Come on guys, Cruising California is obviously a joke. They're not always serious and that's one of the things I love about this band. It's nothing like the rest of the album, but it's definitely kind of catchy and fun. Especially the first two songs and "I wanna secret family...", "Dividing by zero" and "Slim Pickens" are great songs, if you ask me. Of course that's just my opinion.But even if some of the songs remind you of other bands...so what, they're still good! The Offspring still got it!

I just feel that in the past I've heard a much more creative side of The Offspring than that of the last 2 albums. Hardcore punk and melodic hardcore, punk bands like Bad Religion, NoFX, Anti-Flag, Pennywise, Rancid, Pegboy, Screeching Weasel, Operation Ivy, Refused, Black Flag and Minor Threat influenced Rise Against. If anything, The Offspring started to turn radio rock around 1999 when Rise Against was formed.
Granted, this song does sound similar to "Savior", but it's not an exact copy. ...and every Rise Against song has elements of an Offspring song. I'm not knocking either band; I'm just saying the reason I like Rise Against is because they sound like The Offspring!
Noodle said in the interview that they like the song and the label said 'punk wont work if you're a big band, do rock instead' that song isnt a joke its the offspring givin a big fuck you to their real fans cause they arent after the punk audience anymore. They're after a Jersy Shore style audience nowadays im afraid

It`s just not fair, even not right, when a band, that almost 30 years exists, has clearly inspired a band (RA) and gets now accusated for "stealing" from this band, although it`s such a typical song for them.

If it were just taking elements from "Savior" it'd be fine, but the whole structure/progression/rhyme scheme is virtually the same. Which I could even see past if it wasn't also the case with "Turning Into You" and "Ready to Fall" from Rise Against as well. Too many coincidences. Ah well, if you're cool with that that's cool, I just don't like that kind of stuff
