its so interesting how same things can feel so different to different people and its cool that we have such a variety of options so that everybody can find what suits them best! i actually prefer art creation sketchbooks _because_ of the cream coloured paper, it doesnt feel as «scary» to me, kinda like a pre-filled coloured background in digital art. they are also very affordable which helps ease the feeling of "oh i dont wanna waste any paper, gotta be precious with it". but i also prefer drawing with black brush pens and liners and opaque acrylic markers, so the colour of the paper doesnt really affect me that much. thank you for sharing your research, it was indeed very thorough hehe

( the artcreation takes all medias very well.. only watercolor markers work kind of bad and I rly like the toned paper…aaand you can get them also with white paper but I think these are not easy to get) So thank you for this video 🌸

I have not noticed Strathmore always being soft covered, one tuber I know always using the larger of the sketchbook is Sally Townsend, check her out. Also one very famous tuber using and recommending Hahnemühle Nostalgie is Jazza, check his earlier videos around the time he made his first art package for beginners. Also I have to say, the sense of humour and sarcasm is on point, chef's kiss 😘

Just started the art creation one and I was sure the cream colored paper wouldn't bother me, but it actually does, sometimes - Kinda feels 'dark' in there :D I'll definitely rewatch this when I need a new sketchbook. The Leuchtturm sounds great :)
glad you like them! I really didn't vibe with the art creation one, but if the only issue you have with it is the cream colour I thing the leuchtturm is very similar in other tings

I tend to gravitate around the same of paper than you do, though I don't mind if the sketchbook lacks a pocket or is spiral-bound. Have you ever tried the Stillman and Birn sketchbooks? They come in a variety of paper weight, grain and color. They definitely are on the pricier side though :/
I haven't, can't say I've even hear of them to be fair. I searched them up and they seem really nice, but alas like many sketchbooks they are not available in norway without paying double + customs 🙃

I HATE smooth paper, so this video is mainly a “What not to buy” video for me 😂
