HOW NOT TO LOAD A SNOWMOBILE

- Have you ever needed to bring your snowmobile into the city? (Yah me either, up until recently) … A couple hurdles come to mind when trying to park a truck with a snowmobile in a parking ramp. 1.) Sled deck - clearance is an issue 2.) 2-Place Trailer - that’s just not going to happen. What I did find is that Caliber makes a ramp that you could load right into the box of your truck, making it an easy load and unload for your snowmobile. As soon as I got that new ramp and loaded my sled, that voice in my head went off “If you hit it fast enough, you can jump it” … Good thing I didn’t go first, see how my stunt double Lonnie did.

Works great for loading sleds in the box of a truck.... Not recommended for jumping the truck... trust me. 🙄

I bought a ramp for my sled and everytime I tried going up the ramp it got stuck and didnt go up, so then I guned it and I ended up crashing through the ramp
did it flip the ramp up?
@@Levi_LaVallee no, I strapped it down with like 4 ratchet straps so it wouldn't flip up. The skis smashed through the suport bars
...so sad to see destruction. I owned a blue Chevy, similar. the snowmachine looked nice too. ...but funny.
You need to tell Polaris they need to give you a raise your truck is a real piece of crap and your sled don’t look too healthy neither just kidding buddy awesome video😂😂

You need a steeper/shorter ramp, so you get more "agressive" angle 😂 you'll make it 👍

Why is everyone bitching about the sled getting wrecked? Nothing ever wrecked when there’s money in your pocket
Why not just take plywood and 2x4 and finish the ramp in the bed of the truck? Then if you clip you just hit the plywood, then you can test angles and speeds to see if you will clip..then you take away the ramp in the bed.
The goal wasn't to make it over. ;)
LaVallee I get that..but you proposed the question of if it can be done..so now it has to be done.
@@wstreff It can be done. Long box truck would give you plenty of room. truck that sat up a little taller would give the ramp more angle which would give you more clearance. The issue to be aware of is having the tail gate fold up as you get steeper with the ramp.

U need a bump in front of the ramp , small kicker so u land on the ramp and pre jump bounce the cab/double. Burp it speeds not trying to clear 15 buses . Lol

14 years working in the rc industry, so i can see it being done.
Better question is what kept you from doing the steering as well. Its actually easy to do. No worse than large scale aircraft. Especially with todays electronics available.
Bryce Moriarty yes we used a remote. It is a rush when you don’t have steering seeing where it ends up! Lol

It acutally worked out pretty well, the truck was a scrap truck to use for parts, and the only damage on the sled was it bent the one ski up pretty good.
To see what would happen was well the worth the expense to me. haha
I used to have a Indy 500 just like that. If that's my old snowmobile I'm pretty pissed haha
It ws tough one! one thing that was wrong with it was it bent the ski up. I thought it would be done after that one!

We sold our 2002 mxz 500 , thing was mint, for 1600. No idea why either. Didn't need the money but now it is impossible to find something like that that isn't beat to shit.
