- This is an alternative method for determining IC and EC anything in Graphpad prism 6. You can also apply this same concept to extrapolate any value from any graph in Graphpad.
If you don't already know how to plot IC50 curves in Graphpad prism, Watch this video: • How to calculate IC50
Love the way you explain things, thanks to your tutorials I am more advanced in Graphpad now, Thank you, God Bless
Thank you. i am glad it helped
Thank you for the tutorials. It's been helpful. Sir, before watching this video, I used Graphpad online calculator to calculate IC99 and IC90, but now after watching your video, I tried running it again, and it's giving me different answers. So I'm confused, don't know where the problem lies. Using the PC software, some IC99 values are totally missing, whereas I got their values from online calculator.
I'll be grateful for your response.
Ran 6 samples in duplicates.
Thank you and remain blessed.
I am glad you liked it
This is super helpful. Thank you very much, Daniel!
You are welcome. I am glad it helped😊.
This was super helpful, thank you! Would you be keen on a tutorial for determining the CC50?
I am glad the video helped. Though the nomenclature is different, IC50 and CC50 are virtually the same in concept. They are both conc. at which a 50% of a measurable inhibitory effect occurs. Cytotoxicity can be thought of as inhibition of growth or killing of cells due to toxicity. In Graphpad prism, the same method can be used to find CC50 as you would to find IC50.
Hi Daniel, so this does not work on Graph PAd Prism 8? when I want to change the equation it would not allow me to do so by saying "You cannot use X or Y within a parameter transform"
You have to use 10^X[..] not 10^X(..)
Thanks for the question. I will take a look at it
This visdeo is amazing and of huge help!!! thank you!!.... I only have one doubt.... if I want to find EC70 is the same? it would be 10^X[30] ?
Hello. Thanks for the question. EC70 would rather be 10^X[70]. However if you wanted to find IC70, it would be 10^X[100-70] which would give you 10^X[30]. That is the difference between when your data has to do with stimulation against when it is inhibition. Sorry i didn't explain this in the video.
wonderful, it helped me
I am glad it helped :)
Thank you for your video. The only thing I could not get is, it is an inhibitor which was used, but your Y values are go from 0 to 100. But prism says your Y values of the curve will go from 100 to 0. I made like that. Is it wrong? Would it change the results? Thanks in advance for your help.
Thanks for your question and sorry for the late response. Which part of the video are you referring to? Is it the part about EC anything? Or IC anything?
@@Dr.DanielAddoGyan Thank you for your response. For IC anything part, around 7th minute of the video, I see that your Y values go from 0 to 100. but Prism says it should go from 100 to 0. It made me confused.
Where did you find the information that says it must go from 100 to 0? Can you share a url if it is from a website?
Hello, when I put 10^X(10) calculating IC 90 in user defined, after clicking OK, it appears that X and Y cannot be used in transformation, now what is the solution for it. Plz guide
Thanks for your interest in my videos. It would be helpful if you could send me snapshots or a prism file so I can better understand the issue and suggest a solution. you can email me at danextreme4jc@gmail.com. cheers
Thank you so much Dr Gyan. But I was facing the mentioned issues in Graphpad Prism version 6.0 but in version 9.0 the issue resolved by itself.
Your video was quite useful for me in determining the IC anything.
@@mariahakim5749 I am glad I could be of help to you.
