  • This will tell you everything you need to know about what electricians wear to work every day. We will start by talking about boots. My favorite pair of work boots is currently the Danner Vicious boots. They are incredibly comfortable, water proof, composite toe, and offer electrical hazard protection. Next, for clothing, we want to look for any clothing that is made out of cotton or spandex. We want to avoid shirts or pants that have polyester in them. We will also cover all the different types of protective clothing you can wear to protect yourself from electricity.

Water proofness really depends on where you live and how much water/snow/rain you have to put up with on a regular basis. Have 2 pairs or a pair of clean shoes/boots to swap when you are inside someone’s finished home.

Honestly the environment too. It’s not as much about rain but I work in factories that tend to be nasty so it can be wet just about anywhere so I prefer to have water proof wherever I go

@@Pyrotov that’s good to hear. I applied for an apprenticeship a month ago, just waiting to be given a date to go take the tests. Did you also have to do any test to enter? Like math and English?

@@sirbeltran04 no, the one I went to didn't require any test, they just teach me at the job site on whatever we're doing that day. Hopefully they get back to you soon brother!!

always go with composite, specially in cold climates. there is a big difference between composite and steel toe protection.

Honestly anything clean. At that point in time it doesn’t matter as much for performance as long as it’s comfortable, insulated, and has a safety toe!
