🤔 The Day the Music Died is a reference to the rock 'n' roll tragedy that went down in flames out of the Midwestern sky on Feb. 3, 1959, when the careers of three American music legends were unfortunately cut short as a plane carrying Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. Richardson (a.k.a The Big Bopper) crashed in Clear Lake, Iowa. It was not Lennon that the reference was made…but Buddy Holly and his mates.
