Found this little series yesterday, absolute best model railway building series I've found on YT, I learned more about wiring and electric's in 5 minute's from you than from every other upload on building a model railway that I've sen.
simply the finest model railway of my era that I have ever seen, I can watch movements all day long. Well done & keep up all the work that you are doing.
Hi there, I've just watched all the videos from episode one to here and I'm amazed at the level of detail you get from such little things. Real eye opener for my new phase 2 layout. Looking forward to seeing episode 13 and appreciate you taking the time to make these videos. Many thanks. Shaun
Oh Richard, another masterpiece of modelling, your skills are a true inspiration. It's a real pleasure to watch an Artist at work. I for one deem it an honour to be a "Visistor" (lol) to your channel. Seriously, Richard, great work, many thanks for sharing. Kindest regards. John. Happy NewYear, filled with more enlightening videos.
+The Shade Tree Fix-it Man Good thing too - a big reason why he started this Building A Model Railway series is to let other people know how he does what he does.
You hope you gave some ideas. You HOPE you gave..... YOU HOPE YOU GAVE SOME IDEAS. Buddy, you delivered in spades! Truly a fantastic job. Famtastic is an understatement. Well done.
Your scenery videos are just brilliant. When I think it is finished, you just add more and make it look even better. The speeded up sections are the best way to show the detail. Always look forward to your videos.Barry. Devon.
I really love your layout. I grew up in Cambridge in the 80s and 90s and it evokes a lot of memories of the station and trips to "town" (London), via Network South East. Love the little details like the red clocks and benches. :)
I really like the new scene that you've put in there. Ties that end up really well! I must try that method with the road surface, your results look fantastic. Cheers, Joe.
Richard, I seem to be missing notifications, so I am way behind viewing. This is a great video. I enjoy the work you do. I'll catch up my viewing now. As for this video, it's a simple but very effective use of the odd shape location. Well done. Regards, Solomon
Your attention to detail is fantastic! Not only that, you're able to create a scenery that looks so natural. And watching the film, it looks so easy when you do it! Great! :-)
Hi Richard, Thank you for producing part 12. You are amazing!! A good lead role to follow. Even though your wagon cam shows us around, I would love to see the anormity of your loft, from one single 360 degree camera move? That would be great. Thank you for the great entertainment value. John Stubbington
schweet, great as always, I think at the end of your parking lot I would have added a couple of dumpsters since this is a clean up area for the passenger cars and access for the workers from the platform area to dispose of trash collected from cleaning the rail cars, just a thought, keep up the great work
I can give you a tip to get really realistic paving/ tarmac for that car park. Get two tester paint pots white and black from a place like dulux or wilcose. mix them till you get a nice tarmac grey colour. paint the mixed paint onto the area and once down apply talcom powder/baby powder to the top. Stupple it into the wet paint to create texture with a paint brush, very realistic
The office area looks terrific Richard and a great choice of cars parked outside - love that Capri, I used to have a Mk1 1600 GT - I used to love that car but had to sell it to get married! lol. ..........Graham
+Graham Foulston Thanks Graham. 1600 Mk1 Capris are certainly thin on the ground these days. We're currently restoring a 3000e Mk1 at work. Lovely car, but god is it rotten! Finding original ford panels for it has been a real challenge.
Oooh lovely. It's got to have a vinyl roof and Rostyle's then. ;-) I can imagine how hard it is to find the original panels. it will be worth it in the end though. .........`graham
Another great video Richard. I don't care how many "S" you have in your visitors your videos are always fun to watch. LOL. As someone has already said " your videos are both entertaining and informative". I'm still looking forwards to see how you tackle the area of the carriage sidings by the canal. If you don't manage to squeeze in another video before the Hols. I wish You and Yours all the very best and hope you have a cracking New Year. Here's to 2016. Dave
This is awesome. I find this great and I am over 30 :D. Always liked model trains and setups. Great work man. Btw, what's the tune you are suing for the first 3 minutes?
Hi Richard. Yet another fantastic update as always. Really envious of this layout, fantastic. Keep the updates coming thick & fast. All the very best for Christmas 2015 & look forward to see what Everard Junction brings in 2016. Best wishes & regards. Ian. p.s. Does anyone know where Terry has gone? Everard & Glebe Road are 2 of my favourite railway channels on youtube. Hope we see him back on here soon. Ian.
glad to see the old signal box back i know it's been their a while i see that in the hornby 2016 range their make a class 50 in NSE original livery £154 thought i would let you know because you have a big range of NSE stock
thanks for uploading this, I've been looking forward to it. I think that car park asphalt may need some work to make it look as realistic as the rest of your model ;)
Soz l'm being impolite for not introducing myself, l'm Kris from Poole. I'm currently building a 4track BR/NSE 3rd EMU orrienated layout DCC powered with lighting and a 5 track high level terminus above the hidden loops. I'm finding your tutorials very educational and easy to follow thanks.
Fantastic series Richard. Many thanks for uploading. Given me some great ideas. I just wanted to ask you (and others), is it just me, or are there moments when the camera has been out of focus while you've been filming?
Hi, Firstly, I love all your videos, they have helped me so much. Secondly, I see you have a rising retaining wall on your layout, is there one of your videos that shows how you made this as I have the same to do, many Thanks, Dave.
Tip from another modeler: Avoid using so much glue as you did in the beginning. Spray Adhesive works just as well (if not better) and will give you cleaner results. Good work.
Great video Richard. That whole section is looking suberb. I would be interested to know what paint/colour you used for the areas between he tracks in the refueling area. Cheers
+MansfieldCS Thanks. Between the tracks I used a mix of woodland scenics black and concrete. Added some black on the top whilst wet to give used look. Hope that helps.
Great video as always. Although I prefer the lack of music like in your other videos, the sound of you actually working was much more calming and enjoyable imo
Are you planning on getting an Intercity 225 or an APT-P/E? I think some more high speed trains would look good, but it depends on if you're keeping that old-diesel, NSE look or would be ok expanding to some other trains. IMO the Swallow 225 looks so good
I spy a Regional Railways DMU. RR is my favourite livery. Hard to get Mk II open coaches for though - literally every coach on eBay is either a Mk I or a brake coach right now.
Was that sand you put down? Or fine grain scatter? If so, what brand?, as I am looking for a sandy gravel for a little diorama I am doing. Looks just the right shade!! Dave
Will you be investing in Signals and Small signs for the Depot? It would be a great Inclusion to the Layout? Also Keep up the good work, your going good.
Where did you get the cars from? I am going to be starting making my own railway soon and I want to know where I can get the things that I want for when it comes to adding them to it.
I am totally new to this hobby (doing HO), though I'm reading all I can. Would you please tell me the very first five or six videos of yours that you would suggest I start watching first? You have awesome ones but I just don't know where to start. Thanks.
Hi I messaged you about the size of your helixs a while ago , just wondered if you have a track plan and rough sizes anywhere available ? I,ve had to take my layout apart from the spare room and very shortly going to be starting a new project in the garage and really like your layout would love something along the lines of yours cheers Andy
hi sorry i know its off topic but i have just got a new hornby class 66 i wont to put the detailing pack on but what would be best, train motor boogie at the front or back
great vid Richard got some good Ideas from it B T W whats the music called at the start ? you really put these vid together very well look forward to more many thanks SYD

