How do you know when to stop adding sounds. I find so often I feel like its not enough or too much…I feel like thats the hardest point to me making a beat
Sometimes when you feel you can’t add anything else, usually it’s missing vocals. We aren’t artists. So unless you plan to just put out beat tapes, that time or point is when it’s okay to wrap up the beat bounce it down then go to the next one.

You could also try having a reference acapella ready to throw on a beat. To save time, you could note the tempo of the acapella and adjust your beat to it before you throw it in your project. Once it's in, you'll quickly hear if the beat is finished, if it could use a few more sounds, or if some existing sounds need to be taken out because they are competing with the acapella.

What’s up Lawrence? Good question, so the Mixing & Mastering course is best for learning just that. I go over a Song/Beat I mixed and mastered and ho through the whole process. With the “Cookin That Boom Bap” course, that is more for learning beat making techniques. I cover mixing very lightly in that course. Hope this helps fam!! 💯💯

Every DAW has some kind of multiband compressor or just a regular compressor and EQ. You can still achieve the same goal. Might be just an extra step within your DAW.
