This was a week of many incidents! It was like a black cloud was hanging over my head but through it all I got through the week with my head held high. Keep on truckin' my friends!
The Rooneys ... i remember them at Newport Materials, i believe it was a father and 2 sons. And at the time those trucks had some wear and tear on them. They were some of my favorite drivers ,always nice . Hope they are still doing ok. Memories from one of my better operating jobs. But things changed drastically after i left and the plant was finally built after years of fighting the town. If only Mike Mancuso was still alive to see it built. After watching more of this video, i remember running the loader at Newport and our mixed pile was literally depleted ,but then... there was times the mixed pile was what i called 3 levels high .
There once was a dump trucking company in far west suburban Naperville Illinois named Joe Roths Naperville Trucking he had the fastest fleet of dump trucks in the 1960s & 70s they were Hendricksons with Automatic transmissions some had Detroits some Caterpillar drivers kept equipment clean & greased drivers were in uniform polished boots bow ties and Garrison caps on super professionals super fast and excellent safety record in the end the company just became a truck parts & service company well big daddy you must be getting excited about the new ride just don’t let it reflect your Hat size In the mean time I am going to get This Old House crew & Boston PBS and get you on the show to discuss your trade & how it relates to the construction industry
Im from southern Oklahoma. Right on the Texas border. You can see Texas out my front door. Was wanting to stop by and say hi for a trip coming up to Boston but it’s the same time you’ll be down here for the truck show at the Texas motor speed way, lol maybe next time driver! Stay safe!
First off, where's my girlfriend rose. And the helping out people on the side of the road. One good thing about the automatic trucks. I have room between the seats, even with the hydraulic controls, to have a nice size 12 volt refrigerator. I'll hand detail cops a nice cold bottle of water.
Mike- I hit a fawn Friday with the truck. Pushed in the bottom of the grill and the top got dented. Not huge damage but it still screwed up the rest of the day. Stay safe. JM
My brother in-law who drove a concrete truck called it “save a hurt”. If you hurt yourself on the weekend you would wait until Monday and report it at work.
Mike, I wish my main job want me to work some Saturdays. we work Monday-Friday. I usually get about 64-68hrs in 5 days. I love truckin so much I got a PT Saturday job hauling milk from farm to dairy. With my FT and PT job I’m usually 75-80hrs (legally - milk is exempt from HOS). I’m 32 so it’s still fun working that much and the money is crazy.
Hey man been trucking for 2 years now im 21 got my cdl at 18 doing local work for pepsi , a concrete place finally gave me a job driving end dump in a brand new western star east frameless trailer any tips and advice i start monday all we'll be hauling is crushed rock and sand
Dump level, take your time and get trained first, watch for overhead wires and trees, keep an eye how they load the truck and know what your hauling, learn the names for all the materials.
@@TheBostonTrucker hey man just hitting you back up i did it and it felt great and learned the material we haul (concrete sand ) and Mansand but it was cool and i love it !!! 🙏🏽
The tall pipes on top of your mufflers oil can the top of the muffler. That’s a lot of stress over the years. The newer Cummins don’t sound good straight piped, not like the 400 Big cam or the N14. Yeah aluminum wheels are not like they used to be. You guys do carry a lot of weight on a tandem axle dump trailer in tight spots. Getting in and out of your city yard looks tight getting around the building.
Thank you for the good laugh at the Mr. George part and the diesel smoke part 🤣🤣
😂😉
Good video Mike. Issac seems like a nice guy. Good mechanic.
When truckers and mechanics get along it makes everything much nicer.
Those damn 4-wheelers will get you EVERY time. Mike needs to do an interview with Freddie. 👍
I'm trying to line that up.
Thanks, Mike👍👍👍 wish your wife a happy Mother’s Day for me🌺🌺🌺
Thank you, I will.
Truck is looking real good 😌 it’s terrible to get it dirty 😂 have a great day 😊
Tell me about it 😋

Very cool memories thanks for sharing them.
Our safety people used to say more accidents happen on a Friday than any other day of the week.
Makes sense
These are great way to spend A Sunday morning thanks mike!
Glad you like them!
Man dude you’re hard on equipment! 😂
Yeah tell me about it 🥴

Old School is the Creonte Mack LJX dump truck. Bizarre time at the landscape yard!!! Have a better week next week!
Yes it is there father used to run it.
I wonder how long the dirt in the back of the mixed pile has been there? It has to be a decade at least.
I watch your videos every week. How's the new truck coming?
It's coming along, should be done soon.
Nice variety today Mike. Stay safe.
Thanks, will do!

Good stuff man work as much as you can while you still love it!
Glad that you got the accident out of the way in your old truck, not the new one!
I was very lucky she hit me where she did.
Loom. Spelled Loam. But the rest of the world calls it "" Top Soil"".
Getting your tires all dirty Mikey 😮
Lol 😂😆
All the Cameras and sensors on the new cars and they still manage to hit you.. Ahh I cut my thumb bad last week. Crappy week
You would have thought right
Mike Brother another outstanding video the smaller muffler intact for circumference make the the Truck breathe better
Thank you so much!
@@TheBostonTrucker TY Mike
I hated those plastic air lines i much prefer the rubber ones
Next one will be rubber
Framingham my Home town
I'm here now too
I always thought rain meant free truck wash ,Mike now i have to wash my truck lol
Did you now 🤐😤😂
Who will drive your gorgeous unit when the new KW is ready?
How do you back into a huge shiny trailer?????
Ha! Asian lady. Definitely more than an ounce of truth with every stereotype.
She was very excited.
Are you going to make sure your new truck will have a good sound to it?
Honestly, no. 🥴 Hopefully the looks of it will make up for it for now.
I know you be glad to get have a good day brad
You should been a doctor with that chicken scratch! Or that just the old log book writing? Good job mike!
Always keep them guessing 😉

Hopefully they don’t get a truck accident lawyer. Ambulance chaser are terrible trying to get settlement.
Wouldn't shock me a bit 🥴
Mike, first thing you should have done was check her cellphone probably yacking on it when she was backing up 😒
Oh I'm sure
Just watched video driver side stack looked loose
Yes it was! 😉
Have you ever tried using a foam Cannon when washing your truck if not you should try one out I like mine
Yes I have one and have used them in washing videos but I only use them in the winter when the water bucket is cold.
Cleaning a truck on the side of the road. Lol that will be the day I do that.
Go for it!
Mike how many yards fit in the small dump?
I'm not sure.
You had 9 yards of stone and looked almost full?
Does it depend on weight of product or size of box?

Ya shit don't Stink right?
Right! 👍💯
I bet they hace you lol
You should ask them and get back to me.
I mean you coworkers hate you
Why you say that?
I could see the mechanic maybe hating him lol but not the other drivers.
😂😂😂
Tell me more about it.
That company with those two old western stars that had 5 at one time . Are those two trucks used they look a little rough around the edges
