      You will be surprised how many advanced players have super tight grip.

    Wow. The way you teach and speak is so great. The closest word I have to describe it is comforting? A few other people we've learned badminton from speak in a very harsh way, but your voice and the intentional kindness in your approach makes learning more about badminton feel enjoyable and safe!
    Also DAMN THREW ONE OF YOUR DAUGHTERS OUT ON THE STREET SNITCHING ON HER BADMINTON GRIP LMAO. But 10/10 video, genuinely we will be watching more from you!!!!

      Awwwww, Thank you for the kind words. LOL about my daughter. I guess I was trying to let everyone know that it is a long journey to master badminton. My kids are no exception and I want everyone to realise that we all need train all the time in order to master these fundamental skills. Thank you once again for your kind comment.

    terrific tips for a loose grip. thanks. i generally have a very loose grip where I sometimes hold the grip only by the index thumb and middle finger and then squeeze at the last moment. have been playing for 7 to 8 years this way. has not created any trouble for me. Have tried to hold lightly with all my fingers . control , defense and deception have increased than before.

      It is amazing you have developed your own grip and it works for you! It took me a long time before I realised the power of a soft grip. For an old body like mine, it really helps to relax and slow the game down.

    At 06:36 you show the finger squeeze and chop movement, but what's not so clear is how you transition that to the punch. Earlier in the vid you show the full swing but too quick to properly see what is happening. Would you mind explaining the wrist/forearm movements that occur when finger squeezing in the chop and bringing the racket square to the punch?

      I will do a video, hopefully tomorrow and upload next week, about squaring up the racket and do the Punch action. This is why the V grip is so difficult and requires constant coaching before getting it right.

      Very old racket. The Yonex Duora 10. I normally play with Exbolt 65 strings, and to save money i normally play with 23lbs tension. This way, the string would last me 2-3 months even with all the smashes that I do :) I save the money for the kids
