- Takayuki Yajima is the scion of a century-old family-run kimono business and founder of Y & Sons, a modern atelier for men’s kimono. He hopes to encourage more men to wear the garment by giving it a modern spin. “What we want to change is the idea that kimono is not only for special occasions and ceremonial wear. I want to bring across the message that the kimono can be worn daily even in this modern era,” he said.
