Well good luck on the “new direction” of your channel (can you call something you’ve been doing for the last 5 years a new direction?) man. I, like most I assume, originally subscribed because of the Regional Videos and have stuck around hoping for more of them but this Update Video seems a little bit like trying to pay back rent on your place from 3 moves ago ya know? I think after 5 years most of us understood that the Regional Videos aren’t coming back. It’s a shame but your Health comes before anything we want man. Have fun creating what you want to create!!!
I hope Buddymon isn't where you stop. Not just sequels and spinoffs but even other I. P.s, creating what your heart NEEDS you to make, whether it's a mon game or a platformer or a rhythm game or a point and click or just whatever your cardiovascular system says.
I’ve been watching this game built from the foundation. Ain’t no way I’m leaving it now. And don’t doubt yourself on returning to your fan regions. You have amazing ideas! Rooting for ya! 🎉 PS: I wonder if you could Pokémon concepts? For example, what would an evil team of every type look like?
So I don't typically comment on videos often, but I wanted to drop in and say as one of the more inactive subs on this channel (I subbed a few years ago, I remember being active on the livestreams back during the very early times of Buddymon but I fell out of it, would love to tune into the next livestream if I can tho
One of the five people who watched your character study videos here. It's really nice to hear you say that you think Buddymon is better than your regional videos - that reassures me that you truly will have a much better time making and covering your own game than you ever did making your regional videos (which you also enjoyed, I know). Nobody can blame you for the extreme burnout you've been feeling. You put in SO much work to make those amazing videos and inspire so many creators to make their own stuff, which is hard enough, but losing all of that Team Buddy Returns work to a tech issue? I feel that would ruin anybody's motivation to finish that project - it's totally understandable. I am not the most active commenter, but I have been keeping up with Buddymon as much as I can (even made some art a while back, I should do that again) and I am here for it now. I came for the Pokemon videos, and I am staying for Mr. Buddy and his passion project: Buddymon. I am sure many other subscribers feel the same way. Thank you for the update. At this stage, it pretty clear for a while that you were moving away from regional videos and focusing on Buddymon but I appreciate you making this update video to explicitly state how things are and how things are going. I am excited to see where the project goes and you can bet I'll be one of the people there when the game is officially shown off. If you would like any suggestions for less stressful content to make as you slowly bring the channel back up, I can try giving a few: -Character studies -Pokemon Information Videos (kind of like more accurate Pokedex entries in video form - could even be Shorts) -Some more videos like those Aether audio logs you made a while back would be really cool - some mini audio dramas, perhaps? Maybe even for Buddymon's current world and story I hope you can push through and start feeling better about finishing and posting videos again soon, Mr. Buddy. It's a tough thing, but you've got this. Wherever the channel goes from here, I'll be here for it - even if I do not comment often. Good luck, Mr.Buddy. Buddymon will be great.
I dont think I was ever subscribed to your channel while you were doing your region videos, or if I was it was flaky at best but- as someone who has also been working on 3-4 long term projects over the last 5 years (I pick one up, I set one down, I recover for a few months) I admire the work and time you've put into all of your projects. From your regional videos and now to creating not just your own region, or story, or creatures, but now an entire game?? It blows my mind how far you've come and I am not exaggerating when I say your work and work ethic have inspired me in both my 'mon region and other works. I look forward to seeing your work on Buddymon, from concept to creation. And as a fellow creator- I hope you have fun at least most of the way 😊
Your "What if x place was a Pokémon region" series inspired me and so many others to make our own regions. The April Fools event you did in your Discord server in 2019 created a whole sub-community that, despite changing over the years, is still around. Even if your videos aren't performing as well, even if you change your content, you still have fans. Whatever you do, make sure it's something you enjoy, and if you're feeling burned out again, stop. Your mental health is more important than anything, so above all else, have fun. Best of luck with everything you do in the future.
Well, I, for one, subscribed for Buddymon (I only found out about your regional videos after the fact, and quite honestly I’ve only watched the Scandinavia one). I’m excited for Buddymon and can’t wait for it to come out. And obviously take care of your mental health; I’ve suffered the consequences of not doing so, and it isn’t pretty.
