Guildford Then and Now

- A few pictures of the town that I grew up in.
It has taken me a few months on and off to piece this together,
making sure the photos overlay each other to the best fit possible.
It shows that Guildford has changed in many ways but at the same time has also stayed the same.
It has been a very emotional project to complete as I no longer live in the town anymore and miss it so very much.

I did my Army training in Guildford and was posted back there on HQ Staff after my trade training. I have wonderful memories and loved the town very much. I was there in 1975 for two years. ❤
good to see someone loves Guildford as much as me! I think the thing that needs to stay the most is the countryside!!
As a child I lived in Guilford in the late 70s. Now I'm far far away from here. I do remember it though.
This is so well done. I am a great fan of then and now images but the way they are merged is brilliant.

I live in guildford and like it here. Only thing i hate is the awful evening rushhour traffic. I wish it could be more dutch with dutch style cycle routes.

For a moment I thought this video wad about Guilford in Vancouver.
Im called Oliver im 10 years old and im growing up in guildford. It is a great town. I love the town centre and im wondering. Did any of you know a hairdressers called sanriz and a hair dresser leonardo.?
I seem to have seen a picture of Shere at 0.38 , was it?
The location at 0.38 is actually on the Portsmouth Rd (A3100) going towards Guildford.
You can just make out the pub, Ye Old Ship Inn on the right. The road opposite the pub is Sandy Lane.
and Wonersh at 2:20, a couple of miles south of Gfd.
@@2nickarmstrong That was my old house opposite the ship, belonged to the law college where I worked.
