He is the greatest rock and roller of my generation and I am 65. I grew up with him growling and singing and screaming out his songs from Woodstock till the day he died God bless him. I am so sorry he's gone now because he didn't have ANYTHING more to prove, he seems like the kindest most wonderful gentleman in the world and I just bet he was. If God's listening to me tonight please tell him to take special care Mister Joe Cocker who is loved and missed still.
You and me should have met years ago. I also followed Joe from his first album. I just turned 66. I saw him many times over the years and even got my wife hooked on him after we married. I miss him very much. I still have every original album by him and still listen quite frequently. It's a great joy to listen to him still. RIP Joe. Nice to meet up here Pluto Girl.
@@curtzeek8818 Hi Curt... Nice of you to write, seems like we are both really old Joe cocker fans. It is great that your wife is into him also. An old friend of mine told me that he went to his concert in Cleveland and Joe was so stoned and drunk that he turned off the stage and threw up on my friend. I told my buddy I hope you never took a shower after that LOL. I do believe Joe cocker got straight finally and cleaned up his act before he died, that's a good thing. Very nice talking to you take care.
He stopped with his band in 1976 in the tiny town of Milk River Alberta on the way to the US. 3 or 4 days , I think to finish all their drugs. They set up in my uncles wheat field and played a show. Freaked the old folks out good. Gave me a few free Tshirts . Us teens loved it. Never forget that.
@@DanFan2042 Completely true. The town has about 800 residents, surrounded by wheat fields mostly. Seeing the look on my old families faces when Joe was writhing around on his back on stage was priceless. The shirts were blue with Declaration of Independence type writing , some saying about the Declaration of Joe Cocker. 1976. I gave a couple away and wore mine till it was threadbare. I’m speculating about the reason they stopped but why else would that band of freaks hippies and gypsies stay in a one horse town so near the border for so long? No doubt they were indulging heavily in intoxicants. My uncle actually got paid for the use of his field, I never asked him what the form of tender was…😂 One morning they all just drove the buses out of town heading South toward the border crossing in Coutts, Alberta/ Sweetgrass, MT. 12 km. away.
Joe Cocker a legend to no END..a singer that has it all..fortune and fame..Terrific performance's at all of his concerts..sensational and humble ..never to be forgotten..an entertainer that has no End.
You need to check out the movie from which the song comes: "BRASS" about a colliery Brass Band in the north of England. The colliery is being shut down....(Margaret Thatcher era.) "...grim times up north, lad., tha knows." (Well worth watching if only for Tara Fitzgerald.......)Drool....drool...)
Leave it to Dutch TV to record this oh-so-sexy rendition of this uber-sexy classic by Joe Cocker. And the arrangement is perfect! Why am I not surprised?
Another wonderful, beautiful soul gone. I hope you're in heaven with the Good Lord. If I make it I hope to meet you and shake your hand. I grew up listening to your music. RIP Joe Cocker
I know what LOVE is! So do the rest of us because of Joe! Thanks for sharing this, Andranik. My house has sheet rock powder on the floor for the volume this was played! F'n gorgeous music. 🙂
I saw Joe Cocker live, twice, the first time he was pissed out of his brain and the second time sober it didn’t sound any different...it just sounded bloody great like all good music does!!
Him and Leon Russell at Woodstock we're so screwed up but what a show they put on!! I miss both of them awful! This is real music!! Not the 💩they call music since the 90's. It's just noise no meaning to the lyrics. Have a GREAT DAY
It's sad to me. I'm an ol rock n roller, 62 this year and we're losing all the greats. The CRAP that's being rolled out today is so mindless and there's just no heart or soul in it. The greatest era's in music are gone, passed on and they're not going to return. I'm so glad I've been a part of this era. I saw so many great concerts in my youth....man oh man. Great memories!

I absolutely disagree with you because the Beatles have created hundreds of songs, while the Joe Cocker has only created one song about sex but sex is the main thing for manking.
Oh, Joe, Joe, Joe, how we miss you...just to have been alive while he was. I was offered two free tickets to Woodstock by two fellow FSU students in July of 1969 -- and, what an idiot, I said, "In a field??? What about bathrooms? No thanks!"
