To sew a placket, you will need a sewing machine, a fabric marker, a pair of scissors, and the following items: - Fabric for the placket - Pins - Iron - Thread Here are the steps to follow: 1. Cut out a strip of fabric for the placket. It should be at least 1 1/2 inches wide and long enough to cover the length of the opening. 2. Mark the center of the placket strip with a fabric marker. 3. Place the placket strip on the right side of the fabric, with the center marking on the center of the opening. 4. Pin the edges of the strip to the fabric, making sure to line up the edges. 5. Sew along the edge of the placket, starting at the bottom and sewing up to the center marking. 6. Cut a slit down the center of the fabric, stopping just below the stitch line. 7. Fold the placket strip to the wrong side of the fabric and press it flat with an iron. 8. Fold the strip to the right side of the fabric and press it again. 9. Pin the folded edges to the fabric and stitch around the edges of the placket to secure it in place. And there you have it, you have sewn a placket!
