Imagine if Hoang gets into HC3, AND THE OPPONENT DOESN'T KNOW HE'S AGAINST HOANG
I do Imagine someone going "Hoang" in game 1 just to confuse his opponent and the chat.
But again, that would sadly mean Daut's out of HC3, which would also be sad in a way.

Daut isn't the best at the usual meta, but he's great at adapting to bad situations. At least, he was in his prime.

@@ravigadhwana11 Because they are meeting in Round 1 of the qualifier. I don't know what system the qualifier goes by - if it's single elimination, only the winner (possibly) goes to HC3.
@@Alche_mist Single elimination, 8 different groups. So 8 out of the 32 seeds goes through to HC3

I'm pretty sure he is ready. I've seen DauT play Hoang a couple times in DE, and he won all the games I saw. He knows how to handle this style, so Hoang will need something different if he wants to win Monday.

The other player's name is "a cuo", pronounced "ah tsuo", which just means "Ah, bad"
Famous Chinese pro's name is "jibatong", pronounced "ji ba tong", which just means "di*k-ache"
How this strategy is successful in this game really confuses me lol.
Its kinda like a fatal weakness of the standard strategy. Huge delay with militia to scatter the opponents eco & give delay that goes through the entirety of feudal. Then when your opponent wants to start recovering economically and prepare you slam into him with an all-in 1tc push. The fatal weakness of this strat is that he is very open at home and one well placed raid can cripple him entirely. His goal is to never relent in his attack and let his opponent play that hand.
Its like zerlings in the mineral line, even if you killed them you lose ALOt of time...losing a ling dont cost you anything looking income units lose's you a minute that compounds over the game. one man down over 30 min game is huge!!!
Best civ for this strat is actually Aztecs, and Daut knows this pretty well and is pretty good at this strat as well. I think he can Hoang the Hoang.
How does height advantage work with cliffs? It looks like one side is higher right at the cliff, but the same height if you go around.

Hoang knows how and when to leverage micro to serve his macro and his micro is stronk. I would like to see another Hoang v Viper match on this same map. They are pretty similar in style, but I feel like Viper is more messy with his eco. Not weak, just messy.
I think the only realistic way to stop that kind of pressure is to get a castle down potentially protecting food would gold and stone if possible but at least protect wood and stone from more Towers and castles and TCS and just get to imp first

What if 啊错 would have done everything he did during Dark/Feudal, but then on the way up to Castle put a bunch of villagers on stone and then instead of making any army just rush up a defensive castle on the front between the wood and gold? Obviously he didn't know Hoang would be pressuring there, but that's his main weak spot for any kind of push. Then, the defensive castle would stop Hoang from being able to apply any pressure and 啊错 could then drop some TCs and boom or start creating military behind it.
Seems like an early defensive castle is the best defense against Hoang, unless I'm missing something here.
I think Hoang is that newby player who found a simple strategy and stuck with it. Then he excelled at it and now people think he's genius. :)
The real question is :
Is hoang ready for daut castle?
I haven't seen Recording 1 through 42, should I watch or will I miss out on too much?
Hey man, you need to have more video cam of you. Pretend like this hidden cup is a big 24hour stream. I also want Hidden Cup 3 participants that have been eliminated to be available as co-casters. (i.e. DauT if he gets eliminated in the qualifier)

What civ would you go with for this approach against Hoang Gambit? Turks with their instant LightCav? Magyars with their scouts and free melee attack upgrades? Franks with early food bonuses and bulky cav?
@@Alche_mist I don't think civ matters too much, what matters is getting castle first and prioritising mass since that's what hoang does

Why doesn't Hoang play as aztecs? Military created faster for his drush, eagles instead of knights cost almost pure gold which he likes and the monks and siege are also made faster with extra monk hp. Also nice eco bonus.
