    *I was able to use the stop to cut my pieces all the same **MyBest.Tools** Only let the blade come to a complete stop before lifting it back up otherwise it might 'catch' the work and inadvertently move the stop. Used a second clamp for holding.*

    I have at last built this bench and pleased with result. Your mitre saw is obviously a lot wider than mine as I had to recut the 2 tops as they were about 4 inchs from my saw. Perhaps that can be added to tutorial the same as the hight of finished level.

    watching this gave me an idea about using two pre-fab bookcases that I have lying around with a shelf in between for the mitre saw, that would save me a fair bit of cash.

    That's a nice set up. It's possible that in the near future I'll be setting up a shop for my hobby and something like that would make things a little easier for me.

    I have the same Ridgid sliding miter saw, it is extremely deep. Looks like you have to move your cart away from the wall for every use. Will you never use the full 70 degree miter cut since your base extension wings can't open?

    • @addicted2diy
      @addicted2diy  6 лет назад

      thecrus8r I actually do have it away from the wall now for normal use. I rarely cut beyond 45 degrees, but should the need arise, I can always move it off of the bench in order to do so.

    Hi Katie, just found this video, as I am going to make some sort of mobile miter station soon. Do you normally use that Kreg rip guide, as opposed to one long rip guide?

    • @addicted2diy
      @addicted2diy  6 лет назад

      David Letz I use the rip-cut on the longer cuts that are less than 24”, as this is as wide as the rip-cut will go. For wider cuts that are 4’ or less, I use the accu-cut to cut pieces down to a manageable size to use on my table saw.

    We never see a king size bed ! Would it be because the gas cylinders won't hold it. We so want to build a king size. We to have limited space and it would be perfect in our bedroom.

    I'm trying to figure out which plywood to get. I know you used birch veneer but all I can find is "plywood sheathing" , "BCX Sanded Plywood" etc. I'm kind of lost on what other kind of plywood I could use. Any tips or suggestions?

    • @addicted2diy
      @addicted2diy  6 лет назад +2

      Melania Krystle - you should be able to find veneer plywood at any of the big home improvement stores. The other option is a hardwood store, but oftentimes their veneer plywood is grade A, which means it’s double the price.

    • @MelaniaKrystle
      @MelaniaKrystle 6 лет назад

      @@addicted2diy thank you! When building a project like this what do you think is the cheapest plywood you could use but still have the strength to hold the weight of your tools?

    • @addicted2diy
      @addicted2diy  6 лет назад +2

      I would say the 3/4" sanded plywood would be a good bet. It's about $15 cheaper per sheet.

    Hi! What screws do you recommend for using with the drawer slides? I use some that are hard to work with as the head of the screws get caught in the grooves where they go in on the slides

    • @addicted2diy
      @addicted2diy  4 года назад

      Juan Gutierrez I just use the screws that are included with the drawer slides.
