I love that he never belts. Doesn't even use falsetto. Everything is in a light mix except for that "Shines on my Face" G4 in the bridge. I mean I, personally, prefer Ben Platt's beltier sound, but I love this different take on the song!!
I love what he did at the end. Made the climax "cuz the sun shines bright." And changed up "it could be alright." Probably the most difficult part of this song.

@@kurtluis4610 I don't think so. I just went to listen to Ben Platt's version and he only sang it once. But you could sing it twice, I think its more of personal preference
Thank you for posting. I take all artists for what they are. I love Ben Platt but also love Aaron Tveit. A song can have many facets and through an artist’s singing, it can be done in his or her special way.

I auditioned for "Dear Evan Hansen" a few months ago, and just over 2 years ago I was in "Grease The Musical" as Danny, at the same time Aaron Tveit played Danny Zuko in Fox Live's version. This brings memories of then and now, melds them together in a beautiful harmony. There's no surprise in why Aaron sang this song, it's one of the best musicals on stage right now.
He has a really nice voice I just don't think it's right for evens character it doesn't have that anxiety ridden voice more like a calm narrator 😂 its still nice though

The pianist mistakenly thought that the next verse started at 1:50. Aaron was so calm before they corrected the error!!!!!!!!!