Maybe analysis the ways game design philosophy has changed good and bad from game to game, same with character design artistically and story wise. Idk I see a lot of people talk about Pokémon becoming but not a lot about understanding what’s wrong with it or the positive changes that have came and got over shadowed
I do miss the old regional videos, they reallu inspired me in a lot of ways, but I'm also really looking forward to buddymon, I think it looks awesome so far.
Thank you for this update. It’s always good to know that you’re still trucking along, and I did enjoy the Buddymon starter quick looks. Hope that you are well and I will look forward to seeing the next videos in the pipeline.
Buddy, I just want to thank you about the amazing projects and videos you manage to make in that time. Know that I will support you and continue watching you in the buddymon project. Take your time, and don’t worry about the team buddy part 4, the fanverse is doing quite the job on expanding the lore.
Sure the region videos were fantastic, but they definitely don’t seem like they were really worth it in the end, given what they would do to your health. But you can tell you’re putting that same drive and love for your work into buddymon, and I’m excited to see where it goes!
I felt concerned when Buddy had those videos that ran for over an hour; when the creator is basically making something the length of a movie on their own, you start to feel worried about them. Personally, I thought it would have been better if Buddy had broken each of the videos into 20 to 40-minute segments that were spread out and give him something of a breather between videos.
I figured that you'd put Pokémon content on hold to focus on Buddymon, but I had no idea that you'd lost a ton of important files and gone through burnout. Sorry to hear about all that.
13:12 Far as suggestions go, if you wanna keep -mon focused, I've always felt Pokèmon could use some more Pokèballs. Or, could do more trivias I suppose...? Or, hey, maybe you've other I. P.s/genres to discuss. Metroidvanias? Metroid in particular maybe? Anything to say about hidden object games? Heck, maybe Animal Crossing! Heck, maybe you'll end up branching even further. Who says games are all you have opinions and ideas about?
I remember the character studies. I kinda wanted to do my own take on it actually. Putting that aside, I REALLY hope Buddymon does well. You were and are one of the biggest inspirations i have for my own desire to go into content creation as well as my slow going work on a pokemon fan-game. I honestly believe you deserve all the success you can find in this field.
I'm at least glad you are okay, I can understand why you didn't come back. Artist's/Writer's Block is the One thing that can ruin someone's creativity, a Stone Wall Hard to Break. I hope you do well on Buddymon, and further Projects. It's sad that you lost the Files for the Egypt Region and Team Buddy Returns. But, Hey, I can wait for whatever you make. Creation takes Precision and Time to make it right. I hope you will do well especially for 2024, see ya Buddy!
I've been avoiding the Buddymon content because I've got faith in your project and want to play the final game blind. But maybe you could take snippets of the livestreams to make some videos showing development of the game. It might also be a way to introduce the relaxed energy you want the channel to have moving forward. I enjoyed the regional videos but it was always the story elements that really hooked me. I love your passion for storytelling, it doesn't have to be Pokémon. Maybe to promote Buddymon when it's finished you could make some short stories with characters from the game?
Hey, long time subscriber, I stumbled across your channel because of your what if region videos like a lot of others, they were the first kind of what if region vids that I came across, and I was blown away by the staggering ammount of detail and content in them. I really hope that Buddymon takes off, cause while I have only occassionally dipped in to check up on the channel, that your still going for this original work is inspiring after all this time. As for ideas for shorter videos, maybe a look at some of the original pokemon that you've made in the regions, or looking at what new pokemon that have been brought out. Hope things go well.
Genuinely, ive been all in on buddymon since the beginning, ive always loved everything you create and i know buddymon is not gonna be any different, do what ever you feel man
RUclipsrs like you creating their own monster catching series inspired me to create design for an aztec inspired series. I want to see more buddymon, I want to it succeed.
I definitely understand your conundrums, especially with the hard drives getting you down and burnout. I watched your earlier Buddyverse videos, which got me interested in your channel. But I also am very interested in your endeavor in making a Buddymon game! Both have been very creative, and I do sincerely wish you luck on how your game turns out! I definitely agree that the "Buddyverse" videos can wait until at least after your game is made, and when you feel recharged to go back to complete them. If you wanted to go back to it sooner, but are worried of the workload, maybe just make a simple scripted form to post elsewhere? Otherwise, I personally can wait while you work on your game that is just as if not more creative effort on your part :)
It would be nice to see something in the same vein as the regional videos that are less intensive, but the most important part is that you enjoy doing it
ngl I subscribed for Buddymon and I've been hyped for it since I found out about it. I've been waiting for 3 years, I can wait some more. Take as much time as you need bro.
i think character studies could be fun, especially with all the new character insight from masters. You could also talk the pokemon adventures manga because very few people talk about it and you like the manga
You starting work on Buddymon has inspired me to wanna pivot and learn about Game Dev and actually make those dream game ideas I’ve always had a thing one day. I’ll follow and support your stuff til the end, no matter what it is!
