💙💙💙 FAQ 💙💙💙 All the cords I cut were about 136 inches long (11 feet) or (3.75 yards) but I really encourage you to figure out your own lengths based on your desired curtain measurements. The formula I use is I take the measurement of what I want the final project length to be. Then double the “working cords” length You want the overall working cords to be twice as long as your desired length. When I say “working cords” that means the length of each cords after you tie the larks head (because it’s doubled over) So I wanted my curtain to be 34” long 68” is where I want the cords to hang from the larks head knot. So then my cut would be 136” to accommodate folding it over. Also I used 3.35 single strand cotton cord from RopeShop.ca (I’m not affiliated at this point in time just love their rope)
This is amazing! While watching this video I was thinking about how many hours went into making this. Such creativity. Keep up the awesome work. Look forward to watching more videos from you. 😊
I really like this. I have already figured out how. I would just like a little help with the lengths on the rope. I understand there will be sizing differences. I would just like an idea of how long your ropes were. I am new to the figuring it out and am getting tired of the waste. If you could just give me an idea so my figures may be a little less wasteful. Thankyou
Late to the party and have just found this video. I would like to create these for my bedroom windows. I'd like to stop knotting at the bottom of the diamonds, skipping the mason jars. I am not certain how long that is from top knot to the diamond bottom to do my math on cord. I will probably add a couple inch "shag" under the diamonds.
I'm a beginner, but I know some of these knots, I think I can figure it out .I would like to put lights in the jars or maybe lower the jars a bit...put lil plants in them ...OoOo!😊
It looks like you only used one style of knot, just with different configurations....is that correct? LOVE THIS and would like to make it for my bedroom windows. I've never done macrame EEEK!
I've been wanting to start some macrame, and I'm about to make some pods. However, is there a way to make a continuation pod hanger? Say, if I wanted it to hang vertically for cuttings? I don't even know where to begin, but I have a bunch of those Oui yogurt jars I'd love to put up for propagation, vertically. I can't do drapes cuz my place has those awful vertical blinds. :/
💙 hmmm 🤔 you can maybe get a larger ring and hang more than one pod on it at different lengths...or....you can hang it on a clip and then clip them on the top of the pod like a chain
Wow amazing work! Just loved it ❤ May I please know the kind of cotton rope used(its name) and the number of rope strings you have used for your window :) i.e the intial ones and the ones you added Thanks 🙃
💙 Thank you! I used 3mm single strand cotton cord. I did this curtain quite awhile ago and it now resides in my Mom’s kitchen window so unfortunately I’m unable to give you proper details. I do plan on doing another curtain soon so keep an eye out for that 😊
I’m sure after 2 years you’ve got no interest in this but just in the case that you do still want to know all of those things in your questions, I did notice the very first person in the comments when I tapped to open them was from her and she gave all the exact details that answer your questions.
+Kye Alexander yes you can spot clean and very gently hand wash only. Then lay flat to dry. It’s 100% cotton so be sure to use cold water and no dryer otherwise it will shrink and fray
What length of rope did you start with? I've recently been getting into macrame and I feel confident enough to attempt one of these. Beautiful job BTW.

@@SimplyInspiredbySheena It totally makes sense. I've mostly been making macrame hangers from Paracord as I've just been learning and had it on hand. It's crazy how quickly the knots eat up the slack though. Thanks for the reply!
Robbi Tracy you’re very welcome 💕 Yes the knots completely use up all the length. I feel so guilty cutting the cords so long sometimes because of how expensive my rope is 😬 ....but I try my best to use up the waste by making feathers out of them or use it as fringe on another project.

Very pretty piece. But the only thing difficult, or advanced, about it is the lack of clear instructions, and you didn't show the entire finished piece. I like it enough to make a similar one for my kitchen.
Brenda Goorhouse 💙 Thank you! ...and I agree, it is a simple pattern. I considered it advanced because this isn’t a one size fits all curtain. There needs to be a considerable amount of measurements to custom it a window. I never would expect a beginner to do that with ease. I apologize for the unclear instructions. I’m still fairly new to RUclips. While filming I only intended this to be a quick time lapsed video but due to the simple pattern I figured I could voice over with a bit of instructions.
