We put distilled water in one burette and acetone in another (modified burette) and let the students determine the diffusivity of water in air and acetone in air respectively. The reason why the acetone needs to be in a modified burette is that it creeps out through the joints. Thus we broke off the bottom of a burette and melted the bottom together.
