Dash 8 Takeoff Grenada(cockpit). Serdeczne dzięki dla realizatora tego filmu, ukazującego perfekcyjną współpracę pilotów tego samolotu, ale jednocześnie, ogrom skomplikowanych czynności, jakie muszą wykonać piloci. Jestem pełen podziwu do wiedzy i umiejętności pilotów. Serdeczne pozdrowienia.
I have spent more time in Dash 8's then most pilots (at least it feels like it) I hop from one small city to another for business and this is the plane most of the small regional carriers use. I am very familiar with that engine sound...
Great video! simply love the dash 8. Dash's no matter if it is the 6, 7 or the 8 are such amazing regional workhorses. And the latest of them the Q400 is such a marvelous machine.
Great video! I'm a Trini but lived in the states since 11 years old. Joined US Naval Aviation in 84, flew S3-A Viking off aircraft carrier. (CV-64). Had planned to fly for BeeWee or Air Carribean but developed kidney failure so flying days are over. Liat is a good airline and inter island flying is the best! ( I especially love the approach into St. Vincent ). Good luck to you young man. Follow your dreams and don't let ANY of these idiots on RUclips dissuade you. Don't worry about money or the industry, just get your ratings as early as possible and build time. You will get where you want to be eventually. Personally I would consider staying with the Carribean regionals, it's challenging beautiful stick and rudder flying not the boring AP high altitude big boy stuff. Enjoy!
Bad ass video. And the zooming in and out was perfect. Good balance between instruments and what's happening outside. Brings back my childhood days (I lived near point saline and that sound is so nostalgic) Too bad they don't make the 200-300 anymore.
I enjoyed the video, I would love to be behind the controls of a a Dash 8, seems like a very healthy, in the power sense aircraft. I have flown a Dash 8 all over the Southwest when America West was flying with Mesa Air as the contract carrier. I was always fascinated by the wheels as the bobbed up and down at takeoff before being retracted. There was a lot of give in those struts giving the impression this bird was doing its best to not let go of terra firms, (one of those, you had to be there deals). As for a regional aircraft, I put it tied with CRJs in the discomfort scale, but a lot noisier with more lateral type vibration. Given a choice any EMB is a much better alternative. It does seem to be a lot more fun to fly, although to a guy who has never flown a bird with its wing position, I think landing must be a completely different animal.
Wow... this brings back fond memories of my first airline job flying the Dash for Brymon Airways in the UK. I know some of those aircraft ended up at Liat. I wonder if I ever flew this aircraft?
Decent video - try turning off the shutter on the camera to avoid the electronic displays "swimming", also turn off AGC (or compressor, or automatic level control, or whatever it's called on your camera) to avoid the sudden changes in audio volume based on what you're pointing the camera at.
To all those a-holes that complained about the filming and camera action do you realize he is just a kid? Go make your own cockpit videos and post them so everyone can see how it is supposed to be done. Oh... you don't have access to the jump seat of a commercial airplane like this kid? Right, I figured as much.
As you continue your video career, remember to think ahead as to what you want to capture. For this video, the front window shot at takeoff would be the best shot. Don't get caught up on the instruments too much. They are a part of it, but not the main shot. Slow down your panning, and adjust your shutter to eliminate the back-light disturbances. Once airborne, you could pan more to the instruments. Maybe a wide angle view to capture as much as possible. Aside from that, not a bad first video. Keep making changes to perfect what you want your viewers to see, or find out what your viewers enjoy to see in airline videos.
+jtvincent1 I wanted to see more of the instruments during startup and taxi. The constant movement does have a dizzying effect along with the auto exposure.
I love the sound of the propellers start of slowly and goes into a high speed 💯💯💯💯

I think flying on this route is probably one of the most rewarding
Very nice!!! I bet every take off must be exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time!

Awesome video! I'm a little stoned while watching and when they were taxing down the runway I thought they were trying to takeoff. Blew my mind.
Realy enjoy
Full respect to the man in front of the plane for waiting for what seemed like hours
Great take off, couldn't see a thing!

Regardless of the so called poor camera work still has 8.5 million views. way tah go! that alot of views for aviation
great video
Very good
yo dammn great. Am taking aviation degree in the university. when am done a pilot am gonna be. wish ya all good pilots!!
I feel like I have vertigo after watching this vid and a bionic headache from the light focusing in and out.
This gave me a headache. Lots of up and down right/left, bright, dark. Nice to see the control check just prior to takeoff.
GroundAndSky Nice
I Love all that😍✈🎶

Wish there was a commentary for the video. Also what's the two packs of sugar for?
awesome
nice
i would love to see the s.o.p manual for liat on the dash 8. didnt know they pull the props back at such a low altitude
for noise level and also to reduce the engine stress you reduce the props to 1050 rpm
Interesting to see it being trimmed manually. No autopilot?
so cooll
what an take off
nice take of
Very nice but it could have been longer
V nice
Video stabilization did some strange things here ;) Thanks for sharing this takeoff
Second best prop sound only to the RR DART. Dash 8 -100 beats atr any time

I cannot understand that what is the wheel next to the flap liver. The pilot just rotating that.... And what's the usage of the object?

+jtvincent1 I wanted to see more of the instruments during startup and taxi. The constant movement does have a dizzying effect along with the auto exposure.
+jtvincent1 Actually adds a different perspective. There are already thousands of videos showing the view out the front window on takeoff.
+jtvincent1 and also sort that constant sound dip thing that kept happening throughout the video, it was doing my tits in haha!
+Keith Reed What the hell???
I liked the video despite the stupid comments; don't worry they're all jealous of you guys, nicely done

What are the black and white wheels next to the throttles? Sometimes I see them spinning, sometimes not.
