A lovely project to take on, and one which will leave the vast majority of us scratching our heads and thinking "is there no end to this guy's modelling talents?" !!!! Really looking forward to seeing progress on this :)
Of all the model RR videos I have watched, yours are by far the best. Interesting, informative, entertaining and, unlike many others, to the point. None of the blather and opinionated digressions so common to other RUclips modelers. Thanks and I look forward to future videos.
Excellent video Richard. Very interest project. That's going to be one hell of a long shed. Really looking forward to the upcoming instalments. Well done. Kind regards. John.
Blimy that's about the length of my entire layout! you can understand why builds take such a long time when one puts so much effort into modelling. Fab - u - lus!
I have been following your builds for a few years now and while you have created and built some fantastic this is by far the most impressive thing I have seen you do. Amazing technique I almost want you to build one with the beam work exposed as it looks so good.
Great work, i have been looking for idea's for scratch building a grandstand for my slot car layout. This method will make one that will last a lifetime. look forward to seeing the end result.
I've been looking forward to seeing this part of the project..fantastic job I love the amount of detail that has gone into the shed most people would have probably gone and bought some plastic kit thing .looking forward to seeing the next part
what a tremendous job you have done on the building to this point! you have much to be proud of! I agree that the use of a jig would have been a great time saver but you soldiered right through! I have been laid up after a spinal injury and many surgeries. it has been difficult to find the motivation to begin working on much of anything. You, along with several other RUclips contributors, inspire me to begin to find what is next. I just wanted to say thanks.
that's one big shed Richard, looking good so far excellent job on the frame will make the structure very strong, looks like the inside of my warehouse Andy
I wish I had your patience and knowledge. It seems everything you do comes out good. This project looks like it will turn out good also. Regards and keep up the good work
You did a fantastic job building the frame of the shed. Good soldering iron makes the job easier. I have a Walthers diesel house which is common and is expensive $135 delivered to the door. I really like it but many people have it. Like you said yours will be different.Scott
hi rich the shed will be great look forward to next instalment it's convinced me to use brass section for my rail over rail bridge mods that I have been putting off for months. kind regards ralph
As usual another masterpiece by you , only complaint I have is I have to wait to long for your next video on here .Keep up the bloody good work looking forward to your next installment
Hi there, been watching the channel for a while and remember this video. Reason being is I'm currently at the design stage of making a model based on Leith Central (Condensed to a 6ft by 2ft building footprint). The roof area coming out as 420mm by 9800mm at its base. My question is with my limited experience of brass and the weight it would come out at I'm aiming to build in the plastrut box and I beam. Any recommendation of the spacing of cross membering on something of this size of brass vs plastic. Great channel and enjoying the new layout build.
You were lucky with that "Dremel type gadget". I bought one of them and even with a tiny drill bit in it it just stopped as soon as it touched anything. That`s why I bought a Dremel-Dremel.
could you tell me a bit more about the metal beams you are soldering? where can be found? and do you have a web page to find for examples specific pictures or the construction plan? and of course congrats for your work and the time you took in showing all. Thanks
A nice cup of tea and some Digestive biscuits, all washed down with an Everard Junction video, what a perfect evening! The vid was so good, i've practically finished the bickies! Be careful when you put the asbestos cladding on, make sure you wear a mask. All joking aside, very good, sir, very good indeed.
Good work! Could you recommend where to get some brick arch back walling from please? You have some in your layout which would go well in mine also. Many Thanks Philip
brilliant project. i was interested in the brass i beam as i could not find any when i wanted some for a building under construction project i did just recently. had to used plastic in stead. nut keep the projects coming i look forward to them for inspiration.
that sir richard will look like the muts nuts on the new part of your layout. highly impressive. if the unique factor was something you were trying to achieve i would say you have well and truly succeeded. looks solid too. as always im thoroughly looking forward to your next installment. keep up the seemingly never ending pool of inspirational and highly entertaining work my friend. cheers.
It is impressive that you did it with such precision and did not use a jig. You also did not had an end stop to judge the cut off point and thus get all parts exactly the same length. For a structure long enough to show slight variations in length of members, you did well. Thank you for the demonstration. Rob
+Rob McCrain Thanks Rob. There was certainly a risk without using a jig. It's worked out well though. I've offered it up to the layout and it does fit.
Looks very good and you are very talented, question... why use brass? Are there not equivalent plastic beams that would have been less expensive and given the same results?
+Michael Katt I decided not to use plastic due to the size of the building. At that length a plastic structure would be difficult to handle and wont be very strong.
That's an amazing bit of building and the accuracy is impressive to keep a structure that large all in alignment. Had you considered putting in more elements in the roofing that were clear partly to allow natural light in to the coaches and partly to show off the brilliant structure you've created? Even if an all glass roof may not match the building type you're attempting, I wonder if either regular skylights would be in order?
Epic Richard, a real pleasure to watch. Regards Charlie
Beautiful work. After watching pretty much all of your videos I am getting ready to start my own model. Inspirational!
A lovely project to take on, and one which will leave the vast majority of us scratching our heads and thinking "is there no end to this guy's modelling talents?" !!!!
Really looking forward to seeing progress on this :)
+Caversham Central Thanks mate. Next vid shouldn't take too long to get ready. Still got a few bits to work out before I get back to the build.
Top-bloody-tastic! Makes my scratch building with plasticard look like kids stuff! Looking forward to the next installment. Thanks.
Of all the model RR videos I have watched, yours are by far the best. Interesting, informative, entertaining and, unlike many others, to the point. None of the blather and opinionated digressions so common to other RUclips modelers. Thanks and I look forward to future videos.
+Lou Brewer Thanks, more vids on the way.
What a job Richard absolutely fantastic, looking forward to the next one.
Excellent video Richard. Very interest project. That's going to be one hell of a long shed. Really looking forward to the upcoming instalments. Well done. Kind regards. John.
Tremendous work, I could sit and listen to you talk about modelling for hours!
Blimy that's about the length of my entire layout! you can understand why builds take such a long time when one puts so much effort into modelling. Fab - u - lus!

