You compared the Cloudflyer with Neutral Running Shoes, but this is On‘s Stability Shoe... In fact it is the ONLY Shoe out there (and I had them all) with which I could overcome me Tendinopathy and some serious Knee pain. Yes it stiff, and I just love it. What has getting me into my Problems was the React Foam bullshit from Nike (Infinity Run and Miler) and the Cushion Overkill from Hokas Arahi, so Running in the Cloudflyer was like a cure for me.
I would recommend them to all with Heel and Knee Pain.
Interesting what you say as one of my runners who suffers with that swears by them
@@FordyRuns I also love the Gel DS Trainer, everybody seems to hate them for being hard as a brick, so I seem to have a crush for stiff shoes... but the Ons are superior on longer Runs and you literally „feel“ that your form is just right... hard to describe. Maybe you have to have some problems with your gait to love these shoes.
*I wear half size larger than Nike running shoe and tread was compromised at 160 miles and gone at 190 miles (a single month) of pavement.*

I’m not a runner, but I’m a student who’s on my feet all day. These are even more comfortable than my cloudswift ones, which I still absolutely love. I used to be a Nike/adidas gal, but the ons are so comfortable! Great everyday shoes for sure!
I been running on brooks ghost for the past decade and recently started with On cloudflyer. Surprisingly I am more comfortable in the On couldflyer.
well i actually love the cloudflyers. a fashion shoe is for me an adidas ultra boost but nut an on running shoe.
Is this a good shoe with people having overpronated feet?
Tried it for the first time today I think my foot it just wider than everyone else’s cause these fit perfect. I wanted the saucony endorphin speeds but they are to narrow
Instead of using this shoe for running, do you think it would be a better choice to use as a comfortable work shoe in a job that requires one to be on their feet all day and allows one to wear sneakers for work??? 🤔

Excellent stability shoe especially if you don’t want to walk/ run on marshmallows like Hokas! If you have foot problems this is likely a good shoe for you.
1. What do you do with the extra shoes that you don’t prefer or use regularly? 2. Have you done a video about how you film your runs? Clearly there are some logistics involved. Great work as always!

Had 3 pairs of cloudflyer from 2017 to 2020. Always bought them on sale. Agree with the firmer ride but the only reason I bought them was due to the fact that the cloudflyer solved my problem of having pinching issues at my mid arch. My main problem is that my forefoot width is the same as my mid arch width causing countless issues with mid arch pinching after running 2km. Tried the new version of the cloudflyer and the pinching issue came back. Running on cloud x now. Sole durability for the cloudflyer is another issue to be aware of

I’m with you it’s a brand I have a love/hate relationship with. Ran my first ever marathon in the OG cloudflyers, however I’ve seen with them and it happened to me that they ripped down the side of the toe box, loads of photos on Twitter about this, bought the flow and swift and had the same heel problem. Basically every pair I’ve had fell apart. I really want them to do well as they’re a newish/smallish brand and I think more competition in the market is a good thing but quality needs to be addressed

Same! Out of nowhere it ripped the whole way down the side. And It wasn't heavy wear. Just everyday normal wear.
Excited to see how their subscription shoe in 2021 goes. Love their design aesthetics and general brand messaging, just want them to make even one or two really good running shoes. The Cloudflow is probably the closest they've come. They have a lot of athletes running for them now, so I'm hoping we're going to hit cycles where feedback results in some special shoes moving forward.

I totally agree! I've had 3 pairs - late last year picked up the new Cloudswift. Still hard as a brick. It felt great in the store on the floor (which was a rubber ish - very cool running store!) but outside it was a heck no. I do like the regular On (the original) for walking at times but that's it.

I have these shoes very comfortable for my size, but I hate it when they get the slightest bit of moisture in the holes it sounds like im running on my dogs squeeky toy its so annoying, along with the stones you pick up as well.
I have an original pair of Cloudflow, which I loved to begin with......now I have shoes like the NB Rebel, Brooks Hyperion Tempo, Altra Escalante etc I don’t use the Cloudflow and won’t be buying anymore.....unfortunately Chris you are spot on with this review and the general comments on ON IMO 👍

I've always been put off with On shoes due to the idea that they'd just get stones etc stuck in the gaps 👍🏃

I had the earlier version on the cloud flyer and kept getting stones stck in them which wrecked my runs
Sounds like they added a millimeter to their drop from the old style. I'm still trying to figure out their big benefit with adding Helion to every shoe they are now putting out. I loved my first pair of Cloudflyers because they were such a smooth ride for me, but yes, the price On asks for puts it off for a lot of people. I will say that in a pre-COVID world where we all lined up for races, On shoes definitely got you some attention and then Nike came along with the Vaporflys (and better results). Oh, and I laughed so hard when you talked about their shoelaces; totally get it that they are not for everyone.
I think this will be the last pair I get they have gone too far towards lifestyle
Back when I started running I only ran in On shoes, thought they were the best thing ever. But when I started trying other brands, I never went back to On, a conventional midsole is just better in every way.

It’s a stability shoe.
I’ve said it before. I use to be a big On fan but not anymore. Even my local running store have said On are now positioning themselves as a lifestyle brand. As you say, way better shoes out there.
Yeah they’ve made the switch and I think this is the last pair I’ll review unless something changes

This review needs some work. I had the last version and now this one and it's a major, much improved upgrade. Fit, midsole and ride are much better. I don't agree that this is a fashion shoe, but it is a great running shoe for those who like a firmer, responsive ride. And the laces are fine. They don't break and if they are too long, double tie them. I think runners with weak feet will not like On shoes.

On: I’ve bought 3 pairs since their early days. TOO firm to run in. Total lifestyle shoe, they look cool and that’s about it. Also, God forbid you get pebbles inside the outsole pockets.

No on On.., can’t do it.., I tried the cloud stratus, and thought it may be me.., it wasn’t.., it’s the shoe.

I had five ON shoes ans All of them have crackes at the side, where it get compressed during a walk. Unfortunately this happened always after a few weeks. I have thrown away appr 850€ . These are the Most expensive and Short-lastings shoes: Never Ever
Like running bare foot on rocks. Hard as hell. Wear worst than hokka and as everyone knows, the stone pickup is annoying.

I’ve had no interest in them from day 1 just from the looks/ look like cheap dollar store shoes … it’s nice to hear my suspicions confirmed. I’m sure they’re decent everyday shoes but yea not gonna try them for running after this review! I trust the experts