I first joined your channel cause of the regional videos, but I've stayed cause I want to see the game you're making. I look forward to what you come up with and seeing you revive this channel. Keep at it and you'll get to the finish line eventually.
Looking forward to buddymon! I first found your channel through the regional videos, but I've been peeking in to see how you turn your creativity into this playable game
i hope you're able to rest up and feel better dude. I love your videos and I'm sorry you had so much go on. You deserve to take care of yourself and I just hope you can do what you love and feel good doing whatever you choose to do!
First of all, was trying to pay attention, watching you sit on the screen with the Jigglypuff... and just to name it Hayley xD haha REAL first of all, years ago I followed due to the Regional videos, but more specifically, the world building around those regional variants, and it even dawned upon me back then, "Damn, if this dude did so much work for these regional videos, he can put this in his own universe! He's giving me 2-3 hours worth of content I enjoy watching/istening to and I don't even pay an admission fee of a theater seat, what a steal! xP" Seeing you transition to Buddymon from the sidelines is actually impressive. I know many are subscribed to your Channel due to those Regional videos, not going to dodge that, but the amount of time and effort to Buddymon is the correct choice for the channel. Second, I feel like the dedication that went into those regional videos should be allocated to Buddymon, more so the small locales and points of interests within those worlds. I'm pretty sure you thought of that idea already, but to just home in on it, in-depth details and lore of those places, not an hour or two long, not because it isn't fun, but the video may be 1 hour, the work to edit it to 1 hour is longer than that, and for that, as much as it's good content, time is needed else where. Third, maybe I'm not searching hard enough or there might no be much of it out there, but imo, there is a uniqueness to your channel that I feel has potential. In essence, it's a world building channel (of course to promote Buddymon) but overall ideas of world building and sharing that to the audience. I'm not saying you were the pioneer of regional videos of the Pokemon world, but that is credence is proof that there's an audience and what better way to extend and evolve that by shaping Buddymon with it. Overall, it's going to be a risk redirecting the channel, but I feel like it's a good direction. It might not get the most traction and all, but for Buddymon, I'm with it 100%! Happy Holidays, Mr. Buddy, take it easy (or whenever you can) and stay safe! 👍
Mr. Buddy, I’ll still love your older videos, their fun to watch and hey I’m still supporting you as a subscriber maybe someday you could make a tips for Pokemon region creating video, but hey you don’t have to if you don’t want to. You’re an amazing RUclipsr, one I enjoy watching and interacting in your livestreams I’ll still watch the regional videos and even if I can’t donate to Buddymon, you have some support here from viewership!
Thankyou for giving us an update video on what has happening. I found your channel with your region video and thought it was fun seeing your fan made pokemon, region and the story you made for them. When I heard that you were making your own monster catching game I was excited and felt inspired to try and work on my own, I have tried to tune and see the progress of buddymon with some of your streams and looking at things on twitter. I think it's great that you are trying to make a game for people to enjoy with your own monsters and I support you focusing on trying to make it the best game it can be. As for the making content for this channel that wouldn't be as editing heavy as the regional videos, I had an idea. You could do something like a "What if team" for trainers of the pokemon world. Like what would Cynthia's team be if she was the champion of Kanto rather than Sinnoh.
Even though I'm no longer in the discord and I'm not too active on the channel, you're doing great work Mr Buddy and I'll always be here. Cheers and have a good rest of your day mate.
honestly pokemon as a franchise kinda fell off within the past few years, so im really excited by the amount of love and effort i see you putting into buddymon!
i honestly miss the buddyverse! it’s one of the reasons i subbed to the channel. as for suggestions, why not update the buddyverse timeline? even if you’re not returning into it anytime soon. it would be interesting to see how galar fits into everything with the england region and all. still have to catch up with team buddy returns too. i know the direction of channel is changing, but i’m kinda hanging on and waiting until the buddyverse is back. hoping everything works with buddymon!
