Nice review! I have the first edition of the phazer with an axis art 999 foil (indeed put in the back of the rail) and I love that setup already very very much. It is nice to hear that they are able to make it even better 👏. Btw what you are saying about the ak footstraps is also so true, not only the size but the strange pins which stick out of the plastic connectors is so stupid 😞
Hey Kristian, thanks for the review. I'm not sure i understand the changes in inserts and box position, you are saying they moved both fwd? On my 5'3 v3 i am nearly all the way fwd in the box (uni progression 170) and all the way back on the front strap + all the way fwd on the back strap (and i would prefer the back strap even more fwd)..With base plate shim you mean thick part in the front (nose up) or back (nose down)? i am using 1deg, thick part front/nose up..am comtemplating a 5'0V2 or V3. thanks!
Speed wise before taking off I'd say there is a slight difference. The release feels a bit better and it doesn't stick at all. Same for the reentry that feels slightly less sticky.
Thanks for this video...I'm thinking of getting a new board to step down from my fanatic 95 ( I'm about 91kg)...and was considering the new fanatic 85 style but actually this new Phazer 78 is wider and longer and I guess could also be considered. I use axis HPS foils (I'm about to buy also a ART 1099 or 999...not sure which) so keen to hear that you think they would work ok with the Phazer foil box location ie it is not too far forward?
Hi Northty. For axis I think you be good with either the normal black fuse, or the advance on the version 3. A bit of length helps when you size down on the art series. The 999 and smaller like a bit of speed before getting on the foil. Length helps.. Cheers Kristian
Hi kristian, I’m very keen on this board but wonder if it’s too big a step down from my current fanatic sky wing 95l. I can gybe, tack and play in the waves and I’m 78kgs and 185cm tall. My concern is knee starting in the surf or rough water, how hard is it to get up? My fanatic is super easy but I think I need a smaller board to progress my wave riding. Cheers
Hi Mark, I won't deny it won't be a challenge. But it's quite a reasonable step down. Not like your going for a super sinker. However, the 78 liter might also be a great next step. That's the size you will keep 'forever' for the light wind to difficult waves to get on to option. And with 78kg in time you could go smaller. Cheers Kristian
Thanks for another great run through on the Phazer!
Thanks, you guys keep up the good work!

Haha yeah you are right. I really hurt my knees on those things! Even when cut off the plastics are a bit too much.

super informative video! would you say that the V02 goes faster than the V03 version?
