep enjoying our food and stay safe.
Pinakbet is sautee with salty shrimp paste and anchovy sauce or patis which has an acquired smell. Its a regional dish.
Filipino food is always paired with rice especially pinakbet, adobo, kare-kare and more. You eat rice and the other dish at the same time! ❤️
Thank you for trying filipino food! Love from Philippines ❤️🇵🇭
Love your videos! Almost all Filipino dishes are typically rich with flavors and a little salty because they are meant to be paired with rice to balance it out.
Aw thank you! That makes total sense, we need to remember this for next time🤗
Most Westerners don’t eat rice so it explains why they may not get used to Asian food where a meal is always paired with rice.
@@denniszenanywhere fact.
Why they dont paired with wheat?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂just kidding
❤️
🥰
your reaction to the food you've tasted is so natural, I love watching you guys, have a safe & wonderful stay in the Philippines wherever you go.
Aw thank you! We are foodies at heart 😂👏🏼
Chase's chuckle when he first tried the lumpiang shanhai was pure joy. Hehe
Ahh that would have been so amazing! Wish we thought of that 🥰 thank you!
i got a watery mouth while watching your vlog, you are so natural, with feelings & enjoyment.
👍🏽 Keep Going you guys did your Homework pretty good. Just what the Filipinos wants to see Representing their food/Culture/Philippines
That totally makes sense :) rice would mellow it out! And that sounds delicious! We have had Taho but would love to try champorado, and tapsilog 😍
Love love love Pinoy foods!!!! kasi pinoy din ako😂
Thank you for appreciating Filipino dishes.
I love the dynamic you two have. very fun to watch. I was born in the Philippines and now live outside of D.C.
Great video!
That is so sweet! Thanks ken. We have a fun time together :) hello all the way to D.C ❤️ We very much appreciate that!
the next time you order Pinakbet, ask if it has shrimp paste. they could cook for you without it. In our household, we used to have it but as members aged, we opted not to put in some shrimp paste. 🤤
Aw that’s good to know!! I think we will ask for it without :)
I really really enjoyed you traveling to the Philippines and go other parts of it and tried some stuff so pretty cool! Love it! ❤️🇵🇭
Don't worry guys you're not the only ones that's not a fan of Pinakbet,i also find the shrimp paste flavor a bit overpowering sometimes. Take care guys. See you on the next one. ❤️🙏
We were totally thrown off and didn’t expect it to taste like that at all!! It looks so pretty haha 👏🏼😂
The flavor of the ampalaya veggie which is mixed in the pinakbet was bitter. A pinakbet without it is what I prefer lol
😊😊😊
I love your energy guys! The Philippines is really the best destination for you. 🤣❤️🇵🇭
We agree!! 😂👏🏼 Thank you haha 🥰
You two just so darn adorable together!!!
Ahhhh thanks panna hehe!! 🥰🥰
@@ChaseandShelbs Awesome vlog, btw. Keep it up!
The same 😄😄
Best to mellow the shrimp paste by eating with rice but yeah some can go overboard with the paste! Haha still love my pinakbet
That pinakbet should be eaten with rice
You make me drool with the crispy pata.. enjoy guys. 😍
Maraming salamat… sa advise friend .. ❤️❤️❤️
You guys are real foodies! I personally think foodie people are the best kind of people to hang out with.
Aw haha thank you! We agree with you.. foodies are the total best people want to hang with 😂
It would be amazing for you guys to find a local to take you on a food tour. Thanks again for a great video!
oo nga no ganda ng video nila..❤️
Pinakbet once you eat must together with the rice it's gonna be perfect taste
you should observe that most of the restaurants in the Philippines serve food good for one family. which is 3 to 5 persons per serving. unlike in the west food are being served individually. why? it's our culture to share our food together with the family.
@@solo8827 So true!! Asian food culture is revolved around FAMILY and FRIENDS. ❤️💕 We don’t understand why Westerners eat on individual plate. 🤣
@@jomontanee there is nothing wrong with it also. actually I don't want also to share my plate. only the food. it's two different thing. haha.
Thank you for appreciating our food...👍💖
You guys are so cute❤️ i love how u guys try everything without feeling disgusted, you’re always happy and excited to try out new things which makes your videos so awesome and fun to watch!❤️❤️❤️ pls try streetfoods sometimes like fishball carts, kwekwek, squidball, kikiam etc❤️❤️
Aw that means a lot! We try to be open minded and give everything a proper go :) we really want to find some street food that has a lot of those options but it hasn’t been as easy as we thought :) hopefully soon ❤️❤️ thanks for the recs!
Oo nga no😄
Pinakbet is meant to be eaten with the rice so it will neutralize the strong flavor of the shrimp paste or the "alamang". Give it another try. 😉
exactly!
Hello and good evening 😊🌻❤️
Thank you for enjoying Filipino food. And thank you for visiting our country.😊🌻❤️
Regarding the PINAKBET. . It's really bit salty and has strong shrimp paste taste.. one way to enjoy that. Squeeze Calamansi or put the sauce of the Crispy pata and have some Rice 👈😊❤️😊
Dont hesitate to use the different sauce. Experiment..and see what taste will soothe your tongue! 😊❤️😊
.. try eating Arrozcaldo with crispy tofu! 😊❤️😊
Enjoy and God bless!
It has a reason a lot of those dishes have a strong flavour and a reason for generous amounts of rice :)
Strong flavours mixes well with lots of rice, so lots of rice = filling and more savvy.
Hello guys! i really have fun watching your videos, so intertaining & stress-relieving!
Aw thanks so much 🥰❤️
Yummy yum yums!
LOL
Here's how the "guso" dish is made ruclips.net/video/sf-CtGJyiPA/видео.html
The latu or lato salad is done quite similarly. Again, it's only a side dish. www.thepeachkitchen.com/2011/03/lato-salad/
Have you tried Cebu's lechon yet? One known place is Rico's lechon; it's a "must try"
The only thing I eat in Pinakbet until now is that yellow kalabasa and the sabaw soup that's it..lol im not a fan of sour bitter greens.
Hahaha as a Filipino watching foreigners eat the dishes without rice - kills me!!!!!
We ate things with rice!! 🫣🤪 tbh though I don’t know if it’s our culture but we actually enjoy a lot of the Filipino foods without rice haha! We switch in between having bites with rice vs without, most meat dishes we prefer without rice!
😂😂😂😂😅
Crispy pata (pigs trotter) for me a beer food. Lumpiang shanghai is the ultimate Filipino finger food.
ask the resto staff/vendor how to eat or do the sauce.. in any food you dont know how to eat so would maximize the taste 😊
Yes we should try :) it’s half the fun experimenting hehe but afterwards we should ask so we can also try it that way too! We appreciate the tips 🥰
Rice regulates saltiness and intensity of the flavor
I'm with you in Pakbet/Pinakbet. I always tell my mom not to put shrimp paste because i cant handle the intense flavor hahaha
We are opposite …I love the shrimp flavour😂😂😂
so happy you enjoyed our food.
that pork knuckle looks amazing! im really surprised how well chase can handle the spice lol
It was unbelievable 😍😍 chase is a spice fiend lol!
Making me hungry with their great Aunthentics food in the Philippines
This just made my day--seeing you both on your culinary adventures!
Aw we are glad!! 🥰
Pinakbet goes well with the crispy pata/pork trotter eaten with rice. That's one of the variations of how we eat it. Some restaurants will tweak pinakbet with crispy pork belly on top.
Typical condiments mixed together
*Soy sauce+kalamasi+fresh chilli/chilli oil
Typical sides/condiments for fried foods
*Achara or pickled vegetables
*Plain ketchup
*Spiced vinegar
We put ketchup on our sunny side up eggs when paired with a silog meal (i.e tapsilog, longsilog etc) Silog meals typically served during breakfast.
When in doubt, ask a local.
Cheers and enjoy!
Thank you!! We usually try to add condiments if possible and it really does help! :) we love the silog meals!! They are soooo delicious 😍thank you!!
most of Filipino dishes are flavorful or have strong flavor because we usually ate them with rice and it will complement to that strong taste of the dishes...
Try the Philippines Street food in sugbo mercado located at cebu IT park thanks keep always safe and more quality vlogs!!
The red sauce is not a sweet and sour sauce. That is called “BANANA KETCHUP”
Always watching, Luv U Guys❤️🤩
You know why the lumpia was salty…….because you ate at Salt😂😂😂
All kidding aside, eat everything with rice and it will help tone down the intense seasoning.
Hahaha nice pun, we like what you did there! 😂 and it’s pretty foreign to us to eat a spring roll type food item with rice but that totally makes sense to eat it with rice so it’s not so salty!!
Wow in starving 🤤
Try pinakbet w/out or a Little bit bagoong 👌
Have fun fun fun 🇵🇭😘