You are doing a great job on the train yard. Looking good.Scott

+John Bennett Many thanks John. More videos on the way.
Nice work on the workman's building. That area looks great. Good going Richard. 👍
I always find your videos not just entertaining but instructive as well. Thanks Richard for sharing your passion with us.
His name is Richard!
+theTazman19 Whoops! I get him confused with another rail modeler sometimes and that happens to us old guys from time to time.
+The Shade Tree Fix-it Man

one to many 's' in visitors on the office big sign. nice work again, really coming to life, adding the office/car park has made the yard even better.
+Ralph Dadge I didn't notice the sign until the edit. Only takes a minute to change, will sort it soon. Cheers.
I really love your layout. I grew up in Cambridge in the 80s and 90s and it evokes a lot of memories of the station and trips to "town" (London), via Network South East. Love the little details like the red clocks and benches. :)
Another inspirational update well done and thanks for all the ideas. Merry Christmas.
very nice update ,, your layout amazes me ,, so well done ,, thanks for sharing
Great stuff really like the yellow fence I'm must try that, lots of great ideas as always!
I really like the new scene that you've put in there. Ties that end up really well! I must try that method with the road surface, your results look fantastic.
Cheers, Joe.
Love seeing your technique! Great video and layout. Looks fantastic.

brilliant work again, always look forward to seeing what your doing !
The saga continues...better than a soap!
I like how there's a patch of green trying to grow among that oily ground. Life will find a way...

