    I was lucky to catch one of these on the blue line, and they're awesome! We arrived at Capitol South and JUST missed our train. We waited for another blue line train, and this is what rolled up to the platform. You should've seen how happy I was.

    • @baetsimpson
      @baetsimpson 7 лет назад +5

      There is a button that T/Os need to press to scene that the train is pulled in correctly, this was previously only in automated mode, but the 7Ks are the only ones to be made after the 2009 crash and the disabling of ATO.

    • @Reallynow101

    What is the top operating speed of those 7000 series? My 2nd question is, is there any speed limit in stations? For example, in some European systems, trains are accelerating until 40kmh while in station, after getting out of station it accelerates again until 70 or 80kmh. As far as I can see DC trains accelerates steadily, but I wanted to confirm.

    • @PaulClipMaster
      @PaulClipMaster 7 лет назад +1

      How are smaller windows a step backwards? Window size is more of a personal preference. It has nothing to do with how advanced the cars are.

    • @SandBoxJohn
      @SandBoxJohn 7 лет назад +4

      You are correct, but not for that exact reason The windows are smaller because the end doors are roughly 25" closer to the center of that car to allow the making of the ends of the cars less crush resistant.

    • @elevatorsbyliftfilmer1247

    • @SandBoxJohn

      It's because they are filthy. The surface of the concrete has years accumulated dust and dirt from wheel, rail and brake wear. Power washing is incapable of thoroughly cleaning all of filth from the concrete to make the stations as bright as they were before trains began rolling through them.

    • @MadeForEpicness
      @MadeForEpicness 7 лет назад +6

      SkandikFilm it's how the metro is designed. The station uses an indirect lighting system. To be honest, I kinda like it. It's a trademark of the Metro along with the curved walls.

    i will never not despise these ugly, generic, slow-doored, silent trains.

      They are not ugly, the interior is actually nice so let them have the new trains. They also have a new look which is what the metro system was going for and the reason why it's stainless steel is to protect the environment.

      ok, you may not like them, but hey, in a matter of 20-30 years they’ll be replaced by something anyway, so you wont have to deal with them forever.

    sadly, i really dislike the 7000 series. the lack of the hum the older models made makes these new trains seem lifeless, without any character. they don't match the station design either, making it seem even more jarring.

      no matter which way you look at it, the metro is going to seem a lot more dead with thise silent trains running around.