I love your PI video series. I can’t wait to go to Cebu in June when I visit the motherland. Lol the pinakbet can be too authentic for foreigners but I am glad you guys tasted it. 😍🙏🇵🇭
Cebu is very beautiful place … I never been there … that’s my dream destination ❤️❤️❤️
Filipino are Amazing food lumpiang shanghai and Lechon kawali good crunchy
They are! So crunchy and yummy :)
When the food or "ulam" (any kind of food/meal paired with rice) that has strong flavor. We either eat it with rice to cut down the strong taste or with drinks, ranging from water, soft drinks (sodas), fruit juices (pineapple, calamansi, etc.)
You have to eat pinakbet with rice. Also, combine it with any fried fish like tilapia, daing na bangus, etc...then see the magic combo taste like.
I miss tilapya😂
Happy to see you both enjoying our dishes. The vegie plate is called Pinakbet which have shrimp paste. Enjoy your stay!

wow I'm drooling watching you feast guys...like what Chase favorite expression...wohoho....enjoy.
First to watch and comment.....luv u guys...🥰🥰🥰
Yay!! Hope you liked it! Much love 🥰🤗
You guys should try SOPAS! :)

I hope this helps 😉
Also, try some pork sisig (make sure to mix the egg around if you'll try it), bistek tagalog, pork or chicken adobo, spare rib or pork sinigang, if you like vegetables try some chopseuy, also, try Mang Inasal. There's many more to try 😋