I agree with you. 👍
Now I know what to do with all those old bits of fencing I have laying about. Great work.
Looking amazing as always

Wow... Freakin real !! Thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.... Lance
Great work, very inspired to do this one day when time allows. Just a quick note of the spelling on the Junction signage, Visitors.... not Visistors
Great work, look's fantastic
Cheers Glynn
great video everard junction keep up the good work
This is awesome. I find this great and I am over 30 :D. Always liked model trains and setups. Great work man. Btw, what's the tune you are suing for the first 3 minutes?
I love watching you work bud. Makes me miss my layout though :(
This is providing so much inspiration!
Very nice video ......
I wonder if adding a few porta cabins and lorry containers would add a little bit to the depot ? Maybe some wooden cable spools also.
Hi Richard. Yet another fantastic update as always. Really envious of this layout, fantastic. Keep the updates coming thick & fast.

Very enjoyable and informative. Thankyou.

I wouldn't leave that Marina parked there......A piano may fall on it :D
Are we going to see modified car trains?
@A Wyatt Woman I mean how hard can it be?
You are the best. The for the nice videos
Very good now that's more like it
Hi, Firstly, I love all your videos, they have helped me so much.
Good work.
Would it be possible for you to tell me what you used for the fuel point ground cover;
looks amazing
Excellent....... could you tell me what brownish gravel you use between tracks off depot. Also what grey paint did you use..
Thanks
You earn much more likes for this!
Hallo Everard . Ja alles sieht gut geordnet und Durchdacht aus , mit Depot und Parkplatz . Cultauto Ford Capri !
+EverardJunction thanks Richard. Another quick question - what ratio of Railmatch enamel paint do you use with thinner when weathering track?
Looks awesome but you've spelt visitors wrong on the sign 😉
Video is great and love the work, but was told I have to mention you put visistors, not visitors.
Great video as always. Although I prefer the lack of music like in your other videos, the sound of you actually working was much more calming and enjoyable imo
Cracking video and I love that music to go with it, especially that last piece. Who is it.
Are you planning on getting an Intercity 225 or an APT-P/E? I think some more high speed trains would look good, but it depends on if you're keeping that old-diesel, NSE look or would be ok expanding to some other trains. IMO the Swallow 225 looks so good

Absolutely love the layout Richard keep up the amazing work. I hate to point this out but how do the cars get in and out of the car park
Entrance is passed the office off scene. Parking the car can be difficult in the far spaces but i've parked in far worse places in real life.
Was that sand you put down? Or fine grain scatter? If so, what brand?, as I am looking for a sandy gravel for a little diorama I am doing. Looks just the right shade!! Dave
Great stuff as always. Always in awe of your skills. I hate myself for pointing this out but do you realise that the sign says "visistors"?
+Thom Cousens I didn't notice the sign until the edit. Only takes a minute to change, will sort it soon. Cheers.
+EverardJunction Probably more accurate with the mistake :)
What is the stuff you are making the road out of?
Will you be investing in Signals and Small signs for the Depot? It would be a great Inclusion to the Layout?
Also Keep up the good work, your going good.
very nice!
Where did you get the cars from? I am going to be starting making my own railway soon and I want to know where I can get the things that I want for when it comes to adding them to it.
Hey but really good informative videos. Thanks
Fantastic
I am totally new to this hobby (doing HO), though I'm reading all I can. Would you please tell me the very first five or six videos of yours that you would suggest I start watching first? You have awesome ones but I just don't know where to start. Thanks.
You should make a train depot/garage where the trains drive into to get repaired
What make are the grey and black paints used on the ballast/pathways? Are they acrylics or something else?
What glue are you using in The first scene, to glue The turf ?
Hey Richard what do you use for the walkways in between the rails in that yard ? they look real nice
+Matt Jenkins (vwgolfer187) He explained this a few videos back.
+ReddwarfIV
Which video was that?
Charlie Talks The one with the signal box.
Hi I messaged you about the size of your helixs a while ago , just wondered if you have a track plan and rough sizes anywhere available ? Where do you buy your buildings? Do you have a local shop or are there some good websites?
+Soupy Think he's built his own. They look better than the shop bought stuff
Nice video again )
