How to cut fringing 'in the hoop - Sweet Pea's Fringe Backpack

    This is a large backpack that can be made in 6x10 or 7x12 size hoops and has some great pockets, zips and design features to make it really functional. This is a ITH in the hoop machine embroidery design.
    Make this for yourself or as a gift for loved ones.
    There is a total of 6 blocks required for the bag, with 7 different panels included (two different flaps are included, one with fringe and one without).
    Two sets of instructions are included with this design, one on how to make the individual blocks and the other set of instructions outlines how to assemble the bag.
    There is a fair bit of machine sewing required and we recommend you are of an intermediate level.
    Final Dimensions (approx.):
    6x10 - 30cmW x 26cmL x 8cmD (12” x 10” x 3”)
    7x12 - 35cmW x 29cmL x 9cmD (13 ¾” x 11 ½” x 3 ½ “)

    Designs are provided in 9 different embroidery formats. The formats included are: DST, EXP*, HUS, JEF, PEC, PES, VIP, VP3 and XXX.
    *BMP and INF files are also provided, these are recommended to be used with the EXP files for Bernina machines.
    SVG files are included for cutting machines. Please note the SVG format can be converted to FCM within the Brother Scan n Cut software if required.

    Love the fringing, but I have a question. Do you have to have designs that are made specifically for fringing? I can't imagine just using any design works. Thanks for the info!

      Your're totally correct, fringe designs are specific to how they are digitised.

    If you catch the loops, do they pull out and ruin the fringe?

      They seem quite well secured but that's why I've shown two different cutting options. Some people seem to have more to get snagged on that others. If you're unsure, trim the coloured row of underside stitches to give the single thread fringing effect.

      Have you watched the video? On the reverse side of the work, cut the Bobbinfil thread only. This will release the embroidery stitches on the front and give the loop fringe. Hope this helps.
