Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Atlanta Thank you for the upload!
Thanks Kristy!
@@istvanmagi473 its karen!
I don't understand... why is there no en passent played at 12 minutes, checking the king, and winning the rook...?
I love how all the kids just say yeah when Ben says something!
Archer Watson Right Archer?
He's, he's building to a crazy comment. Give him a chance. ~ International Grandmaster Ben Finegold
I think I rewound that twice to listen to and laugh over and over again.
In the description it says this was recorded on the 7th even though it is only the 4th
Very suspicious
Thank you for reuploading!
John Juanda - did you have trips?
@@emailjwr Trips are for kids.
It's like deja vu all over again
Very suspicious..
"He's crushed, he's busted, he's lost... you know he's not the boss because he's crushed, busted, and lost." Took about 4 decades, but a worthy Official Video for the lyrics.
The kid has the most hearty and contagious laungh ever
This is so funny, yesterday I played the player from the first game in a local coffeehouse .. true story !
Life is strange that way. Very suspicious.
Small world!
It felt cool hearing you talk about UAE. I don't know why. I'm not from here but I live here.
Dangit, just got my snacks ready to enjoy while watching another Ben Finegold video, only to discover that it's a rerun! Sigh.
YES!!!!! GM Ben :)
GO BEN!
GO BEN!!
Hey is it possible you could do a video playing a few games against the people in the class? just an idea.
11:11 black can push the pawn to c2, if the queen takes it he can take on b4 with the knight. Of course, white can just move the queen to c1, but still, it's worth trying I think.
Are these 5 second games with -0.25 decrement per move, or what?
Dear Ben, I got a question about the 'en passant' rule. In the Kokarev-Al Omary Game, could not have Al-Omary taken the B2 pond as it moved to B4 en passant? Was he unable to do so because he had just taken the pond on C3?
You can only take en passant when your pawn is on your 5th rank, not 6th
Also it's "pawn" for reference :)
@@aleksakocijasevic6613 Thank you very much
@@cagrusgracchus No problem :)
Correct. If your pawn's on C3 and you try to capture en passant your opponent gets mad and calls the director. Then you lose. Unless you're Magnus. Then you capture your opponents king and lose, but the director goes back in time to fix it because it's illegal for the World Champion to lose ever.
These games made me feel slightly better about my games. xd

Someone please explain why at 12:57 black doesn’t take B2 en passant with the pawn, forking king and rook?
Because that isn't how en passant works. Black's pawn has advanced one rank too far to make an en passant capture.
why is knight E5 a mistake ? at 16:00 it's threatening mate so after the response you can just win a piece and keep your bishop ?
Saw your comment after I posted mine
Be6 defends the threat and u dont take the pawn, its still good for white because the pawns are doubled BUT in your variation the king still can castle
In the video Ben promised to take the queen
Someone explain why black resigned (game 1, between 11-12:30 timestamp)? That makes no sense. Pawn b4, pawn taked en passent and checks the king and wins the free rook and promotes...
What am i missing?
Black can only capture en passent when a black pawn is on the 4th rank. The black pawn was on the 3rd rank, so en passent is nit an option.
You're missing an understanding of how en passant works. Oh snap
@@Noah-wv4td Holy hell!
Whose quote is that at 25:10?
Emory Tate
Why can't black en passant in the first game? Doesn't take to b2 work or do I misunderstand how that works
It really shows how CCSC Atlanta employees keep themselves busy by taking down previous video and uploading it again instead of just saying "fuck it," they really have to earn their keep. *smacks fist into his palm repeatedly* Ouch.
They get paid by the hour, so if it takes an hour to edit the video and re-upload.. Terrible.
@@Jacob-un3ql i know its a joke but its a split screen. it takes 10 minutes to do.
@@simonenoli4418 You know it's a joke but you give a serious answer anyway? Very suspicious..
Not into chess, but why not b4 n c3 pawn takes en passon?
not how it works. the opponents pawn has to move two squares and land on a square next to your pawn
do you think black remembered about en passant
Can't capture en passant with black unless pawn is on 4th rank right next to the pawn that moved 2 squares.
Second game, Ne5 wins,if you take the queen then Bf7 mate
Be6 defends though. Admittedly white is still much better
12:38 Why the heck can't black just en peasant the pawn and attack the rook with check, then after queen defends take rook with check and trade queens, being up a queen?
Edit: Answer= en peasant is for pawns on the fourth rank not third.
But still just sac the knight for the two pawns and the defense of your forward pawn with a possible discovered check. Also with knight follow up on the c5 pawn after the trade the position isn't completely over, black gains some tempo and possibly an even trade if he leaves the pawn undefended
@Ivo Yaglichev no the resulting position results in being a pawn down as you trade a piece for the 2 pawns + the third pawn you're gonna lose.
That's not how en passant works, although when I am tired a mistake like this can happen to me, in fact a couple of days ago I resigned in a position where I was slightly better but I had only one move which doesn't lose. I thought that that move was bad because of en passant so I resigned. Turns out my opponent can't play en passant in that position for the same reason en passant isn't possible at 12:38 in this video. The only move was f5 and I thought my opponent would play exf7+ en passant (my opponent's pawn was on e6). It was a Sicilian dragon position.
11 months later? Terrible!

Correct labels?? Terrible
