    Is the elbow out bad for this exercise? Or bad generally?

      if you allow the elbow to swing naturally, it should point about 45 degree forward. just dont point it to the side.

      No way. Their elbows are beautifully forward when they swing

      @@badminton4kids looking again coach, I think the elbow are 45 degrees like you say, rather than directly forward. For sure it's not absolutely forward, as there is a gap between arm and head on contact.

      Elbow forward like next to your head? If that's what you mean then no. I don't do that. It feels very unnatural and from what I have seen Noone does that