Fantastic build so far. looking forward top seeing the work as it goes. nice to see you like to make is as true as possible on a scale build.
Looking great , thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the next video showing progress.
Regards,
Robert
marvelous piece of engineering . virtually impossible to get it that accurate without a jig.
And your cannonization is when? You have the patience of a saint for sure! Brilliant bit of work, before it's complete it's looking incredible.
Awesome. If a job is worth doing it is worth doing well. You certainly have done that!
Artistry in brass Richard. Your return was worth the wait. Well done!
The shed is looking very impressive, well worth the effort!
just superb Richard, waiting eagerly for next part
Nicely done. Impressive in how to work out your materials list, like the full scale rail yards.
I cant believe this guy, I thought a scratch build video would be about a little work mans shed, not St Pancras station roof. "A Total legend"
+clapps611 Thanks
Jeez, I would have made a jig for roof trestles.
Great work, i have been looking for idea's for scratch building a grandstand for my slot car layout. This method will make one that will last a lifetime. look forward to seeing the end result.
STELLAR work! Just stellar! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE NEXT VIDEO!
Excellent uploads Richard, really do enjoy your informative videos and of course the great works you produce...cheers Kev.
I've been looking forward to seeing this part of the project..fantastic job I love the amount of detail that has gone into the shed most people would have probably gone and bought some plastic kit thing .looking forward to seeing the next part
This is going to be one hell of a shed. Could be up for an Oscar me feels. Great so far, looking forward to the next video.Barry. Devon.
I wish that I could scratch build like you. Your projects are always amazing and look brilliant! I can't wait to see the finished result.
Incredible craftsmanship
Very nicely done. Looking forward to part 2!
The perfect imperfection I would say. Nicely done.

