★ 4K Cab ride 🇨🇭St. Moritz - 🇮🇹Tirano, fresh snow, strong winds & snowdrifts [03.2020]

- Welcome to the second cab ride along the world famous, heritage listed Berninanahn (Bernina railway), this time in 4K 60 frames per second quality - and during winter. If you missed the first run along this track, it is worth checking out • ★ Cab ride 🇨🇭St. Morit... (recorded Autumn 2019).
A special thank you to Paolo for recording this trip. His channel: / dellacapaolo
The Bernina railway sets a few records, including being the highest railway alpine crossing in Europe (2253m), the highest adhesion railway of the continent, the open air railway with the greatest height difference (1824m) and furthermore one of the steepest adhesion railways (conventional railway without cogs) worldwide, with gradients of up to 7%.
The gradients are included in the upper right corner in the same format as they appear to the driver. The arrow indicates whether the gradient is up or down, the larger number is the promille value (1/10 of 1%) and the smaller number indicates the distance of the gradient in meters. You will also see station names with their altitude, tunnel and bridge names with their length and year of construction - as well as other interesting information along the way to improve your viewing experience.
A unique aspect of Switzerland's narrow gauge mountain railways is the mixing of passenger and freight wagons in a single train, with wagons often added or removed at intermediate stops with shunting locomotives. On the Bernina line, the cargo mostly consists of wood on stake cars and derivatives of oil in tank cars. Today we
take a wagon with us from Pontresina to Poschiavo with good for a Coop supermarket.
Thanks for watching and have a great day!

Why you wasting energy?
i hope everyone listening to this will have a good sleep and wake up with lots of positive energy Wish you lots of peace and happiness...
I hope to defend myself with this translator. I am 59 years old. My two sons are train drivers. I congratulate the entire group.
Thank you! Where do your sons drive?
The scenery & infrastructure is absolutely unreal! What a gorgeous country.
This driver has the best job in the world..
They are really struggling to find new drivers😂
A dangerous job!!

Trust me
U won't do it for more than 2 or 3 times
It can get very boring
One of the most beautiful things in these videos is No Music. So, you can listen to the tranquility, the pleasure of traveling! The noise of the engine, the changes of the railway lines, when the virgin snow breaks, everything and many other things make you feel that you are there! It's magic....Bravo!
Thank you!
I sit glued to these videos. Even if they are 2 hours long I want to finish the journey
I think that u are far 🎶to creapy
Yep...no music...
Wonderful.....
The fresh snow hides the track so well that it looks like the train is just gliding on snow instead of running along tracks. This is easily your best video to date.
It is so beautiful.
canada always be like that when daily snow storm happens
at least four month u cant see rail track in Toronto region due to too much snow
Lucky the wires and poles there to show where to steer….. 😂
Snow makes everything pretty. Whether it's landscape, trees, or a rusty train car sitting on a siding, if it's covered in snow, it's serene to look at.
Those tunnels and bridges built a century ago still last and used. The marvel of engineering.
The marvel of good engineering, good materials and good construction
That's possible if you hold nazi gold during WW2 and stay aside from war. Everyone dies around you but you just sitting in your chair and dring hot tea - Switzerland.

I once worked as a humble, lowest of the low, laughed at, dish washer in Chiesa Pirani, La Punt Chamuesch near St Moritz over the ski season in 1981 Brings back many happy memories. ! How can snow be so beautiful ?
"laughed at"? I hope they weren't actually being mean though...
Sehr Interessantes Video. Dank an Paolo. Mille grazie.
Un viaggio fiabesco, meraviglioso in inverno, in un mondo bianco come la neve, grazie mille! Saluti da Bucarest, Romania!
Grazie mille! Saluti dalla Svizzera!

This is absolutely phenomenal, I am addicted to this channel and especially to this movie!
It is my dream now - to board on Swiss trains for holidays 😊
Glad you like it!
Mama mia! Und das noch ohne "Winterreifen"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I was 3 I used to spend hours in poschiavo station watching trains arriving and leaving, I eventually got to be friends with one of the pilots and he let me in cab for a short trait
🔥♥️🔥
This is my favorite cab-view video EVER, and I’ve seen hundreds. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😎🤠
Many thanks!
slm hi
It so wonderful. Thank you!
the best vacation I ever took was buying a 1st class Euro Rail pass that was good for train travel all over Europe back in 1981. My wife and I would often have 1st class compartments to ourselves and we'd put our feet up, smoke French cigs and sip German beer while we watched the changing landscapes roll by. If it took our fancy we'd hop off the train in a pretty little village and stay for a day or so then grab another train heading off to where ever. We went from Amsterdam to Pompeii and then everywhere in Italy. We went to Munich for the beer fest, then on to Vienna. We went every we wanted to go except Greece which I now regret not seeing as I'll never make it back now. Still what memories.
Sounds perfect ! You're very lucky.

