Honorary Irishman. Much missed.
Classic, love jack. RIP and huge respect to him and Bobby. Love from an Irishman whose lives they touched.
A gentleman will be missed
Always amuses me what a quick thinker Jack was, and a natural storyteller as well.
Very Charming man, wasn't he?
Yes he was indeed
I like your use of sarcasm.
I was 21 in 1990. What a time to be alive.
I remember supporting the Republic in 1990 even though I was a Scotland supporter. They had a great tournament.
Maith thú!
Gary Mackay of Scotland got Big Jack started through that goal in Bulgaria to get Ireland to Euro 88.
Great reception to a great person and gent.
I was born in 97, yet this man still has a mark on my life. I find that quite remarkable, the stories of those times my mam told me. The greatest English man to ever walk on our shores.
20 yrs older than you, we used to be allowed watch games during school time..at school...
Hey, I’ve been to your country twice ya know?
It was an amazing time to be a young fan
During Jacks era i was 18/19 i wish i could say the parties we had because of the big fella. Rest well Jack. ❤️☘️
I was a child, but so wished I older....😂❤❤❤
Jack you are a proper protestant legend!
The first five seconds of the Late Late Show opening track always blew my mind. Still does. The brass is.. well, the brass.. I so would love to hear a full complete track work the same energy of the start.
Here is a video, showing some of the opening titles of the original and best version of The Late Late Show = ruclips.net/video/poKRD5WCW6E/видео.html
Indeed. I feel the same about the old theme tune to the Sunday Game, it’s not the same since they remastered it.
Two legends that are sorely missed
Yep
I couldn't agree more ....
Gay and Jack we are heading in a month or so into 2223 locking back to the 90s they were very happy days , I wish I could go back in timeI live for the moments again thanks Gay and Jack rest in peace never forget👍
he was a great man .. such amazing charisma .. he gave ireland some wonderful memories .. RIP Sir
RIP BIG JACK
I had a conversation with the late Glenn Roader. What a lovely guy he was. Anyway, he was telling me about when he and Paul Gascoigne ,(a great mate of his and his Best Man), were both at Newcastle. Jack was then the manager. However, Jack was bored by training and far more interested in fishing than football at that time.
Jack would keep a close eye on the time and always turn up at the end of the training session. There he would be - post-fishing - in his Barber Jacket, corduroy trousers and slip-on shoes.
He would always suggest that they ended each training session, (take note ENGLAND!), with an elimination penalty shoot-out session in which he would take part.
He always won. Every single time.
Glenn said that there was nothing more demoralising than being beaten in a penalty shootout by a man wearing a Barber Jacket, corduroy trousers and slip-on shoes.
Just an unbelievable man.
I love jacks diplomacy when he says (on meeting the pope) I enjoyed it even though it meant…… well…. it meant a lot to everybody ha ha, when what he wanted to say was even though it meant falling asleep because I was bored 😅
I could listen to Jack Charlton all day, he certainly knew how to tell a story. He always has that gleamed in his eye.
4:40 Good save Jack, good save. Almost said '' even though it meant fck all to me''
Haha yes
Proud to say I'm from roughly a mile away from Ashington used to see Jack fishing on the Prom
I remember the very First Game when he was Manager
There was a Banner
It said GO HOME UNION JACK
Things changed after that......😀
Irelands greatest Englishman
Without Jack the Good Friday agreement may have not happened. He's stalwart English yet Irish accepted him & broke the walls of division South & North. But if you're Irish please give a view..
Jack was loved by the Irish except by the unionists. He got a lot of hatred when he managed Ireland against the north in Belfast. If you want to thank one man for the good Friday agreement thank John Hume.
Jack is from Yorkshire first... and then English.
There's a big difference.
@@stevendenny7260 Yorkshire?? He was born and raised in Ashington, he was Northumbrian through and through.
You probably right...!😂
Watching him now on RTE.Class.
I actually met this gent a good few years ago in balina in co Mayo!?! He’s an honorary Irishman!?! And I was actually given his sausage the gillys name was Raymond and he actually gave me his sausage!?! I actually still have it in the package that he gave it to me in!?!
Amazing man.Always helping people in distress.
The story about the irish fans going baa also happened after the Italy game in new Jersey
When we started going baa the state troopers were flummoxed as to what to do!
Always be Big Jack
Pride of the North
A Great Broadcaster & Teacher.
Love big Jack stories
An honorary Irish man thanks big jacko god bless
An Englishman liked by the Irish
No man with an English accent did more for Ireland since Michael Davitt
We could do with another Michael Davitt today and indeed another Jack Charlton!
class act
If you had to pick two Englishmen, viewed in Ireland as two complete opposites, they’d have to be Oliver Cromwell and Jack Charlton…
How far back do you want to go ?
Sense some jealousy here from Gay Byrne
Jack wouldve been a better president than Gay. And that is saying something
Really?
Ohh gay was not like he presented himself he ran rte and cursed a lot. Its pretty evident if you check it out
Geordies
Baa baa....bloody priceless
Brilliant wasn't he no doubt
Great ken Dodd joke about jack meeting the pope he says' will you pray for us father' the pope mishears and thinks he said play' oh I'm too old for all that now lads. He says.
He nearly as good a story teller as he was a football manager. Naturally very funny & had a real presence & charisma about him.
Remember this well , What great days they were . Whether you liked GB or JC they were great characters and The LLS had some great interviews and people down they years . Don’t watch it these days mind
One of the few English Irish men lol
What does that even mean ?
Geordies lad
Big Jack taught them..GAA is not real football
Hurling The Greatest Game On Earth. ☘🇮🇪
@@odonnchada9994 I wonder did Jack Charlton had been to Croke Park.

Even to this day byrne turns people's stomach the most sickening man ever on Denis o briens rte
After 40 years I made this video about one of the countries that I Love the Most… Ireland.
My daughter just visited the Green Emerald last week and that was my driver to make this video!!!
If I have to mention two events that marked my life while in Ireland …
Taking part in Saint Patrick’s Parade was one of them and secondly to be invited to the Late Late Show magically conducted by the best TV presenter I ever met! Gay Byrne!!!
With my most sincere and warm feelings for my friends in Ireland!
May this New Year bring Health and Happiness to All Irish people!!
