This game is clearly a parody of the zombie apocalypse trope. The same way how Shaun of the Dead pokes fun at the zombie genre, when you realize that fighting zombies is like fighting mentally disabled people, you don't need to be a trained soldier to save the day.
His old VA was Jimmy Urine, the lead singer for Mindless Self Indulgence. They weren't involved in the making of RePOP which is also why a lot of the music is different.
