Went to Long meadow earlier in the year and did the route as you on our bikes.....Glorious!
Site was full of deer morning and evening !

This is definitely one of the good sites with the woods access. You can get right over to Ringwood and the top part of the New Forest from there

Long meadow is a lovely site, we have been many times over the years, every day lots of deer come onto the site and roam freely amongst the campers. The walk into Brockenhurst is only about 25mins for supplies or to visit the pub.

Very much agree, its great for kids, dogs and old men like me :). Easy walk to the pub off road
