    Hi guys. Simon and Gemma said I have to pop over to support you. So here I am, not a sailor, sorry. Just a retired Architect with a love of all things that float and have sails. Looking forward to following you both into the future. Looks. Like I have some catching up to do. Maybe a spot of binge watching needed.

      Hi Theresa! Wonderful to have you join the Indiana crew. All are welcome sailors and non sailors. We were definitely not sailors before we started this journey two years ago. If you do have a binge watch you will see how much we have learnt in a very short space of time. 😅 We hope you enjoy! Lauren & Chris ☺️

    Good review , I think it helps if you’re going to such a show with a little bit of a plan in mind of things that you need to be looking for or purely just go for the entertainment value. A lack of sailboats to look at never usually bothers me as looking at boats that are totally out of my price range is depressing and oooh and Ahing about the color choices and type of faucet the builder used in boat, which is about all you can do with a boat show Gets old pretty fast( getting ideas is not much fun either as implication is …..)
    Thanks for pointing out Gemma’s and Simons contribution!
    Cheers Warren

      So right! We don’t want to see fancy boats we can’t afford either! 😂😅 ah yeah great to see Gemma and Simon, they are awesome.

    For a real Sailboat Show, visit Annapolis, Maryland, USA. When you finally get across to the US, plan on spending the month of October in the Chesapeake Bay Area. It will be my pleasure to host you on dry land.

      Hi Robert!! Oh wow that is a lovely offer, 🙏🏼☺️ It might be another year or two yet, but we’d love to go to Annapolis boat show, it looks HUGE!!

    Hi both - thanks for review we were also there Saturday - but don’t see you both😢 we went up as looking for bits for our new yacht (finally arriving next week) and we’re interested In tenders, electric outboards, shipshape bedding etc and various chandlery bits and pieces - was useful without being outstanding , like you it did seem from advertising very much power and I land focussed but as you say worth the trip. Don’t get me started on the working charges 🤬 but would I go again next year, maybe

    • @SailingIndiana
      @SailingIndiana  Год назад

      Hi Mik! Oh damn that’s a shame we didn’t get to meet… but sounded like you were there with a purpose!! Great synopsis, I think you’ve captured it well. If you’ve already got a boat, there is definitely enough there to warrant the trip, plus all the add-one like the stage and pool. But with a couple of sailboats there, we think it would make all the difference!

    Aaah, thx for the honest review. I went to the RYA dinghy & water sports show this weekend, full well knowing there will be little to no big boats sailing stuff, but it’s right on my doorstep so couldn’t resist to go for ulterior motives 😂

    • @SailingIndiana
      @SailingIndiana  Год назад

      Ah thanks so much for watching☺️ The dinghy show looked great! Hope you enjoyed it?😅🙌🏼

    Hi guys, I went last year, not enough yachtsman stuff to draw me back this year, plus it was about £25 entrance fee, glad I got a very good discount with RYA membership. But saying that hopefully the show is a start of better things to come.

    • @SailingIndiana

      Hey! Yeah last year was the first year, but it’s definitely evolved and will continue to do so as it responds to the audiences. Hopefully next year it’s even better! 🙏🏼⛵️

    Last year's highlights; beer wasn't too expensive ... met sailing buddies from elsewhere, got hammered in Rose & Crown, saw Tom Cunliffe on stage ... not quite enough to draw us back this year!
    Thanks for the update :-)

    • @SailingIndiana
      @SailingIndiana  Год назад +1

      Great to hear your thoughts! Ah yes, the Rose & Crown🙌🏼😅 Sounds like you made a day of it!haha
      We’re the same, it’s a great chance to meet up with some of our sailing friends and catch a few speakers on the live stage! It will be interesting to see how they approach the third year there, hoping for some more sailing content⛵️

    Glad you didn't get hit by the car. Wanted to say thanks for this vid. We have a lot of boat shows near us that looks like they cater to the power boat community, but watching your video on the Boatlife Event makes me think that there will be good stuff for sailboats. Just will not be any sailboats to crawl around on.

    • @SailingIndiana
      @SailingIndiana  Год назад +1

      Haha! Not looking where you are going through a carpark is not recommended! Thank you so much for watching and for
      This great comment. Really pleased we got our thoughts across well and showed that it really does have a lot to offer sailboats too! 🙏🏼⛵️

    Great and useful video. Last year I did go and I enjoyed chatting with you both. The lack of sailor stuff last year did put me off. It’s a difficult event to pull off because exhibitors won’t come unless there is relevant footfall and punters like me won’t come unless there is relevant stalls plus entertainment.. Maybe you should do the sailing marketing for them?

    • @SailingIndiana
      @SailingIndiana  Год назад

      Thanks so much for watching, Peter! We did have a good chat it was a little quiet for us this year, with not so many people at our meet and greet (or we’re not as famous as we thought😉😆).
      For a show in its second year, we can see how they wanted to pull in the different markets of fishing/inland/etc. so it might have created a void where sailing fell through… But let’s hope next year it all comes together for them, with a stronger showing for us sailors🙌🏼
      Otherwise, we got a lot out of it this year and saw some great people band brands. So still worth it at least for us.

    How cam you say electric outboard is better? You’ve researched how every aspect of the electric motor is made? Or where the power comes from to charge it?

    It is about cash, give me the money. Power boats are dead unless you have 10 mil in the bank. Think fuel will ever go down. Got a wee outboard costs about 30 quid every time. that's just popping out for four hours to fish.
