- Seymour Narrows is a section of Discovery Passage known for strong tidal currents and whirlpools. It was once considered the most dangerous stretch of water on the inside passage of Vancouver Island. Surge Narrows Provincial Park is one of the locations of incredible tidal rapids caused by the convergence of two flood tides. The currents reach 15-16 knots in each of these locations. The Okisollo standing wave is created when the tide floods in. Fast currents create a standing wave upwards of 10 feet.

How about the Skookum Chuk?
for a real fun time...go run Nakwakto Rapids at Seymour Inlet or Roaring Hole Rapids at Nepah Lagoon....
Tremble island didn’t get its name from nothing. Running through there at max tide was one of the craziest things I’ve done.
A couple days ago, my neighbour told me that tidal rapids go past English Bay Beach in Vancouver. If I go there in the summer, I will have to walk along the shoreline and see how fast the water is moving before I try swimming in it. Or else I might get carried away and no one will hear from me again.
I lived by English bay there is no tidal rapids
