I am so proud of you two ! I have worked 50 plus years in community service agencies and never seen the respect and caring you gave the gentlemen and his mother!
Thank you so much Sharon. Honestly we are just being ourselves. 😁😁 Everyone around here is like that tho. It probably comes from growing up in a small Canadian city. Perhaps if we were in Vancouver or Toronto or a much larger urban center we would have been brought up to be more... aggressive ? 😂😁 Thank you for the great comment, and for watching!! 😀👍
Oh my, you both have the patience & forbearance of saints ~ I'd have been shooing that woman away with a broom or something😏 Seriously though, great video, and some wonderful finds!
We use to have a camp stove we used to bake biscuits in it over the fire.I think that little white bowl was Fenton it is made in my home state West Virginia. Been to the factory many times
That is So funny about him digging out the basement! My husband and I on our first home we did that too! Back in 73 took almost a year. But we gained so much space, and after that we cemented the floor ourselves.🤗
Was going thru Bargin BARONS withdraw, omg Leos mother what a little whipper snapper, love her. REALLY missed your videos. Dont care what you guys put out there eating dinner, playing monopoly, 5 card stud, lol whatever keep it coming I will watch. RIP BART
OMG i wanted to fill my bag with money rent a truck and go along. I can just imagine what treasures are left to find. Can you imagine what went to landfill. Most of all thanks to you all for helping an elder with an issue or two. Not many of us can count on that.
I adore you and your Mom's antics. There is so much sorrow and sadness in this world, it is trully a Blessing to watch you two on your "adventures ". There is nothing so sweet and entertaining for me.than to watch you 2 zany ladies enjoying being with each other. There is a closeness that shines for everyone to see. You know Selena, I genuinely feel sorry for those people who find fault in the simplest things such as a giggle.or laughter between people who genuinely love just hanging out with each other. .
That was a really interesting video. Bet you could have spent many more hours there, so glad you are thinking about going back again. Make sure you post your next visit, too. I was amazed by how you were able to reassemble that barrister’s cabinet to something that was recognizable. Difficult doing a visit like that when relatives are with you, but Leo was very gracious and a good mediator between you guys and his mom. Got used to Rob’s longer hair and fuller beard from your most recent live broadcast, so it was interesting to see the shorter version of both in this 2019 video.
This was fun going thru the stuff with you guys. Great job on the bikes Karen!! Great making back the money you spend, then keeping what you like. Great system. Enjoy your day 😘😘
I've been looking forward to this video since you mentioned it on the live. So sorry to hear about your friend. He was far too young. I'm wondering if I heard a clue about your big surprise 😲. Something Leo said. Watching your videos makes things feel somewhat normal again. Thanks for all you do. ❤️
Hi guys! Sorry for the loss of your friend. I liked this video very much and if I may, I would like to make a suggestion. Maybe next time you can use the light of your cellphone to light up the dark places. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Send you a hug and love from Uruguay 🇺🇾. Stay safe.
Hi Kids, so this morning, such a nice man & his mother to deal with, sad for her with her husband gone, living alone, sentimental about many things! You two did great, able to see diamonds in the rough! Did you ever go back?, If so, another video, hmmmmm? Hope so. The wash tubs& stand brought back memories, some good, some not so good! Really was fun being with you, the whole time I was grabbing stuff behind you ha ha! Thanks bunches!
I am very sorry to hear about your friend. I prayed that God would comfort this family and friends during this time when he is being missed so much. Regarding the pick, I know that you must be happy with that barrister's bookcase even if it is missing its glass. Hopefully, it's not to difficult to replace. Looks like you found a bunch of fun items, but I know how awkward that it must have been to have company while you are looking around. I like to be able to open the drawers and cabinets. Take care.
Thanks so much Danelle. It's so sad and shocking to lose Bart. He leaves a big hole in our picking/antiquing community and he will be missed greatly. Yes the pick was great!!! The bookcase is awesome and we still don't have glass for it yet, but we use it anyway LOL. I don't think it should be too expensive to get glass... although it will be new and not wavy and bubbly and full of character!
Hey Rob and Karen. It's so good to see you in action again. That was a tremendous amount of work getting all those old rusty dusty items looking good. I really liked the windmill in their front yard. My neighbor had one in his garden area and it was beautiful. Yes.... I like any kind of treasure hunting videos....it's all fun to see old stuff being discovered and enjoyed or used again. I'm think'n when folks start having sales they are going to be great as no one has been able to get rid of their excess items for months! linda from Illinois
I got interested in campfire cooking after I met my current partner a few years ago and he camps and fished. Not yet done it but in my research saw making an oven for campfires is an old Boy Scout thing. They cover a cardboard box all in aluminum foil and put a rack in the middle with open bottom so they can do biscuits and deserts. Even cakes. Just like that metal one. Think a 50s thing. Never heard of it in todays Boy Scouts.
We bought this house in 1978 after renting it for 5 years. Was built in 1890's with gas lighting still ran in the ceiling. Not that my dad would let us touch it lol. Had knob and tube wiring. If I had my stereo on and plugged in my hair dryer I would blow the fuses lol. My dad wanted to buy else where but my mom liked the neighbors. Dad agreed but being a carpenter he was doing to it what HE wanted! First was dig out the basement that only had a path to the floor furnace. Us kids dug until the path was big enough for a grown man to stand. He cribbed the house (2 story plus it was up 4 feet on concrete blocks to start. Everytime my mom would hear a creak we abandoned the house lol. So we now have a basement with an outside entrance, wiring was next. The list kept growing. Only fight was when he tried to toss her clawfoot tub! I have now inherited the house and I have redone the downstairs except the kitchen it is next after I move my stuff back from AZ. The tub is still staying! Basement doesnt look that bad but she kept everything we kids had. Toys in boxes, certain school papers etc. Is fun looking thru it.
AWESOME!!! It would be really fun looking thru the old stuff! We still have a bout a third knob & tube wiring in the house.... inspector says it's good as long as we don't touch or mess with it too much.... we haven't had any problems so far.
