Magnificent. The footwork is basic to be successful in boxing. The number one doing that is Loma. When I look at the athletes, during their matches, I see a lot of arm working, but not foot working.

This is golddust! Coach. You just showed that footwork comes in combinations as well as punches. Danny must be the best pupil ever. That footwork drill was like a priceless piece of artwork around the 03:18 mark... Both you and Danny always offer that little bit extra and go that extra mile that takes your lessons off the chart... We'll be practicing that equivalent of the 3-pointer for footwork for months to come...
Coach no need to explain, your results speaks volume,as we say haters hate because they aren’t great! You’re a great coach keep the videos coming much respect!
Congrats to my fellow boxer and champion Danny Bodish (forgive me if I misspelled the name:) and Coach Tom Yankello and the World Class Boxing Channel. I just practiced this excellent drill as a southpaw (since I am a switch hitter:). Of course, I will continue to practice the drill because correct repetition and muscle memory is key. That’s why I downloaded it. I just want to thank you again, Coach Tom. With the utmost honesty and humility, I’m a 48 years young boxer, and my coach even gave me a key to the gym because I love my boxing coaches and my gym is part of my family, and also, because, with all honesty and humility, I’m the hardest working boxer in San Diego, CA. I’m blessed to train everyday. I just want to also express my appreciation to you Coach Tom because a lot of people on social media will say negative and inappropriate comments, and you don’t go down to their level. Anyways, May God always bless you and your family and gym, Coach Tom. Most Sincerely, Jeff “Rattlesnake” Railey 5X Champion Masters Amateur Boxer
Thank you again Coach Tom Yankello. I honestly mean what I said. May God bless you. I BELIEVE in my LORD JESUS. I BELIEVE in me. Sincerely, Jeff “Rattlesnake” Railey 5X Champion Masters Amateur Boxer

Peace Coach. I recently discovered this channel and I must say your videos are very informative. I have subscribed and I am learning a lot from this channel. I look forward to watching your videos and I use what I learn from you when training and sparring. This is a great channel.
Thank you for the insights on the paddles. I made the switch when I started training bigger guys who thought it was all about seeing how hard they can hit instead focusing on form
thanks coach. im using your tips for sanda (chinese boxing), and still helped me to improve, obviously with a little bit of distances adjustments. Thanks for all the videos, hope you make more, happy year. Cheers from Argentina.
Great comment regarding the muscles to bring the hand back on the paddles compared to the pads. Iv been using the double end bag a lot lately and noticed this compared to the heavy bag
Having watched that fight I can see it was very close but Danny came through and adapted enough to make the difference. If he can utilize his training from these years in his upcoming fights he will truly be a wicked threat and inspiration bringing back the lessons of the old great boxers for a new generation
The best way to start the new year is with yet another excellent training video. The footwork drill will allow a fighter to swarm opponents from angles that are difficult to defend against. Also now I am a believer in the virtues of paddles for training drills.
Great explanation on the paddles, thanks Tom. I wondered, and should have known there would be very interesting and analytical reasons behind your preference for them. As ever, just great content
There are advantages and disadvantages to using every tool; one possibly underappreciated advantage of the paddles is the wear and tear they save on the coach's joints compared to regular pads and mitts! You want your coach to be able to show up feeling good and with enthusiasm, not dreading the session because they feel like they got hit by a train and fatiguing early due to pain. They're also a great tool to introduce beginners to pad work in a friendly and approachable way. EDIT - he just said basically the same thing. 😊
Happy New Year guys. If you havnt already Coach Yankello could you do one on "in fighting". How to box with someone who has longer arms than you and you want to move in close to him.
Coach, because of you and your explanation I now have a $200 plus lighter wallet for these awesome paddles, lol. But I have to say well, well worth it for the sound and feel alone, these truly are the LV or Ferrari of Coaching Tools..
Great instruction as usual. Thanks. I gave a pair of those paddles to my trainer and he thinks they are great. And I gave the boxing hit sticks to my other trainer because he didn’t like those paddles. The hit sticks are also good because the trainer can hit you back with them for defense. Good for punch counters.
Happy New Year Coach and all us pupils. This channel keeps getting better and better... Loving the graphical instructional aids. 2021 just picked up!!!
What an incredible video to start 2021! Happy New year, coach Tom! May it be a great and prosperous to you and your family and everyone at World Class Boxing!
I agree with benefits of paddles 100%. Tainer for 103 yrs and not only do pads beat up the coach but has disadvantages for the fighter. Best thing a fighter can do is shadow box. Allows you to extend like the paddles. Paddles give just enuf feedback to make them effective
Great footwork, great technique!!! Perfect explanation of the torso rotations which are fundamental. Happy new year Master and Thanks for the lessons 🙏👍
Hey Coach. Just wanted to let you know Title owes you a commission on the paddles I just purchased 😀. About six weeks ago I could not find them on their website. When I asked about them, they weren’t sure what product I was talking about. I responded with a link to one of your videos and said “I’m talking about the paddles Tom Yankello is using in the attached videos” Happy New Year!
Nice footwork and angles! When you pivot for the hook when you take that first perpendicular angle(after you slide for the first hook to the body); how do you defend against an overhand right? Is your only option more footwork like pivoting out of the line of fire?
Godamnit. I always throw a straight right when I do that move after the step hook I step back and throw the cross. Can't believe I've never thrown a hook
Very much appreciate your content coach. I assume you feel that Winning paddles are worth the price? I currently have both Rival and Hayabusa paddles but don't love either (blisters, don't flex enough, etc...). Thank you!
