I'm growing older now and at 75 can't see so well. Deaf in one ear as well bur learnt to play the piano at 21 years. Ny parents got sn old Harmonium when I was about 7 years old. It didn't took me 5 minutes to play all the "halleluja" songs I knew to play witb the right hand but the pumping with the pedals were another story. I learnt to play by ear. The best of all is that my love for classical music - most of all piano and thus Chopin- is making me irritated to listen to other kinds of music. My husband bought me a Yamaha piano in 1973 and it is my heart's posession. I just adore listening to your playing the piano Harry Vólker with so much feeling. Thank you so much. Nice and poignant, dear Hendrina, to see your musical past passing by like this. A harmonium has different properties and invites other, often spiritual, music. The Yamaha is an excellent piano and can also be used to play the most difficult piano work. Yes, Chopin is also one of my favorite composers. Everywhere Chopin has been, I have been to experience him. To feel him. I am 79 years old and can still hear reasonably well. I am also deaf in one ear. My eyes water when reading the sheet music and that hinders my studying when playing from the sheet. That is why I have made improvisation increasingly important. A necessity. My mom used to play this song when I was a kid (4-10 years old). Everytime a listen to your performance it gives me a mix of intense emotions. Someday I will learn to play the piano and play this music to her. Greetings from Brazil