Awesome pick. I could see making several trips back and forth. It must be gut wrenching to leave so much behind. Leo and his mom were very generous on the pricing (well Leo was). There were some nice furniture pieces in that home too..!!!
Yes Leo is SUCH a nice guy!!!! We really like Leo!! His mother is a firecracker!! HAHAHA!!! She's great. We hope to go back again soon,... Yes the furniture inside the house is FANTASTIC!!! Would love to get more access to the upstairs again if we go back.
Sorry for the loss of your friend.❤️❤️.. Wow what a video. Absolutely amazing so so much wonderful stuff. Like child in a toy shop for u Karen. Was so happy to see how long this video went on for. Felt so spoilt. Both mother and son so lovely.. The amount of stuff u brought wow. Hope u can help them sell the car. Love u guys. ❤️❤️
I'm so very sorry for the loss of your friend sending broken heart healing prayers.Thank you so much for this awesome video Y'all ^5 much needed and appreciated
Just had a idea for videos. A few videos you did were on recycling bottles and cans. We don't have that kind of recycling here in the US. Well aluminum yes but you get no money on the plastic. Anyway, I would love to see videos on Canadian recycling and will you give a house tour again and maybe talk about the antiques you have explaining about the item when it was made, how it helped the consumer etc. I know you two are busy with work so i just wanted to plant some seeds if you were interested. Love every video and I'm watching reruns right now as i type.
Very sorry to hear about Bart. His booth was right when you first went into that new Vintique market wasn’t it? I remember seeing him there the day I was in Regina back in February. I’m sure he will be missed by many!
Thanks Karen and Rob. I really enjoyed this one. I couldn't have done that with all the broken things but you two are great at fixing and cleaning things up. (especially Karen) I can't wait till things get back to normal so you can hit some new garage sales and rummage sales. Thanks for all your hard work. Love you guys!
Wow, what a great haul....glad you are going back to get more. Looks like you did well so far on selling. The Milk Glass Bowls are federal. The one with a design (from I can see) is the apple blossom. Good find, and they look to be in good shape.
Sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you two are healthy and safe. Great video. Some yard sales are opening up here, and going yo those instead of indoor thrift stores. The fresh air is better with what's going on. Thank you again for a nice video.
You guys did a great job! It is so hard to go in to a home and try to negotiate with someone who want a price for sometime based on sentimental value or just cause they feel a lower price is “Giving” it away. Karen you did a great job with the bikes and all. Rob you too. But is it always is hard when family runs the estate sale.♥️
Yes it's not easy when you know the people because you don't want them to feel like you're ripping them off, but you also don't want to overpay just because you know them... sometimes it's easier buying from strangers!!! hahaha But Leo and his mom are awesome!!! We just love Leo, and his mother's a little fire cracker!!! Hahahaha!
What a fantastic video. I've missed ya's big time! I was so excited when you had your live time. I think I would have had to have the cart and 2 galvenized tubs. I do hope you get to go back and take us with you. Stay safe. Bev from NB.
Oh you guys are so sweet with her but i didnt expect any different cause you are both lovely people wonderful stuff brings back a lot of memories seeing it love Leo what a funny guy love to you both from Australia.
What a honey hole. I could have spent thousands there. There was soooo much good stuff and places like that don't come up very often. Keep going back and going back. The prices were great and so was the stuff there. Congrats!!!
That’s an amazing haul!! I’m sorry about your friend, he seemed like he was a great guy! I’m jealous of that cabinet, even with all the owies it is still beautiful, thank you for the video!!
Great job guys. Hi from windsor ontario your picker/bag lady friend keep on PUSHIN I’m right behind you got loads to sell all summer hoping to get rid of hoard
Our son had an old Studebaker but it had paint. My husband wanted it. But our son got caught in a flash flood in Ft. Collins Colorado. He said he tried to get out of it and turned a corner. The rain was coming down so hard. Then he could see other cars going down a creek with people. Anyway, his car hit something and he was stuck. He got out and jumped in the water. Not knowing it was deep he had to swim. He lost the car. But at least he lived. Some people died..... He said he was so shaken -up he tried to light a wet cigarette.
Looking at this from Australia, Your approach to the sellers is so good. Must not be easy sometimes, Its not worth anything sitting in a Garage maybe even getting damaged more. Hope the son eventually got it all cleared out.and "Mum" was happy
The old schwinn stingrays. Lemon peels and orange crate bicycles are worth a lot of money. I got a Schwinn stingray in the late 60 s for 69 dollars. Today some of them sell for thousands. I saw one in a bike shop in Florida about 7 years ago and they were asking 2500 dollars for it.
Those old bikes are cool. When I was a kid I would take the coaster break on my bike apart clean it and put it back together. I’m drooling over that adult tricycle if I had a shed I’d buy a trike but my landlord won’t allow it.
HI Rob, Karen great video looks like it was a real work out lol, surprised you didn't find more smalls and odd things in all that stuff, did you go back for a second look ? My favorite things were the lantern, the gas sign, and trikes. Live feed was great too well guys have a great New day and as always happy treasure hunting see ya soon NBL .PS stay well .
Uff Da, armchair adventures are either a bane or a boon. In this case, it was both. It was frustrating not being able to get in there and personally snoop! And, it was tough listening to repeated "I just don't know", but that soon stopped once the search developed! (Any idea how this estate sale turned out? I think you alluded to it in the live visit...?)
Bargain Barons Yes I did watch the ending! I should have went back and erased this question. I saw how you refurbished it. Wow that must have been a job. Beautifully done. Was it worth it? Would you do it again?
I am so proud of you two ! I have worked 50 plus years in community service agencies and never seen the respect and caring you gave the gentlemen and his mother!
Thank you so much Sharon. Honestly we are just being ourselves. 😁😁 Everyone around here is like that tho. It probably comes from growing up in a small Canadian city. So nice of you both to dedicate to Bart. You are both such nice people. Definitely my favorite channel to watch out there. Thank you for being you.
Wow!! Thanks so much Tim!!! 😃😃😃

