Oak View is Huntington Beach, Huntington Beach is Oak View. It is not any less, or any better than the rest of Huntington Beach. This documentary shows us what it's like growing up in Oak View, the culture in Oak view, and gives us a voice on the social and racial injustice in which this community faces.

I grew up in this community , back in the 80's up until the early 2000's , now I live in south Riverside County , but this video sure brought great memories of where I come from.

I love this little film. I grew up there in the 80's when it was rough and South side ruled and the park had a big pumpkin and a slide in it, and we were one of only a few white kids in the neighborhood. I went to Oakview School and I loved my life in that neighborhood, and it will always have a piece of my heart.

I moved to oak view a year ago and my neighbors have been nothing but warm and welcoming! Nobody cares what race you are here they just welcome you into their community!

621 Goodhope St. Is where I use to live when I was a little boy... Went to Sun Set Elementary school from K to the 3rd grade then moved to the Riverbuttom. Brings back memories!

Thank you for posting this, It is wonderful to see such a young man showing the community. I grew in Oak View on Cypress in the late 70's until the 90's and I was born and raised there as one of the only white families in the neighborhood. I went to Oak view back in the 80's and went to the center. I have so much pride to this day for that community, and my heart will forever belong there. It is wonderful to know that the kids you show are the children of those who I grew up with. This video gives me back so many memories, I appreciate it so much, Keep up the good work, and thank you for showing people our community full of love.