In 1999 I did this route for the first time in my life. Personally it has many meanings such as its beauty, tranquility, vegetation, its picturesque people, the beauty of the mountains, its Italian and Romanch language and its particular dialect such as Poschiavino, but the essential of this trip, very far from my country and my loved ones, it was something even more beautiful than all that, and at the same time very special, I was traveling to that region to marry a beautiful princess and that today we are still married and united as those greats and beautiful mountains and their eternal beauty. Thank you very much for reminding me of this beautiful region of Grison!
Maaa Guillermooo 👋👋👋👋gracias!!
Your Princess is now a queen and very precious. Be her safeguard forever.
All that gorgeous snow, it's breathtaking.
And I'm amazed at how the rails sometimes go on the road, with automobile traffic! And there's no guard rails in places! Sometimes, the train goes right in front of people's house's front doors! Imagine opening the door and a train goes by! Crazy!
Before opening the door, you hear the train or feel the vibrations, so every sane human beeing does not make suicide (=wait till the train passed). Not crazy.
In Scotland there's massive disruption if more than 6 leaves blow onto the line. You have a wonderful railway. Beautiful scenery,
Lol, 6 leaves.....hahaha
Or else if the track gets wet
The same goes for Sweden :-)
In Mumbai, a bucket of rain brings the city to a standstill for days!
Viverlo in piena estate è altrettanto fantastico...... Provare per credere. Ciao a tutti...

One of the most incredible things I've ever seen on RUclips are these live trains! You could take a vacation on one of these videos not only being the conductor but actually feel like you're in another country!
These vacations are magical and I hope to do some of those sometime. Between Italy, Switzerland and Germany there are thousands of little places to see.

I did this ride 12 years ago, but in summer... Snow change everything. I enjoy your videos a lot.
I sampled the line in winter over thirty years ago. This excellent video brought back some very happy memories of my travels around Europe, especially over the Alps. The 4K quality is stunning, so thank you very, very much for posting this superb video.
Thank you!

I grew up in the high country of the Rocky Mountains; there is nothing on earth as silent as deep snow. This is a rare treat, and y'all get some righteous amounts of snow up there!
This is true Winterwonderland. I even like the slow, calming sound of the windshield wiper.

I took this journey once and it was a real pleasure but the incredible amount of engineering and tunneling they had to do to make this route possible are imperceptible when you are on it. You have to know about it ahead of time to fully take it in during your journey. Like many people we did this as s day trip to Tirano where you have only a couple of hours to poke around and have lunch before your return trip. I recall the black leather seats and electric window shade buttons on the tables.
It was a shoulder season at the end of September and the first class section only was about 20% full if I recall correctly. Anyone considering a trip to Switzerland should consider the Eurailpass. The upgrade to first class was a bargain and well worth it. The regular class was very busy on most trains with tons of very young people back packing around which is fine. But they would sometimes sit on the floor and have their packs in the isles etc. which made it hard to get around. It was so cheap to upgrade I can't imagine anyone not doing it.
No passenger's are seen in the Railway stations.we Indians can't bear this cold, will be frozen. Beautiful photography and excellent driver.Take care ,good night 🌙
Switzerland is such a beautiful country. I'd love to visit the country, take that train ride and see the gorgeous countryside.
Likewise.....never been there but a friend brought me a rock from the Alps which I added to my world-wide rock garden.......from Ohio, across our country, to the Caribbean, to Greece, Ireland and to the Alps. Love the video.

if you see the natural beauty of nature you must visit pakistan . North pakistan like sawat, Naran , Kaghan, Kumrat, Neelum valley, malam jabba , Hunza, Nager, upper dir ,and so many places more then beautiful
Simply the best and a big thank you for not including music and audio commentary...viewing full screen felt as I was on the train.
the color is very nice, thank you🌏👍

I am watching it in multiple sessions. However the views and 4K videography is stunning in the first 15 minutes I have watched. I wish Canada had such a railway.
I love winter and the snow. What a stunning trip through a winter wonderland. The scenery is mesmerizing. Definitely on my bucket list.
Brings back memories of our trip to St. Moritz. We took this train round trip from St. Moritz for the day just for the sights. Beautiful!
The polished candy red trains are so gorgeous. I would be proud to be the conductor on a train like that. The cab ride was alot of fun. Thank you for the wonderful video.
Driving a train in Wonderland. I'm sure the driver loves every minute of this journey
I do love these videos by Paolo so very much I re-watch them from time to time.
Watching this on a sunday morning.
Had promised myself that I will visit this place.

Wow! What a beautiful ride! Hats off to all the conductors that drive these trains! There are some places I wasn't sure if they could get thru, but they sure know their routes ! This is also keeping me cool today since it's 97 degrees outside here in Arizona! Lol at 5:30! Thank you for the wonderful trip and beauty of Switzerland and Italy! God Bless you all, Cactus Jan
Thank you very much!
I must say, that was one heck of a journey through the blizzards. How the train driver managed to wade through the storm is nothing sort of a miracle. In such treacherous weather in our country the entire train operations would have shut down as it doesn't have the equipment to handle that kind of snow blizzards. Anyway, it was a lovely journey. Thanks for sharing.