I’m sorry for the loss of your friend 💗. I thoroughly enjoyed spending the last hour and some with you two! Thanks so much!
Leo seems to be an exceptional dude! Great pick y'all!!
Alex Archbold @ Curiosity Inc....may want that car!
That is So funny about him digging out the basement! My husband and I on our first home we did that too! Back in 73 took almost a year. But we gained so much space, and after that we cemented the floor ourselves.🤗
Oh wow! What a huge undertaking!!!!

Thanks so much!!!! 😁😁😁😁

This was so fun...so they loaded up the truck and they moved to Beverly...hills that is ..swimming pools, movie stars😀Thank you so much.
You are always so very kind to people. You guys are the best.
There is a house around here that used bikes to create a fence and it looked super cute in the country.
Leo should get ahold of Curiosity Incorporated. He restores cars a lot, and may be interested in that Studebaker!
It's official. Canada must reopen immediately. I have watched ALL of your videos. Love your content!
LOL 😂🤣😁 Thank you Sharon!!! Yes WE AGREE!!! We really want to get back out to the garage sales!!
I look forward to you going back. There is so much stuff of value there.
Those velvet mid century lampshades in the garage are fabulous.
My condolences to the loss of ur beautiful friend Bart, may he rest in peace 😔❤️
What fun to go along with you to a private pick! Another great adventure!

