- HELLO CEBU CITY! First impressions 🇵🇭 Wow is all we can say for the AWESOME day ahead!! We can't believe Cebu is the oldest city in the Philippines! The first stop we made was to Jollibee, a popular fast food chain in the Philippines. We loved the spaghetti! For $1 how can you really go wrong!? On our way down to Colon St. some delicious looking street food caught our eye so of course we had to indulge! Upon arriving to Colon Street (the oldest and shortest national road in the Philippines) There is so much happening on this busy street! All the sights, sounds and energy was so fun! After a few snacks and some shopping we move on to some history at Fort San Pedro. Walking around in this historical place had us in awe, and they still had the original 14+ cannons mounted around the wall. Finally to finish this amazing day off we have some TASTY authentic Filipino food! We couldn’t have asked for a better first day in Cebu!

That's banana cue usually it's brown sugar for color and texture.
The food that you ate lately in a stick thats what we called BANANAQUE its made from SABA BANANA with brown sugar and deep fried. Thank you for coming to our country hope you like it very much🇵🇭😁

This is my first time an expat vblog and featured this historical place in Cebu. Some vblogers go straight away to beaches and adventures but here is actually good places to see just around the city of Cebu. I love your energy both. I kept smiling the whole time watching your videos.

But in California I visit many places too like Monterey, San Diego, LA, bay area and some places in northern California. Thanks guys for sharing your videos.

You might be the first foreigners I've seen eat with the SPOON!!! That is the Filipino way! I think because a lot of our food is so saucy and gelatinous. I'm in the US so most places here don't even give you a spoon unless there is soup haha. Kudos to you for figuring that out early. So much easier with a spoon!

Sisig is my favorite Filipino food. First time I tried it I didn't know it was pig's face and I loved it. Later I found out it was pig's face but I was already addicted so it didn't bother me that much. Crunchy Sisig with beer, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

I have been to Cebu a couple years ago, and one of my memorable experience is eating pork suckling at House of Lechon.
I have tried the Rico’s, Zubuchon, and a few others, but House of Lechon stood out from the bunch.

As a local of cebu, I'm glad to see that you didnt visit colon earlier. 5-7 years ago it wasnt as friendly either local or tourist-wise, people get mugged there a lot but it's improved dramatically over the years. It's not perfect, but its way better than it was many many years ago. Fun fact: If you guys are looking for nice beaches and resorts and whatknots, you can either go north or south of cebu. There are tons of beautiful beaches and resort and they're not so jam packed that you can actually rest and rewind without the busy crowds.
That’s really good to here it’s improved. We had no issues and everyone was super friendly! 😊 and thank you! We have made our way down to the south of cebu and are actually now in puerto princesa! We probably had the best time in south of cebu in the Philippines so far! Canyoneering was unreal!! 😍we are excited to have some relaxing time in port Barton 🥰
Great video! Sisig may be found in most big cities in PH but that's originally from Luzon. But in Cebu & the islands, the food highlight for us would always be STK, that's the offering of the restaurant you went which you sadly missed. It's an acronym for the 3 different traditional ways we cook seafood (before the Chinese introduced cooking in oil):
S- Sugba or grilled
T- Tuwa or boiled
K- Kilaw or cooked in vinegar / calamansi citrus (same as ceviche but that's lemon based).
Other street food you can try- siomai dumplings w/ chili garlic oil, ngohiong (bamboo shoot spring rolls in Chinese 5 spice), Cebu chorizo and of course pusô (hanging rice, very unique to Central Visayas).

The sweet banana street food you ate is called "banana-cue" and it's a different variety from the bananas you might be used to. It's made by deep frying the "saba banana" (saging na saba) on hot oil with brown sugar. Also, that particular variety of banana is usually an ingredient for cooking Filipino dishes like "pochero" and "nilaga". Glad to see you liked how it tastes!

Crossing the streets in the Philippines is a certified game of chance, you can bet your life on it. Be very careful when crossing a busy street because it's not fun being run over by a car. That fan you just bought is called lollipop fan because of how it looks. A lot of foreign vloggers are complaining about the hot and humid weather in the country, as if they haven't realized it yet that they are visiting a tropical country. Now that you've found a solution to the weather problem, albeit temporary, there's no reason for them not to follow in your footsteps and try to find a way to ease their discomfort. It is said that travel broadens one's horizon, and that is evident in your vlogs as you try to imbibe the experience and appreciate it for what it is. Always take care and be safe.
It’s crazy! In Thailand we get safe crossing even though it was chaotic.. here it’s a little different. People doesn’t seem as likely to stop 😂 There is always a solution to a problem! Finally, both of you are in Cebu. There are so many beautiful places and food to eat in Cebu. My cousin and I went to Bantayan Island. You can choose where to swim in the ocean or inside the cave with non salt water.
