Your videos are fantastic. I hope a geologist sees them and bumps you up a notch. The climb that wasn't a waterfall used to be one....before that it was encased in ice. You're seeing holy sights that came to light around 10,000 years ago give or take a millennia.
Going in 15 days. I hope to do this one but not sure. Definitely Blue Bird lake I did half of it last year but wasn't in great shape and was suffering from a skin flare up. Hope to finish it this year.
Following this video we went sky pond today & will be going Chasm lake tomorrow. It’s predicted to rain at 12 there, we have to leave pretty early. I hope everything goes smooth. Thanks for helping us and many more like us. You are going great job guys! :)
On your Chasm Lake hike, there was one section of the video that looked like you were walking on a cliff edge about 12 inches wide! Is it really that narrow, or was that just the camera perspective?? I would think it might be the latter, as if it was truly that narrow, you would have made some mention of it. Going in a week. Thanks for a reply.
That section of the trail is narrow but the point when I film my feet was a very short washout section that was very narrow but only about 3 steps long 😀
I’ll be watching closely to see if you make all your destinations! Wondering if we will be able to do this again this year. Isn’t out west the very best!!! Hey if you get a chance Moab is amazing - the STARS!! ( and it’s meteor time now!!) and The Arches Nat parm- wow. Great recommendation- The Broadmoor ( Co Springs) and Highland Haven , Evergreen- if doing any “non “ roughing it stays!! Have fun!!
Thanks so much for watching!! We are heading to Wyoming next and then Idaho so focusing more on the Northwest on this trip but we absolutely LOVE Utah! Really appreciate the recs!
Waypoint of View - ok can you tell I want to travel!! So if you stay in Wyoming- ( Jackson) The Alpine House, Jackson Hole- great breakfast beautiful connected cabins ( w laundry!) and also B and B lodge what a great place- military discounts , too if that applies - I think they r open. Also a great museum outside of JH, across from Elk refuge I think. Wildlife art etc really special place. Idaho great- but hardly any coffee joints!! Mormons ,hot drinks a big no no! Great place. Craters of the moon- so cool. Have done some day hikes in the Tetons- lots of gigantic Moose- bears. Also a trail ride. Wow I’ve been all over , like you two, and the West always blows me over! I always watch Ken Burns” The West” to get ready for that trip!! I’m planning our next one now!
I have no scrambling experience and I’m planning on taking on this hike next week. Can you give me advice on scrambling down Timberline Falls? (I’m more worried about the climb down) Is there proper ground for foot placement or is it easy to slip off the edges? Did you require assistance on the way down due to steepness? Lol so many questions. Thanks in advance.
Glad you reached out! Happy to answer any questions! As far as Timberline Falls goes... I would say in total it was about 100 feet of scrambling up the side of the waterfall BUT only 10-12 feet or so were what I would consider to be on the sketchy side. There was really only one part in particular where I was uncomfortable and my husband had to help me with where to put my feet coming down. In this part in particular, I would not say there was proper ground per se (more like rock climbing vs rock scrambling) but there are plenty of foot and hand hold spots. Also it's not a cliff side drop off situation.. I am a pretty big chicken when it comes to heights and it was still doable for me! ☺️ There were also plenty of people on the trail that I am sure would be willing to help with where to put your hands and feet if you need it. Let me know if you have any other questions and enjoy your trip!
I will be using my poles for both these hikes up and down, did you see anyone using them around Timberline Falls? Is that even doable like on the way down or just use your hands? Thanks!🏔🌲🐿
@@sharonburgit2977 I typically use poles but they really are not helpful/ usable for the Timberline Falls section. You definitely need to be using both hands for the scramble (up and down). The hike is awesome though, totally worth it!
Enjoyed your video! We are planning a trip to Colorado at the end of September. We had planned to do Sky Pond but now are considering adding Chasm Lake as well if we aren’t too exhausted by that day 😄 I would love to know what kind of pants you are wearing to hike in?
Thanks so much for watching! You guys are going to have a great trip, I am sure! Both hikes really are amazing! Day 1 I was wearing Prana pants.. they are from a couple of years ago but looks like they still have them / something similar. www.prana.com/p/halle-straight/W41199923.html?dwvar_W41199923_color=Smoky%20Blue&pos=7 I actually think Day 2 were Prana as well but I am not finding those on the website. :(...
There was a fair amount of rock scrambling with both hikes so I guess it would depend on the dog but you might need to check with the National park service first because I don't think many allow dogs unfortunately. Definitely recommend both hikes though!! Thanks for watching!
No hiking with dogs in the National Parks, unless an exception is specifically stated (some of the very short hikes do allow dogs). In the National Forests you can get away with dog hiking. (assuming you have a well behaved dog). I live in Colorado (dog heaven), and my kids hike with their dogs a lot, but they know which ones work and which ones don’t. It’s a dog-friendly state, so people are usually ok with it, just make sure you have your dog trained to come when you tell it to, is not an a insane animal-chaser, and take a leash for tight spots.
You answered the exact question I had! Thank you!!!
So happy to hear this!!
Thanks, heading there next week 🎉
Hope you have a great trip!!
Awesome video! I went to RMNP last week and was only able to see Bear, Nymph, and Dream Lakes, but I'd love to hike to these lakes next time! 😄💗
Thanks so much for watching, glad you enjoyed our video! ☺️
Thanks guys helped me a lot your video keep producing 😊
Yayyy, I am so happy to hear that! Thanks so much for watching!

On a technicality, bear lake and alberta falls are the most popular hikes.
I noticed the bee! 🐝
😍🐝😍
Do you recommend going on those hiking with dogs?

Do you guys sweat or na?
👍👍
Thanks so much for watching!
Hey there!! How’s the trip going? Any covid tests needed out west? I miss COLORADO and Wyoming!!!
It is going awesome! We just made it to Wyoming! Colorado was amazing. No COVID tests have been needed at this point at least.
See any goats up there?! They r so cool
We did see some near Colorado Springs but they were pretty far away. Very cool though!
"...afternoon storms..."////
They want you to wear a mask outdoors while you pass someone on a trail lmao
What's so funny dippy?
