- Inside the Red Dot Shooting Range in New Castle, nearly 1,000 guns are sold each year. Each sale is reported to state police via paper copies, along with the sales from hundreds of other dealers.

Criminals will be relieved that this legislation won't affect them.
It is closing off one of their available avenues of access. Bringing those who voluntarily and willingly sell to criminals to Justice. If the only avenue they have left is for stealing firearms that will certainly cut down the number of homicide related deaths. No clear way to rid the final piece yet
why would this not affect the illegal gun manufacturers?
@@hevdread what are you smoking . It’s sales not manufacturing.
And the point of the comment above is that 100 percent of criminals , don’t walk into a store to buy their gun .
@@hevdread there are no illegal gun manufacturers. Americans have had the legal right to make their own firearm since the US Constitution was signed.
@@henrydillshaw3442 What im smoking is of little relevance, but its organic and out door grown.
However the point is: the more track-able information there is on individual guns the easier it will be to track when and where they entered the black market...
Because as much as 2a freaks like to complain about criminals and guns. They like to ignore the fact that 99.999% of fire arms are made in legally run factories. After which some of them get siphoned off onto the black market. SO somewhere in the manufacturing/ distribution chain there are also Criminals planted IN the system...But lets not worry about them...
So, basically, a gun registry.
Yep
Is that problematic?
Maybe watch the video before making a comment?
@Muslim_Student it's problematic for the Right Wing wackos that hoard guns so they can try and murder congress AGAIN when the election doesn't go their way... it is not problematic for normal Americans because as the video clearly said, they've already been doing this forever. They just want to change from paper to electronic.
@@Muslim_Student yes, it is problematic. However, FFLs are supposed keep records locally in case they are needed.
Shall not infringe is something government doesnt respect
Of course. But we keep voting these politicians into office. Democrats and Republicans both infringe on rights, especially the 2nd Amendment. Reagan was a Republican and signed the 1986 Firearm Owners Protection Act that banned the manufacture of machine guns. 100% an infringement upon American rights and the 2nd Amendment.

Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna follow any law that is Unconstitutional.
Then feel free to get your butt ready for when you go to prison snowflake 😂
The only law we follow here in Arizona is the second amendment
this is already on the books and has been for a long time. ffls are required to keep a log book of every gun that enters or exits their inventory for a certain number of years. if you've bought a gun in the last decade or so from an ffl, they likely still have their log book and can find your purchase.
Actually, I think this would qualify under the government arming the militia. They have to know they did in fact supply the arms.
It's constitutional, Lincoln had a similar law back in the day federally. It didn't work, that's why we don't do it.
so.... Laws are the answer? How about addressing the mental health issues that are rampant now? Treat the problem, instead of ignoring it and blaming inanimate objects!
Ah the typical excuse but when its the other side there just "thugs" 😂
Reparations are the only way to save America's soul or things are just going to keep getting worse.
Mental health is a multi-billion dollar industry, if not trillion. They're going to keep making mental health worse for 2 reasons:
First, it's profitable. More mental health problems, more treatments being sold and tax payer money to subsidize these institutions, and more profit for the people in charge.
Secondly it's a way to disarm America. If we use mental health as a measure on whether or not somebody gets to practice their second amendment rights, and we see an increase the number of people with mental health issues, they can prevent more and more people from owning guns.
It's absolute corruption, and the side effects are that the mental health epidemic is hurting our nation's security and stifling our economy, all so a handful of people can have more control.
The next chapter of history is gonna be pretty dark, lots of different corrupt nations with power colliding, none of them seem to have a good moral direction.

Fun fact: Criminals dont buy guns at gun stores.
Nothing really new, just going from Paper to Digital.
No change for the criminal element.
So many of us legally own guns and do nothing bad with them. Im a CCW permit holder in PA. I think 1/3 of all of us in PA legally carry daily. Now youre gonna track us but the criminals are the ones committing crimes. This feels wrong. We already go through so many checks at point of sale! So why?!?!
The owner of the shop wants to be lazy and careless. When you buy a car you have to go through a lot more red tape then buying a gun.
It seems like the government wants to be lazy by shoving their work onto someone else... this costs people money and time for a system that the government mangled, not the gun sellers.
False. Stop spreading misinformation ya big dummy
Yall are a special kind of short bus riders if you think they dont know you already have that gun.
How? It’s a pretty smooth ride!
Legal firearms are not the problem
What equipment? They already fill out paperwork. It's just changing it for paper to Digital. A computer or tablet is all that is needed.
Just another burden? Oh man, you have to do more work at your job to make it easier to track firearms. Unreal, what world do people live in.
Compliance should not be an issue for someone that sells a device used to Kill
or punch holes in paper.
They use computers to sell to the consumer they should be able to share that data with the Authorities.
Like hole punches or knives?
Track and trace vehicles. How about knives? How about drugs?
Are you stupid or something? What do you think a vehicle identification number is?
Censorship from YT is pathetic and only for left leaning comments. Vehicle Identification Number.

