I am so happy to have found you. Goodness, it’s such a relief to get such wonderful, quality instructions. I am new to heirloom sewing and have had it in my mind for some years now that I want to make gowns for the hospitals. I’m now retired and it’s time to do some important sewing. Thank you so much!

Again thank you for this tutorial. I have made a bunch of them. The little dress shown at the beginning of this part of the tutorial shows a bound sleeve rather than the smocked one. What measurement did you use for it? I am assuming it is a small size. Thank you for your help.

I'm sorry - I no longer have that gown as it's already been donated. I probably used a "best guess" measurement based on the size of the gown made.

Thank you for this tutorial. I have found a new outlet for sewing with these Wee Care gowns. How long is the skirt on this dress? I have been using the pattern from A&E and it is much shorter. Also how long is the binding for the bound sleeve hem?

The gowns are cut exactly as the pattern indicated. It is the SAGA pattern.

Can you sew the lace on the sleeves before you pleat?

You can try if you like. I have never been as pleased with the results because the rolled/whipped seam doesn't want to feed the same as the single layer of fabric.
