Oh Freshwater beach, Ha, I've actually stayed there. further up on the map on the left than you were, I was almost in the top corner. Also judging by the drone shot, the place was pretty much dead. It was FULL of kids when I was there.. Couldn't get near the pool. Great gym though. The Jurassic fossils on the rock falls along the beach were pretty interesting too, spent a good bit of time walking down that beach as it seemed to go on forever, I only turned round as I was unsure whether I was going to get cut off by the tide. 👌
You should try the one at Putsborough... £45 a night, not allowed on the grass, no electric, no water, no showers and the toilet block doesn't even have hot taps. I still use it though haha as it's a great location.
Camping is about freedom - Expensive Camp sites are there to be seen and herd - As long as it's got a basic toilet and water and a GREAT view who really wants more? Recent trip to Cornwall was £27.00 + £8.00 hook up and dogs galore. Each to their own.
I would avoid campsite 2 like the plague! Please elaborate on how they wanted you to park, it sounds bizarre. I was turned away from a campsite similar to 2 because they said I wasn't in a "proper" campervan. True, but does it matter? I don't think it's fait to compare the two sites, chalk and cheese.
@@ShannonLawford Yea it's for fire regulations, designed to make sure two awnings (if used) aren't facing each other as one could catch the other on fire easier. I have a Euro van with the door on the other side to UK vans so I'm quite often asked to park the other way round

No way I would pay that to be so close to other vans, I prefer wild camping it's free 😁
@@GeordieOnTour I like wild camping too, but it’s becoming harder and harder to find nice remote scenic places which is a shame!
A pretty fair judgement, but as you say it really all depends on your circumstances.

@@davidpiper3652 interesting comment! I think they just wanted me to have the door on a certain side of the pitch for “safety reasons” 🤔