So glad I live in Florida. I feel bad for you guys in Pittsburgh.😢
Just like law enforcement always says, "if you're not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about"....
This is good News
Another reason I would not live in the People's Republic of Pennsylvania. Just the first step towards firearm confiscation from law abiding citizens . . . . but not criminals.
ffls are already required to track firearms sales for a certain number of years.
So, what? You’re telling me as a business you don’t keep track of your inventory?
Legislate more mental health issues not more useless gun laws. Our government only wants more POWER!
It’s literally just digitizing the process that already exists; instead of shops sending paper forms and then the government having to digitize those forms, they’re just having stores submit them digitally…
So what do you reckon the idiots that came up with this legislation are going to do about the firearms that are stolen and actually used in crimes?
I ordered a gun online and I still had to get a background check before getting the gun
That's not the gun store's job.
It is now
@@sangha1486 The law didn't pass yet.
That "federal officer" could barely hold the revolver straight without shaking like a literal pig some people don't need to have guns 😅
Oh I'm sure that's the problem with them getting to the bottom of gun crimes not the fact that they drag their feet and make things priority over them. Happened to me
No, it's NONE OF ANYONE'S BUSINESS when there are legal gun sales.
It's illegal to "share" 4473 forms; doubly so in electronic format.
This makes an illegal state and federal registry of gun owners.
This is just a over reach by the state
Gun dealers already have to keep a sales record
How is asking them to do those forms digitally instead of on paper an “over reach”? You already acknowledge they have to keep those records…what’s the difference between making them keep paper records or digital records?
Police tracking guns at crime scenes don't prevent the crime from happening. Most crime scenes don't have the gun that was used. So that's a BS ploy by police and politicians.
Too bad for the gun shop owners. They'll just have to tough it out. When you go into a line of work profiting off merchandise specifically designed to kill expect a few regulations and some paperwork. When I buy a new car it takes a few hours of paperwork to get it done, guns shouldn't be easier to buy than a car.
I'm a bit confused here what's the big issue? They're already providing the information so it's not a privacy issue, from what this is saying the only thing they're doing is taking the same form and rather than submitting it through paper they're going ahead and punching it in on a computer.... Welcome to the modern era.
They already do that when you buy a firearm. 😂
Funny , how a women on a movie set is shot & killed , and the owner of that serialized firearm is never identified ?
Forwarding sales to the CLEO of the county/city has been required for decades. Its up to the CLEO to keep them. Most dont. Because paper requires storage space and electronic records requires money and data storage.
The Criminals write the laws
The government will supply a well armed militia. The citizens, in general, are the militia; the army is army. This would qualify in the govenment knowing they armed the militia and i do believe them knowing who used said weapons illegally is important in both, isnt it?
As a gun owner this seems pretty sensible.
Bot.... Ghost guns for us then
@@johnnydayton1431 I don’t think someone with a different opinion is a bot. Also if my friend or family member was killed and this legislation helped the police find the murderer and bring him to justice I’d support it. If law abiding citizens are really law abiding then they shouldn’t be concerned with something as simple as a this. I’m a gun owner and wouldn’t feel threatened by it. You need to learn some goddamn reading comprehension.
Gun stores already keep a record of every single sale for however many years.
The only thing this would do is require sellers to make a copy of that already existing list, and give it to law enforcement.
If a gun with a serial number is found they wouldve been given that information anyway.
You still get to keep and bear arms, just keep being a law abiding citizen, report stolen firearms as soon as you are aware they are stolen, and this will never affect you in any way.

Buy expensive equipment? What? A computer? Quit crying like babies and do the right thing.
That CZ is beautiful
Why is this a issue. Seems like a legit way to keep track.
There is already a legit way😂
Two reasons. One, gun owners are crybabies who cry victim for every minor inconvenience to their cushy life.
Two, many gun owners have a side business selling to Cartels or gangs.
Ahh what about inforcing the laws we have Now,hold the criminals accountable, and keep them in jail ohhh yah thats right that never happens
The first thing they plea bargain away is the gun charge
How does this help anyone? Mostly because where the guns are coming from these guns are in a circulation. They do not come from gun stores usually. That being said, does that mean if someone robs you for your weapon, you are automatically suspected of a crime? This seems counter intuitive . The solution isn't get all the new guns on a registry, it's more detectives in sting operations on illegal fire arm sales.
This is the computer age. Why in the world do ANY dealers of potentially deadly items think they shouldn’t have to handle certain information via computer? When I was in law enforcement in the the largest non-federal police force on the planet, I was amazed how many things were handled with typewriters and word processors. Even after those finally went away it was still a while before the fax machines were removed. The cost of doing proper business is to keep up technologically. In this specific case, children are being murdered far too regularly for even the shop owners to be this reluctant to update.
They just want to data base who has what gun and where.
It's not like guns are cars.
And?
they've been doing this for years now. atf admitted it a long time ago.
@freddygarfunkle8947 you like your own reply. All you can say is and? It's idiots like you that want to start a fight. Go back to bidens basement homie.
Why do you people come looking for a fight. Over a simple comment that has nothing negative in it. Get over yourselves.
Same thing happens in Michigan. My buddy is a collector. Once he orders from a FFL. Firearm comes in. Has to run a form to Sheriff's office, pay a fee. Then wait 3-5 days to have the firearm registered with them, go pick up the form, run back to his FFL, pay the transfer fee and pick up his firearm. It's BS.
If you are a law abiding safe gun owner this absolutely doesn’t have any effect on you but any time any regulation is taken you all flap your arms and cry they are taking my guns which is absolutely NOT happening the bottom line don’t break any laws and your guns will never be taken away
