Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God!! My heart melted while watching the video!! I've been nearly in all the places that you described in the video! The Castle, the High Street.. I'm afraid I missed the river! sigh I can't let this juss pass by, I'm establishing a connection here! I'll surely subscribe on RUclips to your channel, and I'm putting your video link on my Instagram to let more people know about this charming town. I'm surrounded by people who think they know the UK just because they've visited London 4 times, but while I'm not taking anything away from the greatness of London, you can't say you've visited or that you know the UK if you don't visit the outskirts. My year in UK was fantastic, I will always be grateful to the Surrey people, and the UK in general. From Brighton to Aldershot, they always made me feel at home! Stay in touch you great guys!
Thanks for the comment! I can't agree more! As someone who's relatively new to the U.K. I'm constantly blown away at how pretty a lot of the towns are! We definitely plan to cover more places so stay tuned! Ricky.
Well done! You've done a really good expose. I'm ashamed to say I forgot The Star was so good despite walking past it all the time. Thank you for the reminder
Fantastic video. Such an enchanting place Guildford. The Star inn is somewhere we popped in for a look .Looked very nice and cosy. No wonder its your favourite ! Great presenting. Thanks Ricky for both the simplified and traditional translation. Really appreciated .Keep up the excellent work.
Thank you guys,I have been here for one month and the video makes me know more about this town and I’d like to go to the bar and the restaurant you recommended 🎉🎉🎉
Born in Guildford in Mount Alvernia Nursing Home, attended Holy Trinity C of E primary school, then RGS. Lived Bushy Hill Drive in Merrow. Left in 1965 for Melbourne 🇦🇺I hope to visit before I shuffle off this mortal coil.
My grandparents lived on Bushy Hill drive until only a few years ago. My gran, Linda, passed in 2021. I wonder if you might've known her, or her parents? Billie Parker ring a bell?
@@joshhills1635 hello Josh, I loved at 152 bushy hill drive until September 1965 when we emigrated to Australia. My next door neighbour was Colin hill. I also recall an Alan jobson and a Susan kinsella.
Visit Guildford’s workhouse Spike see what they did when you couldn’t afford to live there And you’ve tactfully avoided North Street but at the weekend it has a brilliant market well worthy of a mention
You'd have trouble negotiating it from the middle of town as the weir further along which part of the towpath runs along collapsed in 2019, which means the towpath is fenced off for a distance in the centre of the town requiring a roadside walkaround which is not well signposted 😞
The main things you show is places to drink and go shopping. There’s so much more to Guildford than drinking. The pubs get very boring after a while and very expensive also apart from weatherspoons they are all very cramped and don’t have much of a vibe. Why not mention Chantry wood, Pewley hill, St Martha’s, Newlands corner, I could go on.
Hey, thanks for your feedback! We do feature more than just drinking and shopping and have other videos based in Guildford too. We agree - there's loads to feature in (and around) Guildford but far too many for this video. Thanks for the suggestion for a video on the Surrey Hills. We actually have this (and more) lined up for future videos where we can spend a bit more time there. Hopefully, we'll cover these soon!
Having lived here my whole life, you summed out the best places amazingly
So thank you for this! 💗
@Daneosaurs Rex id say so yes. i don’t hear of anything bad. Most of the people are friendly too.

Antipodean here who lived in Guildford for 4 years, you guys did a really good job of representing it. Very pretty part of the world.