Bloody hell, that's impressive!
+alloria Thanks
One of the best series of videos i have seen, you are informative and do not ramble on like a lot of others do, keep up the great work :)
That's great work. Can't wait to see the finished shed.
that's one big shed Richard, looking good so far excellent job on the frame will make the structure very strong, looks like the inside of my warehouse Andy
one hell of a project Richard, looking forward to the end result as always with what you do.
Lovely as always. Great job. Looking forward to the next video. Cheers.
well impressed with that, so looking forward to seeing it all done.
That is really impressive Richard. I wish I had your patience...Keep up the great work!
I wish I had your patience and knowledge. It seems everything you do comes out good. This project looks like it will turn out good also. Regards and keep up the good work
Excellent metal work, great quality video - as usual.
Beautiful....you can use all the off-cuts of brass as scrap metal in your wagons and all over the layout
Good idea!
Good idea!
I noticed all that scrap brass, too. Seems like such a waste. The leftover brass must be worth a few quid.
Hello Everard. You go with a clear line, and with the system to the cause, and have this patience!
Hey Richard, I've been looking forward to this video, great decision on the brass frame. Can't wait to see the next upload. Great work
Great video Richard, keep up the good work and I look forward to the next video

As usual another masterpiece by you , only complaint I have is I have to wait to long for your next video on here .Keep up the bloody good work looking forward to your next installment
Very impressive! At least it will be sturdy being built with all that brass!
Hi Rich, impressive !! probably as long as the shed at Euston !! well done, also good info regarding the sheeting costs consideration.
best regards
Brilliant. I love scratchbuilding and kit bashing to get something different. Have never used brass though - I watch with interest.
Awesome work! Looking forward to see it finished!
All I can say is, WOW! Well done!
Superb ! What more can I say cheers Kevin
its great to see scratch building ,, I have not tried it yet , but when I do I want to try and build my house ,, just to be different ,
Great work :) Looking forward to seeing this progress.
Wow that is fantastic, can't wait to see it completed !
Keep up the good work! Thinking of building a scratch built station myself. Might have to invest in a similar soldering iron!

Hi, that was great, looking forward to the next video!
Superb work as always, very impressive indeed! :)
That is one fantastic build
Glynn
Really enjoying your videos. Any idea on when we could expect episode 15?
Great video very inspirational your videos make me want to make it 1980s themed layout. Jordan
Hello there fantastic structure what sort of material cost will it be when it's finished. Cheers Jon
+Jonathan Knight I've spent about £100 on materials for the entire shed. Some items I already had so it's probably a tad over £100.
amazing work ! gives me lots of ideas
Love the build, can't wait for the next video!
Your channel has helped me so much with my own layout, will link to some pictures soon.
:-D

Good work! Could you recommend where to get some brick arch back walling from please? You have some in your layout which would go well in mine also. Many Thanks Philip
+diginPM I got mine from International Models but they are no longer trading. I've not yet found the walling I used at any other shop.
superb steelwork [even if it is actually brass] going to tum out as one impressive looking shed, your coaching stock will be very pleased.
Very impressive work
Fantastic build thanks for the video.
HC Treintje Herman Belgium.
Wonderful work as always.
I would hope the roof will have lots of glass to be able to see through from above?
+Stephanie Dearden I shall be fitting some skylights to the roof if things go to plan. Thanks
brilliant project. i was interested in the brass i beam as i could not find any when i wanted some for a building under construction project i did just recently. had to used plastic in stead.
nut keep the projects coming i look forward to them for inspiration.
+paul andrews You could try Technobots in Warwickshire, sir.
thank you i will
I am impressed very good work!
lovely, especially keeping it all straight - please post next step : )
that sir richard will look like the muts nuts on the new part of your layout. highly impressive. if the unique factor was something you were trying to achieve i would say you have well and truly succeeded. looks solid too. as always im thoroughly looking forward to your next installment. keep up the seemingly never ending pool of inspirational and highly entertaining work my friend. cheers.

it is the right decision to start again, success

How do you what size to make individual parts so that it is to scale
that looks super cool great job

+David Luckman I'm going to have a go at making skylights for the roof when I reach that stage.
That is a very fine pice off work.
Hey just an idea you could do a power line in the air going round the railway layout
Those squares, though. Those frigging squares!
