  • Welcome back everybody! In today's video, I'm diving back into some Snapper rigs. I've received requests from anglers down South, especially on the Gold Coast, asking about my favorite Snapper rigs for different conditions. So, I've prepared four rigs tailored for various water types. Whether you're fishing in hard currents or deeper waters, these rigs have got you covered. We'll start with a classic Floatline rig with a twist - incorporating a lumo tube for added attraction and protection against teeth. Then, there's another Floatline rig featuring circle hooks gaining popularity lately. For those venturing out wider, a simple rig with a gang hook and an 8 ball sinker is effective. And let's not forget fishing in hard currents, where a sliding rig with a long leader comes in handy, allowing your bait to flow naturally. I also share insights on hook choice, leader strength, and sinker size, emphasizing the importance of adaptability in fishing. Whether you're a seasoned angler or just starting out, these rigs can up your Snapper game. Good luck out there, and may the Snapper season bring you bountiful catches! Make sure to check the links below for detailed instructions on rig setup and baiting. Thanks for tuning in, and tight lines!

You are totally under rated on YT. I been taught fishing by my dad who started in the 60's in PPB and this is exactly how we rig everything. Lumo is a newer addition thanks to you, I also add the kohga skirt to bling it up a little above the lumo bead. Its just basic good fishing advice simple and easy get the job done.
The your sliding sinker rig is usally called a labled a western port rig in the south, there are plastic slider clips which i dislike. I do love using a snap swivel for the sinker, this allows me to change bomb sinkers with the clip instantly. If i need a dropper length for the sinker a double overhand knot at both ends takes 30 seconds to make and little more to loop and clip on.
A skiner sliding rig is more of a bean sinker above the swivel attached directly to the mainline. We use that for more bottom feeder species like whiting where you want to be hard on the bottom.
Paternoster rigs go all right as well but i find are better if your on a drift for exploring. You can weave a single line into the dropper loop and finishing with a uni if you want that natural single strand presentation.

@ShannonsFishing i highly recommend adding a kohga skirt to the snelled hooks. So far i have used pink, orange, and green. I am still yet to try red but i am sure it will be good too. All have gotten plenty of bites, the best fish on a pink followed by orange. My single hook western port rigs have flashabou bound to them. I really think it helps attract fish and helps them to find your bait.
Black magic sell a lot of these kohga style singles and reedy's rigs flashabou hooks. There not hard to make your self and i can get my own hooks for ~$0.20 each saving a lot of money.
Love your content i share with others to help them as well because its exactly how i rig as well.

@ShannonsFishing I now target pearlies & tuskies in the warmer months and will be switching back to Jews and snaps in the cooler months. The weather has been pretty crap lately.

Nice one mate. Think of us poor buggers down south with the traffic instead of the open waters of the reef.

Hey Shannon, thanks for the great videos. Caught some solid snapper and by catch tuskies through your videos. do you ever find that using your patenoster rigs that the meter of leader that goes to the hook gets wrapped around the main line? Thanks!

Its great to here some of the vids are helping, that rig does tangle if you drop it to the bottom fast, use a slow steady drop and the rig won't tangle. Good luck with your fishing adventures mate.