My prayers and condolences on the lost of your friend.
Thank you Beachmum 😔😔
Glad to see you out picking yahoo!!!!!!
It was nice you remembered your friend! Blessings to all and thank you both for uploading another fun video!!
Thanks so much as always Tigermoon! 🤗🤗
Sending my condolences on the loss of your friend.

That was fun to watch. I love how you 2 work together. I look forward to your videos, they always make me smile. 😁

You are both so kind❤

LOL AWESOME!!!! 😀😆😁👍
May Bart rest in peace 🙏
Love you two 💕 Stay safe!
So looking forward to your next visit to the house!!
Us too!

Thanks so much Mrs Worm!! 🤗🤗🤗
So very sorry for the loss of your friend Rob and Karen.. But what a great video! Thanks for putting it out for us to enjoy 😊
Just had a idea for videos. A few videos you did were on recycling bottles and cans. We don't have that kind of recycling here in the US. Well aluminum yes but you get no money on the plastic.

We get money back for cans, bottles and plastic here in Maine.
Very sorry to hear about Bart. His booth was right when you first went into that new Vintique market wasn’t it? I remember seeing him there the day I was in Regina back in February. I’m sure he will be missed by many!
Yes that was him, right as you enter the market his stuff was first. I think he's there wiping the table as we enter, when we filmed there last.
Hi kids, wow you have a nice haul there.Loved the video and love you👍👍❤❤

Wow, what a great haul....glad you are going back to get more. Looks like you did well so far on selling. The Milk Glass Bowls are federal. The one with a design (from I can see) is the apple blossom. Good find, and they look to be in good shape.
Thanks so much! We don't know a lot about milk glass, but we like it and collect it and use it as regular dinner ware! 😁
Loved this!!!! Miss you guys! Be safe!💜💜💜
BOOM! My mind just exploded - great find!
Sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you two are healthy and safe. Great video. Some yard sales are opening up here, and going yo those instead of indoor thrift stores. The fresh air is better with what's going on.
Thank you again for a nice video.
I thought the bikes would do better! Your bloopers are great! 😂💕💕💕
Except for the first 2, all the others were pretty much un-rideable.
So much stuff!
Hahahaha!
Wow Lots of goodies.I was getting overwhelmed just watching going thru the home.Hope you had found the glass.
We never found the glass for the bookcase, so we will have to get some cut.
What a fantastic video. I've missed ya's big time! I was so excited when you had your live time. I think I would have had to have the cart and 2 galvenized tubs. I do hope you get to go back and take us with you. Stay safe. Bev from NB.
Thanks so much Bev!!! 🤗🤗
Truly awesome finds, 😊👍💕
Thank you 😁 Vivian!!! Hope you have been doing well!!!

Omg i love 💓 too be there good good luck and thanks for sharing xxx
This reminds me of the pickers from Iowa! ... now, this is the kind of place they go to.
😮😮😮 OMG!! Wow!! That's an incredible story of survival!
The metak cabinet/file is just what we used to keep inventory on cards that
slid into the sleeves.
So interesting!!!!
Looking at this from Australia, Your approach to the sellers is so good. Must not be easy sometimes, Its not worth anything sitting in a Garage maybe even getting damaged more. Hope the son eventually got it all cleared out.and "Mum" was happy
I just found your channel and decided to subscribe.
Thanks so much Dorothy!!! I hope you enjoy more of our garage sale adventures! 😃😁👍
How do you like the reminder that you’re like your dad? 😂💕💕 great stuff and I’m so sorry for your loss. Miss you guys 🥰💕
LOL Karen doesn't mind hahaha she likes her dad! 😊😁
Bargain Barons if she’s like him, he’s probably an amazing guy! 💕
I love those milk glace bowls!❤️❤️

We have not been back yet but hope to soon!! 😀

I loooove the video!take care,stay safe!
Wow, what a undertaking.
Uff Da, armchair adventures are either a bane or a boon. In this case, it was both. It was frustrating not being able to get in there and personally snoop! And, it was tough listening to repeated "I just don't know", but that soon stopped once the search developed! (Any idea how this estate sale turned out? I think you alluded to it in the live visit...?)
nice to see you guys could make a trip out.
Hey. Guys nice to see you again! Did you end up getting the Barristers bookcase?
Yes! Didn't you watch until the end!? 🤣😂
Bargain Barons Yes I did watch the ending! I should have went back and erased this question. I saw how you refurbished it. Wow that must have been a job. Beautifully done. Was it worth it? Would you do it again?
