Great video and one of it's kind. I just got the 4x4 v3 and would love it if you could make a tutorial on it. Having lots of trouble with it so I would greatly appreciate a video on it.
Glag you liked it, my friend. I'll try to get a walkthrough solve of that puzzle posted early in the new year. It's actually tough because I don't have an actual method for it yet lol. I can solve it, but I may not be able to explain it. So the walkthrough vid might be a little clumsy lol.
Hi! Thank you for the great video, surely having all of them together for a comparison helped me figure out what I’m most interested in buying. Do you know if you can mod any of them into having any number of 1 faces and 0 faces? I have the megaminx v1 and to do it I’d have to buy a second copy and sand some pieces down
Thanks! As far as I know, modding any of them to change to 1 faces, specifically the ones with all 0 faces (3x3's, 5x5's, and megaminx's) would all involve getting a second, identical puzzle, and then modding the inner pieces of the centers like you mentioned. I think the lack of built in adjustability is my only real complaint with the series.
Well. I am stuck. Do you have a video on the 4x4 v2. I have been stuck for a week. I hope you can make one. That would be great the 5x5v2 was awesome. Thanks.
I'll do my best to get that tutorial up in the next week or so. Which three colors does your 4x4 v2 use for the bandaged "center corners"? since the bandaged colors seem to be random I'm thinking about using some small black stickers to identify my bandaged pieces. Do you think that would be helpful during the tutorial? Just to help make those pieces easier to identify?
@@puzzlemax13 it’s the white green and red. I am stuck trying to get the edge centers in the correct position. I solved the outer like a 4x4 then the center like a crazy 2x2. Now just try to do the little center edges. Thanks.
Since you seem to be having an issue, I'm working on a tutorial vid for that puzzle right now. It should be available in the next two hours or so. I'll be sure to comment a link to you when it's done. Hopefully it'll be helpful for you.
The megamix v1 and v2 solve exactly the same. Even though the v2 looks far more difficult and complex due to the extra pieces inside of the circle, those extra parts don't require any added effort to solve. They solve themselves as you solve the edges of the puzzle. So those corners inside of the circle on the v2 are strictly for appearance, they change nothing about the solve experience that you would have on the v1.
So I’ve bought a few of these and you are absolutely right about them. They are fabulous. I’ve solved the 4x4 v2 a few times and the exploration/discovery process was very rewarding. I solve centres then create edges solve the outer cube and finally place all the circle pieces. BUT (and it’s a really big BUT) I cannot find any way to solve the 4x4 parities (single flipped edge and 2 edges to swap) without breaking the centres. Do you have any hints for a way to approach this?
Because parity stems from the number of slice moves that are made, try solving the outsides first. Place them correctly according to the bandaged center and fix edge parity if it shows up. Then, ignore the solved stuff and try solving the centers with an even number of turns, always possible. You still may come across a PLL parity at the very end (for some reason, I'm not quite sure why yet lol). If so, focus on the outer edges and then re-solve the inner edges, usually an easy process. (btw I am PuzzleMax, this is just my second RUclips account and I usually forget to change it before replying lol. I promise, it's me though)
@@Puzzlemad for the V2 and V3 4x4s keeping track of the number of slice turns while rebuilding the centers can be super easy to lose track of. I almost always try to go with a "do and undo" type of thing, just to make sure that I'm staying even. Apparently ManQube on Facebook uses a completely different approach to these puzzles. His might be more new algorithm based, but maybe message him if my technique isn't working out for you.
Interesting! It did sort out the single edge flip but I still have the PLL parity requiring two corners to swap (or two edges). Can’t work out how to fix that yet.
@@Puzzlemad in that situation, I usually ignore the inner edges and just focus on the outer edges. As long as you've done an even number of slice turns during the center rebuild, those outer edges should still fall into place and leave the corners solvable. After you've gotten those outer edges and corners of the last layer solved you'll have 4 sections of inside edges that need to be repaired. Luckily those can always be fixed with an even number of slice turns. As long as you understand the fixes of the inside edges, I think that it can be done in about two dozen moves or so. (my count on that might be off, so don't quote me on that lol). I still haven't quite figured out why that extra parity shows up, but luckily I can always fix it. Plus parities can be a little bit fun, gives you the full solve experience lol.
well-done, super in-depth video. much appreciated!
Good stuff, useful info. Guess I'll be picking up some of the 4x4 and 5x5s on my next order :)
Wow! Ful collection :):):)Super
Very nice puzzle series !!!

Thanks for that! I’ve made my shopping list for the next time I buy.

Do you have any videos on the Sun cube?
Nothing yet. I have a couple of short videos up about the DaYan Bagua puzzle, a very similar cube. But nothing yet about the Sun Cube Puzzle.
I just started the 5x5 v2. But having a hard time. Do you have a tutorial on it. Thanks
