I want to see an explanation of why the score boards have extra boxes that score boards do not normally need beyond the standard 10 frames? is the scoring different here or something? Makes no sense? Extra score boxes?
@@mikehammond7277 That is part of why I was so confused it looked like handicap bowling but nobody was actually getting a handicap so it threw me off. thanks for your explanation.
These Patterns that create these RIDICULOUS outside lanes of no hook (Out of Bounds) is utterly insane to put out there. The equipment available just isn't equal to that difficulty... and should be banned from use on lanes in tournaments. You could say its fair... but watching someone dump a ball into the gutter when the 1 board should hold it just dumps into the channel... makes for POOR viewing at best. Just let the guys strike and see who can get more lucky in carry. These oil patterns have gotten too difficult and are only pushing people away from the sport faster.
@@bobsmith-y3j Thank you for the reply...That's the problem... there is NO WAY to know where to play... The dang announcers even said it... but I highly doubt you caught it... Those lanes had been stripped and the pattern was placed for the 3rd time... The lanes played differently after EACH application from each other... Also known as the TRUE pattern being revealed. If bowling wants to encourage young bowlers to make this a career... they need to STANDARIZE lane patterns/performance. This is a HUGE reason the Olympics refuse to allow Bowling into the games... because the PROCESS is so unreliable, thus making outcomes utterly irrelevant. If they cater to only certain bowlers and THEIR skill sets via patterns that use those very same skill sets... then the PBA can control who is making money and who is not. If you cannot see that as a matter of contention and fact... then I really cannot help you. These patterns are killing the sport and preventing the sport from growing while shrinking its competitive consumer base due to erratic and irrational patterns being used.
@@therealhonestraider7921 Of course I know that lanes are set up to favor particular players. The sport is not exactly getting killed when I see 12-13you's shooting 800. Lane conditions and aggressive equipment have done more to destroy the game. Give everyone the same tough conditions and let the chips fall where they may. Bowling isn't and shouldn't be about a carry contest on an easy house shot.
@@bobsmith-y3j But certainly you can agree watching people struggle on a pattern is less exciting... which is why the NFL has adopted things like enhanced rules that favor SCORING because high scores fills seats... and excites fans...
I really loved that house! I bowled there from 1988 - 1995 back when it was Fun Lanes and also Ideal Lanes.
I would like to see the end of tournament pay outs/placements of the participating bowlers.

As an Aussie, Steve Mackie was a name that brings back some memories.
One of the best in the industry!
Why the hell do the score sheets have 2 extra boxes on them? The final one says HDP?
@@Zurround The tournament was bowled a Scratch configuration and not with handicap and they nigh have only one particular score sheet to work with.

Thanks for the upload, but next time it’s better not to put in the thumbnails who won to give some excitement to the viewers
Thanks for watching! The thumbnail used featured last year's champion with the year listed.
Anderson Linda Lee Donna Williams Jennifer
Not a fan of this reoiling and having the backends not play right.
Name of announcer?
Agreed...
Then safe to say. They won’t be seeing you bowling.
@@mikehammond7277 Ha! I suspect youve never bowed on a US Open condition.
Edit: Last year's winner.
That says 2023 winner but now you told us

,The first match, Deeron was totally playing the wrong zone. He could have moved but did not. You wanna win,ya gotta play the lanes correct.

The equipment today is 10X more user friendly.