Your regional videos were definitely fun to watch, though I understand that you are burnt out of them and want to focus on Buddymon. Have you ever considered asking anyone to continue the region video stuff for you? Or the Team Buddy series?
Luv the buddymon updates but miss the regional vids. Look foreward to your game but hope u do return to regional vids even if its not as often. As for what u should do im not sure
I don’t really mind the new direction of your channel. Buddymon looks really promising and I rather have that than your older content to be honest. Not that I don’t like your older content.
I mainly stopped watching this channel because I don't want to spoil Buddymon for myself. I'm really excited for it. Couldn't you still do regional videos, but chop them up in much MUCH smaller bits? Try to find sustainable content. Something you can do without burning out.
Why can't you just make a channel about Buddymon? 😕 I mean, it'll help you stay away from Pokémon contents for a while, and be focused on the actual Buddymon game. Plus, you can still this channel running, but take a break from it for a while until you're ready for it again... 🤔
This is meant as well meaning critique. Don't let any strenger on the internet tell you what to do, but: while I absoluter adore the girls outfit in the thumbnail, the boys outfit is so increadibly bland in contrast. The composition is good, the brushwork excellent and the composition fire but this discrepancy bugs me, because it shows the bias in society that girls - have to/ or just do naturally - put more care into their outfit while the only things boys wear is a t-shirt and unfit pants. This is not meant to denigrate you. It's just sad so see such an amazing character concept and then your creativity shutting off the second it comes to a male character. Was I too harsh? Have a nice day 😊
Well good luck on the “new direction” of your channel (can you call something you’ve been doing for the last 5 years a new direction?) man.
PS: I wonder if you could Pokémon concepts? For example, what would an evil team of every type look like?

😆 You're speaking out for us lurkers, couldn't have said it better myself
@@Madcat1331 Late reply but I wholeheartedly agree.
You know you have the support of all of us in The Buddyverse man. Hope your upgrade from fanfiction to "fiction fiction" will be received well
You was a pioneer at your time. You set the bar and I think your videos aged very well. I happy to see what you will come up with in the future.
One of the five people who watched your character study videos here.

If you would like any suggestions for less stressful content to make as you slowly bring the channel back up, I can try giving a few:
-Character studies
-Pokemon Information Videos (kind of like more accurate Pokedex entries in video form - could even be Shorts)
-Some more videos like those Aether audio logs you made a while back would be really cool - some mini audio dramas, perhaps? Maybe even for Buddymon's current world and story
I hope you can push through and start feeling better about finishing and posting videos again soon, Mr.

I totally understand your burn out. I hope that everything goes well and life becomes less stressful. You can do this!
Even though I'm no longer in the discord and I'm not too active on the channel, you're doing great work Mr Buddy and I'll always be here. Cheers and have a good rest of your day mate.
Imagine making a region based off something besides a place.
honestly pokemon as a franchise kinda fell off within the past few years, so im really excited by the amount of love and effort i see you putting into buddymon!
I wish I had ideas as to what a short, regular video could be, but I don't.
Still rooting for you, though.
i honestly miss the buddyverse! it’s one of the reasons i subbed to the channel. as for suggestions, why not update the buddyverse timeline? even if you’re not returning into it anytime soon. it would be interesting to see how galar fits into everything with the england region and all.
still have to catch up with team buddy returns too.
i know the direction of channel is changing, but i’m kinda hanging on and waiting until the buddyverse is back.
hoping everything works with buddymon!
Have you seen those PirateSoftware shorts? They blew his channel up and I think something similar might be good for what you are trying to do.
Hey oh
I’d enjoy it if you did a regional video on the buddymon region in the Frist game, that would be kinda cool.
I came for the regional videos. But I stayed to buy a copy of Buddymon does it have a release date on steam or ichio?
Buddymon Lore videos?
To be honest I don't remember why I subscribed in the first place.
Why can't you just make a channel about Buddymon? 😕 I mean, it'll help you stay away from Pokémon contents for a while, and be focused on the actual Buddymon game. Plus, you can still this channel running, but take a break from it for a while until you're ready for it again... 🤔
lol first
This is meant as well meaning critique. Don't let any strenger on the internet tell you what to do, but:
while I absoluter adore the girls outfit in the thumbnail, the boys outfit is so increadibly bland in contrast.
