Thank you. Not enough content creators talk about obscene amount of resources and time needed to lvl up one character to max. I'm not f2p nor a whale. I buy every ultimate battlepass, because it's a good value and periodically some shards packs on HRE. I got Rogue trader unlocked. And still I'm starving for books, orbs and badges. Constantly. I can't imagine how ppl who are f2p feel.
Can’t say I agree. Leverage the resources you have to power up your roster to get yet more resources. Sitting on resources you could otherwise use in speculation that the meta is going to shift around a lynchpin of a new character simply to have a head start on said speculative new character is not, in my opinion, a good strategy to do well in Tacticus, even if you put a 100% valuation on GR viability (unless you’ve maxed out all mech team members for its different viable bosses +having a viable multi hit or neuro roster, then yea sure sit on them coins)
I am one of those people who are going wide, but that is because just with the nature of a gatcha game like this unless you luck out I am going to have a ton of low level toons. While this does help in guild raids being able to fill an entire roster I am not just going full on wide. I am first getting all the story characters/teams I have unlocked up to Silver 1 minimum so that I can start working on the Elite campaign to get more character tokens. While I am grinding that out i slowly have been filling out any of the others up to Iron 1 and stopping there. Yes I am spending some skill rank tokens that are not needed but my guild still has issues at rare raids. So I am not too worried yet. But I do thank you for the view of the nightmare that is slowly coming my way. I think the first toon I ever max will be the first one who gets enough tokens to be fully unlocked and then ill go from there. And as most of my characters are at 3 red stars now I am still a long way from this. So until then I will probably get everything up to silver then start golding an Imperial, Zenos, and Chaos team. Then up them to diamond and so forth to make events easier.
104 books gets you to d1 level 44. With regards hoarding books unless you also have 84/108 of each legendary material there’s not much point hoarding 200 books as you gonna be farming those materials for longer than it takes to get 200 books!
I went wide really wide because I didn't know any better and at the time there were no videos like this and been struggling for a while now because of it when you start it feels like you'll never run out of stuff
Going tall worked really well for me . At 1mil power i had 900k in 5 characters. Bellator was my main carry for almost a year. I got lucky and build admech from the start so i got quite a good guildraid team at a low power lv. Getting in a good guild helps a lot with legendary books. I would recommend everyone to go in Guilds with active discords and coordination. I am currently in the dreadnought tavern and good Communication is so helpful in improving yourself and the guild dmg.
I feel like when a player levels their first guild raid comp to diamond that’s when they realise the importance of time and resources in tacticus It does seem like a daunting task but it’s the natural progression of the game and the next step to improving your game I also don’t think either tall or wide is better since the natural progression of the game feels as though you should go wide then tall, ie finish campaigns -> build an arena team -> finish elites -> level a GR team. The more important thing would be WHEN to go tall. Ive seen a lot of players that have gone so wide that they have a tonne of golds and no diamonds, when 4-5 diamond characters would have been way more beneficial to them in GR, arena and LRE
Now that Survival mode is released I've been working on healers to get me as much gold and XP books as possible. Isabella and Rotbone are DII now. I didn't work on it for the Red goobo as I didn't realize it was a survival event.
To me this just sounds like "avoid playing 80% of the game on the off chance that a good character comes out, which will be useful in 2% of the game." Or what if a new OP character comes out that has synergy with other "non meta" characters? Now hoarding has put you behind by several characters instead of one Neuro was like this right? Suddenly people had to level Neuro, Yaz, ahriman, roswitha even..?
@kreevox1967 but you're one of 30 working towards those rewards, and a new character is only one of 5 on one raid team out of (potentially) 3 meta teams. Unless it's some crazy lynchpin character like neurothrope or Rho, you're only looking at marginal damage improvements over the old comp, and even then hoarding just means that you get those marginal improvements early. If you're literally draupnir that might make sense, but for average players..?
@kreevox1967 yeah, clearly Draupnir made this video for his guildmates 🙄 Again, hoarding just gives you faster access to the hypothetical better character that doesn't even exist yet, at the cost of upgrading known characters with known uses. Draupnir even admits he should have built mech, and didn't.
Hey, @Draupnir I noticed that you use 20% block item on Kharn. I though they are bad and i should always choose 30% items. Could you make a video on block items choice?
a have a spread roster upgraded (mostly for legendary events and guild wars) like now during this 2 weeks event character event and until next legendary event start a am focusing on farming tyranids legendary material and fixing 7 low rank characters a have to silver rank 1 (some a upgrade in future to Gold rank 1) then a go and focus on 2-4 characters used in Legendary event restrictions and raid characters if they fulfil restrictions in legendary events. but a played sins beta days sow have/had material a lot and some times a lack some. but with Survival events the Gold have ben easier spend for me but ned to spend les for upgraded 2 characters skills to lvl 50.
Recently I got a few gold 1 characters and thought to myself that it will take a tone of xp books to level characters beyond gold 1. So is it worth investing in Snappawrekka to get him to diamond star to unlock the rouge trader and start trading in the shards for the books ? Another candidate is Snotflogga but I don't want to grind the legendary orbs for it right now.
@@kreevox1967 I get it, but is this strat worth it ? Getting characters like Snotfloga Snappa and Aethana to diamond star to start farming xp books that are going to be used on other characters to lvl them up. Or is there another more optimal way to obtain xp books not including the guild war shop and survival events ?
I loved your fun energy in this video, and the jokes, you are enjoyable to listen to. And I agree! Hoarders unite! Thanks Draup!

you don’t need to level the characters to diamond, you only promote their stars with orbs and character shards
